That's a lot of miles.

The new NSX would have been better even if it was a lightweight all aluminium fwd car with just a (turbod?) v6. Instead its a heavy and pigfat hybrid.

That's what the Type R is for.

So i've only ever driven petrol engines, and never had one with a turbo or supercharger. Looking to buy a cheapish turbo diesel, but don't know how to tell if a car sounds ok on a test drive or not, and at what kind of mileage they tend to wear out etc. Anybody have any advice?
What does a failing turbo sound like? Or how can you tell if a turbo is worn?
Are there things to consider on a high mileage diesel car that you wouldn't need to on a petrol?

Worn turbo sounds like an owl, it's funny but it's true.

About diesel it has less horsepower than petrol but more torque than petrol.

I drive passat b5.5 1.9 TDI 96kw/130hp it's got 260000+ km and never had any problem with it.

Hope I helped

Hello /o/! I've a 2013 Genesis Coupe, and as much as I would love to start pouring money into modifications, I've no idea what the hell I'm doing (I've never even changed oil before, but I have changed brake pads on my previous vehicle). I like to work slow, and meticulous to make sure things are done the proper way, the first time. Would it be better for me to purchase a $1000-$3000 car to practice on? I've had my eye on a Porsche 944 (ideally the turbo, but I'll settle). Ideally I'd like to reach the point of knowledge where I'm confident to take the engine out, clean all the parts, inspect for any that might be failing, replace them, and upgrade to something that will beat most stock cars under $30k.

Also, how the hell do people work on replacing things underneath their car (such as the exhaust)? I can't picture that going well with some jack stands, all by yourself.

A 944 isn't much harder than any other 80s sports car, supposedly.

Still though, OP, if you want the easiest shit ever, start with a Volvo 240 or an old American pickup truck.

Hey /o/, i have a 97 miata, and it drove great until a couple of days ago when suddenly the engine produced like literally no power (inb4 miatas are slow). So now the car wont rev anymore, it takes like five seconds of full throttle at idle for the car to reach 4k rpms. Also the only code its throwing out is a cylinder 3 misfire. Ive already replaced spark plug and spark plug wires, and put full synthetic oil in it. What the fuck is wrong with my piece of shit /o/?

you sir, have a air flow problem, clogged air filter? plugged muffler? fucked up catalytic?

Do people actually like this guy?

If he touched my cars that I can't afford to fix up I would cry...

I'd hate it if someone painted them two tone put nigger wheels on it and fucked up the interior.

I'd be fucked off and consider selling it.

Definatley wouldn't be seen dead in anything "designed" by chip foose.

I'd rather have a beat up 500 dollar corolla... as then people would just think im poor, not retarded or white trash.

I assume most FRSs/BRZs you'll see used will have been thrashed or crashed, since they really don't have much appeal beyond boy racers.

You're much better off buying a Miata, since there are plenty sold on looks/style that weren't driven hard.
>>
Go buy one of a dealer lot used or just get a miata. Used 370z is also an option.
>>
>>14648965
of course BRZ owners would be this stupid

I wonder what brand of car gets crashed most often, I am guessing Subaru.

OK guys, my older car is finally starting to shit the bed, and I just got a better paying job, so I am looking for a newer car, and I am trying to decide between a few. I am looking at spending anywhere between 12000-18000 on a car but obviously the cheaper the better. These are the ones I am currently looking at:

Subaru brz/Scion fr-s
ford focus st
nissan maxima
nissan 350z/370z
infiniti g35/g37
hyundui genesis coupe
hyundai veloster turbo

Any others you guys think I should throw in the mix, any I should throw out as shit?

hey there /o/

I'm looking for a cheap commuter/dog hauler. I want a hatchback or wagon that gets 30+mpg, has a manual transmission, power windows/locks and cruise and less than 150k miles for ~$4500 or less. don't want a Subaru because I've had nothing but shit luck with them and I don't know if they pull 30mpg anyway.

so at this point I've found two cars: first one is a dark blue 2003 Toyota Matrix XR with 145k for $4390 and the second is a 2003 Mazda Protege5 in yellow with 120k for $3995.

I don't know much about either car, I do think the Mazda seems cooler but the yellow is somewhat obnoxious, the Matrix is hideous but has dat Toyota reliability.

which would you choose? what other vehicles should I look into?

From what I've heard xr parts are hard to come by, but that may just be the xrs model. But they are nice looking cars! Also, something something mazda reliability meme something
>>
>>14647932
Perhaps a camry wagon?
>>
>>14647932
I would think it would just be the XRS parts that would be hard to find given there is no shortage of XR's for sale. But really I have no idea, I've never owned an import before lol.

>>14647933
Is a Camry wagon even a thing?
