Nearly got me killed today. Had to make a few sharp maneuvers into oncoming traffic to avoid a bunch of retards causing an accident. Tried to spin the wheels to turn faster and ended up with no power in front of an oncoming truck.

If the tires are too expensive Tire Rack won't offer it. I only have road hazard on my front MPSS for this reason, rears are wider and more expensive.

So I've been looking at trucks on Craigslist. So far my choices have been narrowed down to Ford Ranger, Jeep Cherokee/Grand Cherokee, and the Honda CR-V. I can afford about $300-$500 per month in total car costs, and I plan on saving up about $4k to $6k before buying used. Which one should I pick, and why? What are the differences between the four (and especially between the Cherokee and the GC)? What is the cost-to-own for the most and least costly body styles/engines? Best for mudding and climbing rocks? Easiest first car? I picked these because I am a college student who still hauls family without DLs and their stuff, and I want something that I actually own myself and that's at least slightly more fun than the Chevy Venture shitbox that my parents own and that I currently drive.

Would there be any demand for a barebones basic pick up? Just something you can sell as a cheap utility vehicle for people who don't need a nice truck to daily drive, just a work truck to beat up on the job.
Pure utilitarianism as far as design goes, vinyl seats, maybe like bedliner on the floor no carpet or anything to be easy to clean and resilient, diesel engine, 8 foot bed, ability to accept a fifth wheel and pull trailers.
Have a high load capacity too, maybe 5/4 tons like the military trucks, but not sure if anyone would really use that much power.

Mahindra was working on releasing what you just described, more or less, a number of years ago though their tractor dealers. I think they backed off between gov't regulations and a perceived lack of sales. A bare-bones truck would dip into the used market, and I know a lot of people that would rather spend $15k on a second-hand Cummins Dodge than anything new.

Where I live, unmolested 4x4s are almost double that of 2WD. I'd mostly be going up into the mountains.

I was thinking about engines. The engines in the 797F truck put out 3800 hp each - couldn't you rig one of those to a foxbody or panther chassis and get a mean track day or mountain road machine? I wonder why we haven't consistently broken the 3000 hp meter yet.

Alright boys I'm sort of running out of ideas here. The timing chain on my E90 snapped last night and I am trying to work out if i've gone and mangled my valves.
Without using a scope, is there any way of checking for valve damage while the chain is off the car?
Would suck to fit a new chain and shit only to find the whole thing has to come apart again.

So my Ex boyfriend decided to pour about 2cups of bleach into my crankcase? (im not sure of the correct term) where the oil pours into.
so how bad is that? its a 1992 honda accord lx which takes 3.8L of regular oil.
ive been driving the car for about 3 days with the bleach in it... and have no other car to use to get to and from work..
(yes I did report him to the police and that is being dealt with)
my concern is what can/will happen? and how much time do I realistically have..
