Why can the engine still put power to the wheels even when the clutch is not fully out, with your foot off the clutch?
From what I know about how they work the clutch seems like an all or nothing type of deal. Yet I know you can get most cars and motorcycles can get moving if you let the clutch out slowly enough on level ground.
>>14783514
why do people ask so many retarded questions here now? fuck off and google it you wanker
Because the clutch isn't an on or off thing, it's a gradual thing. With the clutch in, it lets the engine and transmission spin at different speeds.
>>14783514
If the clutch is partially engaged it's just touching the flywheel lightly so only a little bit of torque transfers through it.

I can feel Henry Ford roll in his fucking grave.
What the fuck happened to the company that hand crafted reliable yet affordable American automobiles for the middle class families? Now, you can't even buy a new f150 without a loan for fuck's sake unless you're rich. Now they're going to hire dirty Mexican workers to build cars. I'm sticking with older fords thank you.
good maybe then ford will just fucking move everything to mexico
including their shitty cars
then i dont have to look at them any more
>>14783495
Didn't they just get finished making a big deal about moving F650 production to the states?
>>14783495
Maybe the quality will improve.
Ford a shit anyway.

is it blasphemous to put this on my car when I dont actually have any alpina racing parts?
Thoughts?
>>14782883
>alpina racing parts?
alpina isn't a tuner ya dummy
as cringeworthy as putting amg badges on a basic benz

>>14782883

How does everyone feel about lapis blue pearl on the '16 sti?
I like that shade better than the other blue one in the pic
It helps to make that wing less noticeable, so that is good.
world rally blue and gold rims or its not a real STI
What's wrong with buying a new car, /o/?
Full story: I just got a part time job (unifag) and my parents are pressuring me into buying a new car. My dad says it'll have less problems and if I were to get a used car I would still be making the same payments. I've been making the rounds in a beater from the last millennium with 250k miles on it that burns oil and gets terrible mileage, but I think getting a new car would be living beyond my means considering I have rent and electricity, not to mention tuition, to pay.
Also my dad will insist on cosigning so if I lose my job or run into an unexpected expense unrelated to the car, they'll have to help me out while I find a new job, and they're not exactly financially well off right now.
I feel like it's opposite world, with me wanting a used car from a few years back and my parents pressuring me into getting a brand new one.
I've already brought up depreciation and the fact that my job isn't really secure, but they keep insisting.
>tl;dr help me convince my parents that new cars are a waste of money
>pic unrelated
The second you buy a new car you are losing money on your investment.
My parents pressured me the same and I ended up giving into to getting a new car but I work a stable government job so I don't really have to worry about it financially, I also have 2 shit boxes to fall back on if I can't make the payments on the new one anymore. Just do what you feels right.
>>14784196
I've already mentioned depreciation thinking they would understand what it means but I guess they don't really care since I'm the one that's going to be paying.

Is it possible to make a v6 sound good?
Depends on the v6.

I think the GTR sounds good

Why hasn't Mitsubishi gone out of business?
They're going to stop making the Evo, the Lancer has been on the same model for the past 9 years, and their shitty crossover isn't selling well. Why is this company still up?
I used to own a 2013 Lancer ES. It was unbelievably shitty. The car was loud in a bad way, sluggish, and the sound system was atrocious. It didn't make any sense either. It had bluetooth, yet no aux jack nor a usb plug. The CVT took like 3 seconds to change from reverse to drive. It was one of the worst cars I've ever owned.
Take a look at sales figures around the rest of the world then realize mitsubishi has never and will never give a single fuck about the north American market
>>14778689
So why not cut losses and pull out of the US? Their entire lineup here is a fucking joke and they don't sell at all.
>>14778874
My friend who's the parts manager for our local mitsu dealer told me they will be out of North America in the next 5 years. I'm not suprised really, I wouldn't buy a single Mitsubishi that's not an evo/ralliart
2014 Fiesta ST for $15,787. 21k miles, drove it twice, its in excellent condition. Cash.
Do it?
>>14772372
What options m8?
If it's a base model, don't bother. You can get a new one for like 19k OTD.
>>14772381
Nav, Moon Roof, Audio package.
No recaro seats, but I don't want those anyway.
>>14772400
Nav was a $700 factory option that you could probably find on the internet and enable yourself,, audio package was standard on all USDM Fiesta ST's I believe (at least it was on the 15s), moon roof is a very nice option but it does add weight and removes some headroom.
Overall I think if you could talk them down a bit it'd be a really good deal.
You could also finance a base one for $19k and have a new car though, so keep that in mind when you see the OTD price of $17k.
Eurofags of /o/,
I'm looking to buy a project car soon, basically a shitbox I wanna make somewhat fast on a budget. I want the car to be easily available in decent condition, easy to work on and as cheap as possible. So far I've come up with this list
>Suzuki Swift / Subaru Justy
Basically the same car except Justy is AWD and only comes with carburated 1.3 engine, while the Swift has fuel injection
>Civic
self explanatory
>Mazda 323 5th gen
I guess only the 1.5l engine version is worth getting, since its more modern than the 1.3l SOHC, the 1.8l versions are much more expensive
>Mazda MX-3
Again, the V6 version is too expensive so its either of the 1.6l engines
Any other cars to consider? Bear in mind that they have to be available in yurop.
>>14781137
Astra GSI or an older OPC
Your money is better spent on the tools and knowledge to make stuff faster. Go get a welder and learn how to weld. Once you know how to do that you can make a shit box go faster for a fraction of the cost of just buying aftermarket parts.
>>14781191
Astra GSI costs around 15k PLN (3,5k euro), while the cars I mentioned in the OP cost around 2-4k PLN, which is like 1k euro + I don't want a fast car, I want a car I will make fast.
This being /o/, I'm sure most of you can. Just curious what the percentage of the users can.
A Vantage v12? I can't drive that shit, I'm a poor fag, and who's gonna let me borrow their aston?
I'll stick to my manual miata, thanks.
>>14780222
would u ever buy an auto miata?
>>14780217
I can get it moving.
But drive it well? Nope.
What cars are miata-adjacent?
They're cars with similar qualities to a miata, but they aren't... quite there. Not necessarily bad, just different.
They aren't miatas. They're ADJACENT to miatas. Aren't better, aren't worse. But they aren't miatas.
>>14779320
Looks wise they kinda remind me of a mini version of a onevia
>>14779320
Imagine a MR-layout Miata. That's an MR2/MR-S.
Now imagine a Miata with unusable backseats and a hardtop. That's the 86/FR-S/BRZ.
>>14779320
So cars that have similar qualities to the Miata?
240SX
E30
MR2
Celica
S2000
RX-7
AE86
Quick /o/, my girlfriend needs a car.
She wants something small and cute.
I say Toyota Yaris and she says Volkswagen Beetle. What other options are there for ~$3,000 cute 2-door subcompacts?
For some reason Ive always wanted to see my girl driving a last-gen Thunderbird. But she has a phobia of cars...

If I paid the person who made this I would be angry.
