Let's just build the same slow revving V8 we've had for 70 years and call it a super car
>be European
Let's make a staggered W16 engine pushing 1000bhp for a commercial car

Does anyone have any tips for driving a manual without a tachometer?
also manual general discussion i guess
Use your ears
>>14810045
This.
You will naturally develop a sense for when to shit.
5 speed without a tach. I'm guessing Chevy Cavalier or Toyota Corolla?
>>14810037
Shift at 20-40-60-70/80 km/h
Try shifting at lower speeds if driving straight ahead or downhill
The footplay will come within a couple of days
Is there a car with 3 bench seats?

Would rather drive a neon than a cvpi.
You're a terrible friend btw
Not really unless it was a Prius c. That's about what they cost and you can make a decent living as an uber or a lyft driver with one
>>14817866
Friends don't let friends finance Priuses. This is partially your fault, you should have made him buy a $5000 Corolla/civic
And theres that mazda in an "expo" cars dealers. Shall I enter and make a pic with it?
slav squat in front of it and take a selfie

You should go in their and make a scene
I know its a "formula" mazda but I dont remember the model name. Help.
This is called a parking brake, not emergency brake.

It's a drift handle, fag. get it right or pay the price.

It's called Handbrake you penis.
Why aren't these in road cars yet?
>>14816336
modern turbos on modern engines already spool just fine. Go drive a new M3
>>14816336
I wonder just how many amps have to be running to that thing as 12v to make it effective. I was under the impression that a good electric fan was about the max limits of a passenger car 12 volt system.
>>14816366
>implying they're still maxing out at 12v
there are lots of cars that already have 48v board electricity
Where were you when BMW stopped making ultimate driving machines and started making overpriced barges for people to pose in?

I wasn't alive when BMW was founded.
My car is kill.
Repairs would cost 6800€ (insurance would pay it), but the guy at the workshop offered to buy it for 7200€.
As you can see it's a Peugeot 207, now 6 years old with 67k km. It's got 120 hp and is my first car, my dad leased it and then we bought it last year for 5k €.
So do I just have it repaired and hope they will do a good enough job so that it will live another 5 years? Or do I take the 7,2k and buy a new (used) car?
I found some other used Peugeots with less mileage for 5-7k, but idk anything about used cars. I could get a dodge caliber for the same price, or all kinds of shitboxes but idk.
What would you do/buy in my situation?
>>14812203
Fix it to running condition and drive it until the wheels fall off
>>14812211
Can't just drive anything that runs on the road in yurop.
>>14812211
Will it be as reliable? Idk how good you can fix these things but I imagine that a crash will put a lot of stress and wear on all parts
There is nothing wrong with these cars
1 doesnt look like an old shitty kit car
the other uses a V6 that is better than the V8s the old ones used
those are problems to /o/ apparently
One is a hybrid abomination that does not deserve the name.
The other an actual carefully engineered modern supper car
The Ford gt is great and all but it's very expensive. You can get a Ferrari for less.
Looking to buy my first car, budget is 4k, can stretch it to 5k possibly.
I've been looking at the mazda 3 and the bmw series 3. What about the audi a4?
what are the pros and cons of each one?
It's going to be used as a daily driver mostly, but I want something that is somewhat sporty and fun to drive.

ITT: We imagine what it would be like if a "Back To The Future" reboot was made today.
The time machine would not be a DeLorean, but a 1997 Plymouth Prowler, and instead of going back to 1955, they'd go back to 1998.
A number of jokes would be made saying how the sounds of a dial-up internet connection sounded like a Skrillex song.
>>14817416
>The time machine would not be a DeLorean, but a 1997 Plymouth Prowler
hmm...
>both failed, low-volume RWD sports cars
>both have been derided as underpowered with factory V6 engines (even if the Plymouth had almost double the power of the DeLorean)
>both featured iconic exotic styling for their times that has not been seen before or since.
I can see that actually...
Marty would be female
Doc would be female
Whole thing would be narrated because nobody can pay attention for that long anymore without thinking that even the act of watching is work
Biff would still be male
All time travel parts would be poorly rendered CG with way too many nintendo tier cartoon animations
Einstein would be a cat
Doc having sent him first through time without knowing for sure what would happen would be heralded as animal abuse by online newspapers
The time machine would only need to go up to 50 as to not break local speed laws and keep in mind that you also need to think fourth dimensionally and not break the speed laws of where you're going back to
>>14817447
Marty would be a Subaru-driving lesbian named Marcia.
How do you take on a dealership and win? Is it possible? Can I avoid being screwed if I go in fully aware that they'll try to screw me? As long as I point out shit wrong with the car they'll bring the price down right? Or is private my only option?
Are you buying or selling?
Unless they're actively trying to get rid of the car I.e. back lot special your going to end up paying more to a dealership than to a private party unless the private party is also truly a "don't really need to sell" type. Dealerships have the space and float to let you walk away and they have to make a decent profit to maintain that float. However of you do walk away and leave a deal that's actually acceptable for both parties a dealership will call you back. If you tell them you're going to go look at a similar car somewhere else they may not even let you walk away. These are good tips but you still well end up paying a certain premium just because it's sitting at a dealership (unless they think it's shit in which case they may practically give it to you)

Avoid the delgroid.
So I'm about to buy a used Mazda 3 from november 2014. She's got 22.000km , fully equipped with all the gadgets, a new set of tire and dark gunmetal wheels.
The guy is asking 19.000€ that's 21.659$
pic related is the car
Should I go for it ?
Forgot to mention it's a 2.0i Sport 120hp engine
>>14816951
No. Go buy a civic for <5k
up
I've got a £7000 budget (I'm leaving 2000 in reserve for maintenance, shitty mawds etc) and I was looking at AE86s I know these are popular on /o/ but obviously not as amazing as they are in the cartoon. What are they like on an everyday basis?
I've seen a few, but these caught my eye, although I don't want to have to deal with shady importers.
