Basically making this thread to vindicate my purchase. I'm paranoid. I borrowed some money from family and bought a used car. I spent 2900 on a used 2007 toyota yaris. 233k miles. It drivers smooth as fuck. Did I fuck up on something so high on mileage? I spent weeks looking. It was the best I could do for something newer model with a good reputation. Strictly highway miles, the owner commuted to Columbus Ohio from Belpre Ohio. Any tips for 200k mileage cars? The engine still sounds good. A mild low whine when i accelerate. Barely noticeable and I am not sure its the engine or not. Doesn't really sound bad. The transmission worries me the most. It has given me no indication that its bad. Seems to shift fine. Had some issues accelerating in the beginning, its deceptively powerful. Any way i can treat or extend the life of this engine? The original owner has all the repair paperwork on it. Followed it to the letter. Should i flush the transmission and add some lucas?

Chains are more harsh but generally stronger and more expensive.

The VAG meme has cursed me /o/ . Muh DD just anally fucked me . My golf literally won't start . It's a 2.0 diesel auto (because yuropoor , before you ask) , and when i depress the brake and turn the ignition , the car won't crank over . Starter motor doesn't spin , just makes a clicking noise . It also says that i have to keep the brake depressed , which i am doing by living in eastern europe and keeping my foot on it . EVEN THE FUCKING CLUSTER INDICATOR SAYS THAT I'M PRESSING IT .
What could be the problem ? Battery is good , no sparks or visible corrosion on the contacts . Gonna get a OBD II reader from a mate and hook it up and see if the car is shitting any error codes , even though i have no warning light on.
The worst part is that I'm car iliterate and have never wrenched a day in my life so it seems I'm fucked . My dad is not available and he's ht only person that I'd trust with my car without having to pay him .
Send help ...
Pic sorta unrelated , just some repair i had to do on the car to fix a headlight washer . I've never touched an engine with a wrench in my life .

Smack the starter with a crow bar or something (not too hard just a tap) then try if still nothing. It could be your beutral safety switch, or your ignition is bad. When you turn the key to the on position (right before starting) can you hear the fuel pump "whirr"?

how do you know the battery is good?
a clicking noise, and no starter is the battery not having enough amps to start
is it cold there? sounds like a dead battery
even if its showing 12.6v, it could have low amprage, and not start.
Try jump starting it, or charging the battery.

This used to happen to my mums 2006 Passat 2.0 TDI. It's probably a really easy fix, just disconnect the battery, wait 15 mins, plug it back in and it should start. Do this before fucking about with anything else.

Red Bull F1 designer Adrian Newey will make a road-going hypercar for Aston Martin.
The key statements about the upcoming car are Aston’s goals. They’re projecting the hypercar will be faster around Silverstone than an F1 car, also claiming it will be the fastest production road car for sale when it debuts later this decade.
Codenamed Project “AM-RB 001,” the new car will combine Newey’s aerodynamic and engineering know-how with Aston Martin’s design language penned by Marek Reichman.
