and all other European shitboxes welcome, too

Why are you posting that ugly punto? Turd gen is a lot better looking.
>>14609454
but first punto is best punto
These days, which is more fuel efficient for the average driver, manual or auto? Also pic unrelated.
Manual. Some autos are really good on new high tier cars, but manual is still more energy efficient.
For an "average" driver who has no clue what the tachometer is, what it does, nor how the car gears operate, an automatic is more fuel efficient.
For someone willing to do an hour of research, a manual.
Generally, depends on the car. Go for the manual, be a better driver.
Also, what about a given number of speeds auto vs CVT?
First car budget is around 30k, should I get a 2008 Porsche 987 Cayman S or 2016 Mazda Miata???
>>14608869
Mazda will last longer and have less issues and be cheaper to repair.
But it will also be considerably slower.
Handling wise they'll probably be pretty close, though you won't being able to get the miata up as fast as the porsche.
Basically I'd say, if you are spending all of your money on this, go for the miata, but if you have lots of dough lying around or at least make lots of surplus cash, then go for the porsche.
wait until miats become 20k

What does /o/ think of bedliner paint jobs?
tl;dr I have two identical cars. One with nice paint and looks good, but has a bent to fuck frame in the front, the other has a perfect body but the worst paint you can imagine.
Considering swapping out all the good bits from the first car into the piece of shit looking car and spraying it with bedliner.

I have an FC3S and I live in Australia. I feel that there's no better cars than my car.
It has 21" chrome wheels and a turbo with high pressure and aftermarket intake and exhaust. It doesn't look ricer.
Pic is not my car but basically looks like this.
Anyone would think a car like this is super expensive looking, right?
But it's my understanding that in the USA, these cars sell quite cheaply. Does this seem strange to you?
>>14608776
>It has 21" chrome wheels
Are you of Lebanese heritage by any chance?
>>14608787
No. I'm half anglo-saxon and half indian.
My mother was a British free settler in New Zealand (so not a convict).
>>14608794
Still a shitskin like I expected.
I found this when I opened up my transfer case. I have no idea what it is so I turned to 4chan to see if the meme gods can help.
>>14608677
You've seen a choke on a shotgun before, yeah? That's basically the same thing, but for a penis.
>>14608687
I've already tried that
Next
>>14608677
So you ever wonder how aliens keep track of the specimens they space fucked and probed?... I have bad news for you OP...
Does /o/ think my car can pull off bozo style?
well when i say bozo i mean something more subtle like this
>>14608654
Please don't.
Looking at 4x4 SUVs. Budget is under 5k. Keep seeing gen 2 discos appear, 3rd gen 4runners, Gen 1 Xterras.
3rd gen 4runners suffer from strawberry milkshake, stupidly high mileage, toyota tax.
Xterras are fucking barebones as shit, open diff, no rear locker,
Discos have the valve cover gasket issue & ABS shuttle valve problem.
You can find discos, relatively low mileage, some even have the issues already fixed. are these THAT bad? They're so cheap, most under 3500.
What says you /o/
>>14608460
Go buy a Tahoe. Take whatever you didn't use to buy the truck and improve it.
mitsubishi montero or suzuki samurai
Second gen discos were regarded as abortions.
Try finding older patrols or monteros. Same year land cruisers could be getting a bit out of your price range but check those out too.
That said, the lr3 and lr4 are great vehicles.
gonna go look at a $5k 2001 prelude this weekend. what's /o/'s take on this car? seems like a mediocre sport coupe, but i'm a mediocre guy so i think it kinda suits me
>>14608079
>fwd anything
>being a "sport" coupe
Yeah, you're the type of person Honda loves
>>14608079
They look faster than they are
chicks would dig
>>14608089
I mean, it's not as bad as the scion tc, is it?
Is the Porsche 944 n/a a good first car?
Im thinking of buying one
>>14608050
first ask yourself if you're comfortable wrenching and paying for repairs.
My buddy had one and they're great. It is German tho so it's a bit expensive.
>tfw you will never ever own a P1
You won't with that attitude
>>14608004
/thread
>>14607985
But why would you want a P1 when you could've had a V8?
Who /car talk/ here?
>>14607972
>no new episodes since 2012
>Click is dead
Anon, I...
i wonder if there could ever be a replacement for click and clack? i'd like new eps even if they aren't as good
Don't make me cry, anon.
I loved this show with all my heart.
What is it about automobiles that appeal to you so much, /o/?
>>14607834
its like the contemporary horse, Its a combination of status, utility, and freedom
Stickin' me knob in the tailpipe does it for me.
Because it's a culmination of everything engineering.
Hundreds of thousands of hours have been poured into making cars lighter, faster, and better. Absolutely beautiful. Cars are absolute works of art, not only from an engineering standpoint, but also from a technical one.
We've got stuff from the space shuttle on cars now.
Because I can't own a fighter jet.
It's also one of the last bastions of freedom.. Cars are slowly becoming more regulated by day. It's one of the last few things that lets us have fairly unchained pieces of equipment, even if it means skirting the law a bit. (But not so much as guns.. converting a gat to full auto is a great ticket to federal prison)
Yes it's a roush
Stage three track pack
>>14607635
I love it and hate it at the same time
>>14607628
That is one stupid looking wing.
I like it.
I have an automatic car sitting in my backyard that I have to push, it's lost a seal and just pumps all the fluid out. Where the car is sitting I can't lift it, and some bright spark thought putting the filler under the car was a good idea.
If I shift it from park to neutral and it makes no sound other than it changing gear, am I in the clear?, do autos grind or make any other noticeable sounds if shits fucking up?
>>14607504
As long as it isn't like an electrical connection from the shifter to the transmission. In which case you're still okay but will need power to make it work.
Why didn't you just put it in neutral and push the car to see if it went in?
>>14607527
Have to steer, car doesn't steer unless it's running and doesn't start in neutral
>>14607529
It shifts in to neutral fine, but doesn't seem to have enough to actually engage any other gears
