Could Horizon Festival work IRL? Gumball gets pretty close but it's a race so they never really stop so you don't get that proper festival feel where you have concerts and set up races on the closed off streets.
I mean we do have concert festivals, and we do have street races. How hard could it be to actually combine these two into a one thing and space it out across a few countries where it'd stay at one place for a week and then move on to another big city?

Will the Chinese fix FCA?
http://jalopnik.com/chinese-automakers-are-reportedly-considering-buying-fi-1797815771
>>17718745
they might fix the finances in the short term. then you'll end up with a Fiats and Dodges that are basically Geelys or BYDs under the body panels.
>>17718817
Fiat and Chrysler already have platforms so why would the Chinese feel the need to insert more? if anything they'd just supply money so FCA can be more ambitious about pursuing goals and projects they probably would've shied away from. they could fix whatever blatant common problems they have with certain cars they already have.
With the way the Chinese have treated Volvo i'm actually a bit optimistic since they seem like they really desire to keep these businesses afloat and/without trying to gut them or insert their own stuff at the expense of what's already there.
Volvo is owned by the Chinese but you wouldn't ever know. honestly i bet if Ford was owned by the Chinese the GT would've been much more likely to get a V8 since Ford would've felt more ambitious and the Chinese just would've encouraged better projects backed with bigger money.
>Chinese buys FCA
>Viper returns but with mid-engine config and this time built to sale to the masses with manual and auto options as a team of chinks autistically study the market.
>Challenger/charger gets a better chassis designed specifically for them that can put power down better (and) corner
>hellcat goes Super Satan and takes on cars nobody ever expects it to
Wouldn't mind this even if the before mentioned don't happen. i have a feeling they'll treat the company right.
>>17718868
they way to fix Fiat and Dodge is to fill them full of chinese made components and drive their prices down to Kia tier.
Volvo has been left alone, more or less, because they're a premium brand.
Is BMW the Apple of cars?
>reputation for being a luxurious brand/status symbol
>you can get a better performing car for cheaper
>most BMW owners are not driving enthusiasts
>non-standard sizes require specialized tools
>excused by enthusiasts as "muh German engineering" when in reality, it's to make more money
>formerly known for great cars, but now they're just cashing in on their reputation with little innovation
>yet still undeniably pretty sleek cars

BMW is for clueless faggots. Their M series has gone to shit lately. Their engines are even more unreliable than they used to be.
Why are so many auto-bloggers attention whores? We get it, you're rich, you didn't work for it, and you have rich friends who drive supercars.

They have to try and fill the emptiness inside of them somehow.

I always wondered what this guy's deal was. I get that he's one of the most prolific YouTube supercar vid channels, but does that really pay well enough to get a McL 675LT, which he has? Did he just come from money?
>>17717955
Yes. 90% of being rich is being born rich.
Is this story familiar in your area?
> be young
> work ass off for years
> eventually afford to buy/build nice hobby car
> get dirty looks from everyone who doesn't have it
I swear it's not as fulfilling to have a kick-ass classic or exotic car these days, outside of the car-specific club gatherings. Nobody in the NorCal sees cool cars as a result of hard work and enthusiasm, they just see them as unattainable objects flaunted by some entitled affluent class of older, usually white dudes. There's no fun in this hobby in California any more. Is it this bad everywhere else?
>>17717749
I make sure too key every new or nice car i see bacause their's no way ppl here can afford them legally
>>17717749
If you've busted your ass to build the car and get dirty looks and get butt hurt about that, then you built the car for the wrong reasons.
I think thats just an attitude that exists everywhere. People cant handle the fact that other people have nicer things than they do. So they get upset and think bad things about the guy with nicer things to make themselves feel better.
Its just jealousy.

Sup /o/,
I have a Chrysler 300 with the 3.6 Pentastar Engine - a couple of days ago I went to overtake a car and my car started misfiring - the check engine light flashed every time I pressed the gas and there was a vibration on the engine. It sorted itself out, and I've had the car at the dealership and it didn't have any error codes.
Now, whenever I'm sitting at a light there will be a small shudder and slight drop in RPM's but goes back to normal - I also find when I accelerate faster there's a bit of delay in throttle response.
I had a cylinder head replaced under warranty but that still didn't figure it out - now the rpms flutter a lot more at idle.

you're getting what you deserve fampai.
you have a lemon
offload it onto an afro american

If its under warranty let them figure it out.
Otherwise check chrysler/dodge forums for whatever engine code it was
Hey so that sticky about buying used cards is out of date. I mean with it being almost 2020. Where's the updated list on used cards?
What would you change?

Anything made before 2010 is going to have more than 150k miles. Some manufactures have gotten way worse build quality like ford and general motors.

You do realize late 90's mid 2000's GM was wayyy worse quality than todays GM

so let's hypothetically assume that, because of how insurance works in my country, getting anything above 2.0 under the age of 25 is practically impossible.
how stupid would it be to get is200 as a first car and later swap 2jz into it?
>>17714959
You'll probably buy an IS200
but you won't ever just "2jz swap" it.
This is real life, not Forza where you just go over to the 2jz crate and boom its swapped. Shits expensive as fuck.
stick to forza horizon
if its just displacement then get a turbod shitbox?
or maybe something like an older lotus if you want snowflake status and fun
>>17714978
i know that its not just "take it to the workshop, take out old, put in a new engine and done in few hours"
if i'll ever swap it depends on how i will do in life
>>17714986
there isnt even a single one sold in my country for less than 15k, which is out of question
I bought a used car recently and I am not sure if the timing belt has been changed. So I am planning to change it myself. There are no "timing belt kits" for the engine that I can find so I will have to buy everything individually. Besides the timing belt, what other parts like gaskets and seals should I replace?
>it is a older Diesel engine with mechanical injectors if that matters
Don't worry about it until it breaks. Older engines can have the timing belt break and it's not a big deal.
>>17714071
The best way to go about this is to just check the timing belt for signs of wear. If it has cracks, missing teeth, then yes replace it. Otherwise just keep running the one it came with. If you tell me exactly what engine you have I can tell you if it's interference or non-interference. Most motors don't have a gasket around the timing belt cover, but while you're down there I recommend you replace cam shaft and crank shaft seals.
>>17714219
It's a 2LT, it's non-interference. I've heard about looking at the timing belt, but I don't quite understand how to manage that without getting to the point where it's just easy enough to replace it.
