So a lot of the autism on this board comes from the fear that the manual gearbox is dying, and a 100% electric car takeover signals the death of the manual box.
Whats stopping Tesla (or any other electric car company) from simulating a manual gearbox with their cars? (other than it being utterly pointless, inconvenient, slower and only serving autistic anoraks on /o/)
They could add a fake gear stick and clutch pedal attached to a computer, and simulate gearing by mapping 'gears' to the motor. Imagine it like the Clio RS' sound generator, but instead of just sound you pick the actual car and it would map a profile of its gearing, acceleration, turbo lag, sound, torque curve etc
I-is there hope for the manual gearbox? Is this the most autistic idea you've heard all day?

Lately, coming towards 30; I find that I've lost all my enthusiasm for sports/modded cars, I have two sports cars I am not going to get into branding or whats done to them they are both manuals and fun to drive, I ended up getting a commuter car which is ironically an 09 auto fit sport; no frills just for commuting; lately I find myself using it more and more, even on evenings when I can take the sports cars out I just use my commuter; thinking about getting rid of my sports car and just keeping my commuter, how did this happen? I went from working on my cars, and knowing the latest and greatest to not caring about keeping up at all...has this happened to other anons, I feel like its a inverse mid-life crisis.

I purchased a new car a few days ago and don't know diddle fuck about polishing or waxing. It's black which shows dirt anyhow, but what really drives me crazy are the tiny swirl scratches when the light catches it just right. What do I need to buy and how do I use it to remove these scratches?

I use b in my moostang. Also depends if you keep your foot on the floor.

Got the tranny back in and that's an impossible job solo without an engine hoist. Had a buddy come over and got it in within a few minutes. Only problem was the stripped to help holes for the crossmember.
