I hope they're gonna come back with a new mazdaspeed3/6 that isn't fucking 30 grand
Mazdaspeed ND pls
So I spend about two hours a day driving to and from work, usually in slow moving (stop and go) traffic. I am 28 and I have never driven a manual, but I since I am a virgin and I live with my mom I want to buy a fancy fast car. I want to get it automatic due to traffic, but I think /o/ will make fun of me. Is manual OK for stop and go traffic?
>>14669662
>I am a virgin and I live with my mom
just stick with automatic
>>14669662
Nothing wrong with an automatic DD. If you are buying a performance car though it MUST be a manual.
>been looking to buy a c4 corvette. They are all automatics.
Why?
You'll get sick of it. Manuals are fun when you want driving to be fun. In stop an go it'll be a pain in the ass.
Convince me not to buy one.
My family/week-end/vacation car broke and I (kind of) need a 7 seater.
I hate SUVs and most vans (or can't afford the ones I don't hate).
The problem is that the exact configuration I want is not available on a 200+ miles radius.
My choices are either travel a few hundred miles, convince a dealer to modify an existing car or wait a few months for one to be built to my specifications.
Either way, I have to wait; meaning that I have a lot of time to think it over.
Should I buy it?
Should I search a used one (the 2015 and 2014 models with the configuration I want were quite common)?
Should I consider something else (it has to be under 35.000 out the door)?
Should I just give up the idea of having a 7 seater?
>>14669535
Why do you need so much room?
>>14669543
I don't NEED, its just nice to have.
I have two kids and a lot times a few of the friends' kids end up with us over the week-ends.
Also amerifat on vacation (that should be enough in itself).
>>14669555
Nice trips. I can't say anything bad about the transit connect. But I can say
>having kids
>any year
Pleb.
Gonna buy a new car, 2011 CTS-V Sedan or Coupe?
Like the look of then coupe but prefer the practicality of the sedan
station wagon
Coupe reference
gonna get either car in black or silver
wagon
they look downright evil in all black, and by god will you surprise people when you blow their doors off
there are manual cts-v wagons out there but they're rare as fuck and going up in price
What's /o/'s first choice for a bug out/apocalypse vehicle?
Toyota pickup with a long travel kit for me
>extraordinarily reliable
>able to be operated by dindus in war torn countries
>cheap to buy
>heightened suspension allows for more versatility
>>14668630
9 times out of 10 you should bug in instead of out.

I'm looking into getting a 06 Mazda 6 GT /o/
>multiple 4/5 ratings on various sites
>decent styling
> 274 HP
>AWD
>Great reliability ratings
Do you believe at $4,000 that this is a good choice? I still have a month to decide.
Go for it bro, this Is the only modern mazda i truely like.

>>14667205
Where did you come up with 274hp?
Shitty College student here...
whats a reasonable moped to get myself around town
get a 70-80s honda motorcycle 150-300 cc with low km/miles
moped is just a bad idea. I have never ridden one but get sick at the thought of it, they look absolutely terrible. Unless you're planning on getting a replica of the one in FLCL, get a small motorcycle. you'll be glad you did.
>>14665056
I wouldnt go 70s becuase of parts but pretty much this. Scooters and mopeds are a waste of money, get a small motorcycle
Why can't Infiniti and Acura be dis gud?
wtf is that an RCF?
acura has no direction as a brand, no idea what they want to be
infiniti just wants driver's aids and to seem sporty but they don't give a fuck about performance anymore
>>14664717
This. I have a G37 and even among the forum goers/enthusiasts the new Q50 and Q60 are getting a great big "meh". Infiniti doesn't want to be sporty enough to compete with BMW and Merc nor does it want to get more luxurious and raise the price point. So it'll just stay in limbo forever.
Hey /o can you help me. I'm looking for a cheap 90s car that's relatively fun for a teen with cheap insurance. I NEED a manual
literally any four door hatch or sedan. delete thread. pic related was my first, have a blast OP
post craigslist btw
you might not think so now but anything is fun as your first car, even a 110hp fwd diesel
Manual is for fags
Sup /o/, I'm usually over in /k/ so forgive me if I sound like a dumbass, but how exactly do you drive a motorcycle? I'm looking into getting my first vehicle, torn between a truck and a sport bike like pic related. I'm pretty much a poorfag so a cheap bike with like 70MPG sounds way better than a truck with like 18MPG. Only problem is I've never driven a motorcycle, only bikes, ATV, cars, trucks, etc. I also would like to know how any of you bikers transport things, I do a lot of fishing and shooting so other than putting things in a backpack do I have any options?
>>14660906
Get the truck. If you live anywhere near a city, the bike will get you killed. I love bikes, they are fast and efficient, but only because your SOL if you get hit.
I suggest a Toyota Hilux. I know /k/ loves them as well as terrorists. A manual Hilux with a 22R engine is near indestructible and super easy to work on.
>>14660931
I live around the Jupiter/Delray area of Florida, if that helps. I've heard horror stories but is it really that bad if you're an mx rider? And if it is, what's the best poorfag truck for fuel efficiency then?
>>14660940
Yeah it's that bad. I knew several people who were very cautious rider's and just used it for transportation, not racing around or anything, and they still got hit. It's inevitable. If you live in a city, your going to get in an accident at some point or another. Decide now which you want to be holding on for dear life to when it happens, a car, or a motorcycle? Which one will leave you potentially less fucked?
That aside, trucks are not very fuel efficient compared to cars because of their poor aerodynamic efficiency. The giant low pressure zone behind the cabin does't help turbulent flow at all.
Honestly, I would worry more about the cost of repairs. Like I said, a hilux is very simple and cheap to repair. It gets more than 20mpg if you don't drive it like a tard too.
There are more fuel efficient trucks out there, but not by much, and they will probably cost more in the long run when things break.
I would get a hilux now, and a sportbike later for use on a track. That would be the best of both worlds.
My brother disagrees with me wanting to buy this
10 k worth or na?
10k usa? no. even if it is an all trac it isn't worth more than 7.5 at the most.
>>14671826
thats a gt4
>>14671826
>ST205
>"all trac"
Uh, no...
Anyway, OP, it's worth maybe $6-8k if it's a GT-Four, no more than $5k if it's an SS-III (and for $5k it better be fucking mint with like 30,000 kms), and $0 if it's an American model
If it's FWD turbo swapped I wouldn't pay more than $3000 CAD for it (so like $50 american)
/o/ rate my first car
2002 Subaru Forester
Similar to picture
Got it $3.5k with all maintenance done including new head gaskets.
Only problem is the downstream sensor on the cat is out, which doesn't affect anything.
Also, what size rims should I throw on it?
150k miles
>>14670295
>what size rims should I throw on it?
32's
>>14670295
Nice choice. I had a 99 that I loved. Got rid of it when the head gaskets started to go. It was at 190,000 miles, and I didn't want to sink the money into fixing it. In retrospect, I really liked that car. I regret selling it a lot.
Do you like light or dark interiors?
>>14670248
Dark. Light interiors show wear easier
Dark always. The only case I could see a light interior being alright is in a convertible
Black headliner and seats. Beige everything else minus dash.
FUCK, I saw one of these in person today at the Denver auto show, and hoooollyy shit its ugly in person. Like after looking at some of the pictures and seeing the new 2017 ZL1 pics, I thought it was starting to grow on me, but damn does it look bad in person. It honestly seems like a fucking overgrown Scion TC to me with the design.
I cannot begin to understand why they made the changes they did to it, to me they all look bad. And visibility/cramped-ness inside is somehow even worse than last year.
Yeah, it's infuriating that the car with the worlds greatest price:performance ratio is built like a fucking bunker.
>>14670043
Yea dude, and the SS they had was like $45,000 i think, whereas the Mustang GT was $37,000 iirc. But the SS had magnetic ride and some other shit (idk if the GT does, I thought that was on the GT350). But it still seemed a bit much for an ugly fucking car. I'd be surprised if they keep up the same sales numbers as previous years.
And the GT actually felt roomy for what it was and didn't have windows that LITERALLY came up to my cheek like on the camaro.
Trying to hard to keep with the styling of the past few Camaros while trying to compete with the the styling of the new mustang. Its just not happening.
I want to get a cheap manual trans to learn in and I've always had a soft spot for 80s and 90s Japanese cars with pop up headlights.
Found this for 1800. Think it's worth a look?

>>14670025
Don't buy anything that could be even misinterpreted as sporty, it'll be too trashed for you to properly learn in. Buy a super cheap no-fun shitbox to learn in, keep it in decent shape and turn it when you get the real car you want.
