>The year is 1991, Bathurst
>Ford and Holden cucks are meme'ing about their v8 supercars
>Muh displacement!
>Muh torque!
>Muh cylinders!
>Nissan quietly sits in the corner, not saying anything
>The race begins
>Skyline GTR overtakes one, after another, after another
>Carnage on the field, holden bogan fans are dismayed, they don't know how a v6 is beating them
>Ford fans furious hollering for their pigfat "supercars" to go faster
>GTR is not even half throttle, keeps taking them on the corners
>Cocky holden tries to overtake the nissan and go toe to toe on the corner
>Spins out and crashes because CAN'T TURN
>GTR just sails through the corner like it's nothing
>Later on, they ban GTR because they're so buttmad they lost to 4wd and v6

I'm not even trolling, this is actual fact. If you want to make a bogan mad and have nightmare flashbacks, mention 1991.

TAKES THE BOGANS 20 YEARS TO COME CLOSE

What's the matter, took you 20 years to beat 90's technology?

If it's such "japcrap" why can't you beat it??

Hi /o/

So I know a lot about 240s, I've been into them for a while and have been searching for one for about 3 months. However, it's really hard for me to find one that isn't a drift missle, molested, or beat to hell.
Recently the fox body has caught my eye. I love the boxyness and the spoiler. I found several unmolested around me for great prices. They're a lot more abundant is what it seems like.

Now I will always want a turbo i4 or i6, and popup lights. But I don't know much about carburetors or the v8 in the mustang. I don't plan on being a drift fag, but I like nimble cars.

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of each? Also any information on the fox body would be much appreciated.

Also no miatakeks

I'm going to be going to Washington state for the summer for an internship. I've been looking at the sticky for a car to choose, and i'm wondering what would we a rather easy car to buy, and then sell at the end of the summer, because I'm not going to need the car after the summer. Something on the sportier side would be nice, and I was thinking that I would like a manual.

TLDR: Sportier manual car for under $3000 that is easy to sell.

Every Miata I find for under $3000 looks like a 17 year old jizzed over it, which makes me believe they probably ran it to shit. 18 f cali

Just make sure it runs reliably enough and go. Stop worrying and making up stupid bull shit excuses and go.

The first time I went was in an old, rusty, POS gonna with an auto, the shitty single cam D series, and worn out all seasons. It was the most fun is ever had.

Just go and do it.

If you want to be competitive. Get a new car.

What the hell is this? Coolant started pouring out of it when the cooling fan failed and the engine started running hot while I was sitting in the car, shitposting here.

I thought the water pump gasket failed, but I found out that it's pouring out of this tiny hole... I don't think it's part of the water pump, I'm sure that's located lower than this spot.

Anyway, it's on the right side of the front of the engine, facing towards the firewall. It's on a 1990 Honda Accord.

Why is it that everywhere I look online that everyone says OHV is outdated?

Honestly it does have it's cons (not the ones you think but usually just valve float, pushrods can actually go up to 13,000rpm if it's built for it) but it being smaller in size and simpler to work on in general kind of outweighs those. It can also be 4 valves per cylinder if the designer so chooses.

Tell me /o/, what's your opinions on this?

Pic related, a 4.6L DOHC next to a 302 OHV

here's an example of a 4 valve pushrod aftermarket setup.

(as far as I know Arao was a scam artist and copied this design from an older company)

Can't do anything like VTEC or other variable valve timing on a pushrod, aka invalidating like half of engine development of the last couple of decades. Oldtech is badtech.

I have a little bit of a dilemma.

I love cars, really much. I had an Frs that I was planning to start tuning but was involved in an accident that sent it straight to write-off land.

I went to the bmw dealership afterward and my dad purchased a new x5 (without me realizing he was purchasing it for me). This x5 has everything you can dream of in terms of features, and the amount of comfort and tech vs my Frs is like night and day.

But.. I still feel something missing. I think I'd be much happier with a sports car as a daily driver. I currently make 70k a year and my dad basically handed me an 80k vehicle, I guess as a graduation gift. I'm still 23.

Should I just say fuck it to my urges and appreciate what I have? I really don't know what to do. I could give the car to him and get my own shitbox but my gut tells me the wise thing to do is to secure myself financially and buy a car when I'm 28-30.

bro.

if you make 70 grand a year, and you just received a free BMW x5, then you have 8-10 years of having a comfortable, advanced daily driver.
Then with the amount of money you make, you could afford a true drivers car, like a second hand lotus or porsche.

DD the x5, i've been in a few and they are great big things.
Buy a weekend car, something too hardcore to drive everyday, but just enough to make you love driving.

spend the rest of your money mortgaging a house with a garage. But definitely don't sell an 80k gift. That's nuts. Especially considering you would never get 80k out of it. You're 23, if you decide you hate the x5 in five years, sell it. But right now just appreciate it. Getting a car that expensive is more than 95% of people (read americans) can expect from their parents.

Just put off getting married while you buy the porsche because believe me the second you get a woman pregnant or marry her your dreams get postponed till you are 55. Live the dream anon, buy a sportscar and garage that bitch. Keep the x5.

It's the same in any car you just need more room. There's a technique to it, it doesn't have to be guesswork.

I learnt to do it in a limousine.

Say you were going to pick up a pic related with the intention of modding it for power. Say 400-500hp. At that level would the clutch of a manual transmission be too heavy for daily driving, and thus an autotragic be a better option?

Right, but can a stock clutch handle that much power, or would you have to look into heavy duty clutches.
