> live in rural area, all my friends have a car
> stumble across a short but nice stretch of road, about 670m or 2200 feet long
> create a start and finish line (pic related)
> Start having time races and fill a table
> I drive my 60 bhp 1999 Suzuki Wagon, it only weighs some 860 kg and is very nimble but the engine is the definition of slow
> I claim the top of the time sheets with a 37,30 seconds
> Some guy claims he will beat my time with this familiy's Renault Espace
> Diesel
> Says his dad chipped it so it makes some 230 bhp
> I say rubbish and that his whale of a car will never beat my small and nimble Suzuki under normal conditions
> He turns 18 and learns the track in a different car
> Brings the fucking Espace
> destroys my time and comes on top with a 34,42
> I'm in shambles
Was I wrong in saying that the track favours handling over power? My driving is pretty much on the limit, I even have to heel-and-toe entering the Audi Kurve. How can I find 3 seconds on this short track?
>>14908273
Homie that's like 90 percent sstraight aways. If any car can then turn half a damn, they got it.
Imagine that you both are equally as good in terms of cornering.
His car is faster in the straights, do the math senpai.
Too few curves to make use of your handling. Obviously he'll pull away, his car makes 3 times as much horsepower as yours.
On another note, I wish I had friends like this.
What music do you listen to while driving?
Hard mode: No Eurobeat
I find vaporwave pretty relaxing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs7kjvhwHlw
>>14907947
>finds vaporwave pretty relaxing
>listens to normiewave
step up your game my dude and listen to japanese jazz rock or city pop
I don't listen to music. I'm either listening to sports talk radio, talk radio or NPR.
>>14907953
Japanese jazz is good too. I have an album of DDBY works to listen to on the commute as well.
How would i go about cleaning these aluminum rims. Tried pressure wash and there are still some problems. Chemicals? Grinding wheel?
>>14907906
If you grind on those, be prepared to clearcoat them, or you'll just end up with more oxidation.
Those look fucked but a rag, brake dust remover and some elbow grease should bring you some good results
>>14907906
S.O.S pads work really well
>born in central/eastern euro country (PL)
>vast majority cant afford a new car and still has to save cash to buy some used diesel wagon from german
>meanwhile im america working class people can save enough to buy cars like mustang AND afford to fill the tank every week
why live?
>>14907859
Here's why.
>>14907859
>meanwhile im america working class people can save enough to buy cars like mustang AND afford to fill the tank every week
lmao no
most americans lease new cars and rack up shitloads of debt
Cause in 'Murica any retard with a few $ can get their license. In yurope it's much more expensive and much harder to get a license, as well as cars and fuel being more expensive in general.
At least we don't have a crazy tax on Japs
haven't driven manual in 6 years, new job requires me driving manual car, no manual to practice on, help me refresh my memory on here please!
>>14907832
Left one down, Right one middle.
Left one up, Right one Right.
Move stick accordingly.
>>14907856
That is one fucked up pattern
Don't real cars have a shift pattern of left one up, left one down, middle up, middle down, right one up, right one down with a lockout for reverse?
>>14907914
I have that without the lockup
So long story short, an 1989 International Harvester van that looks like this (picture in the ad was just thumbnail resolution, this image related is a GMC van but it looks almost the same) is for sale and I'm overwhelmed with feelings of just putting all my stuff in there and driving to the other coast. I'd have enough room for a bed and the one for sale even has a spot for a generator. So /o/, I have a few questions.
>How crazy is this?
>Anyone here ever live in a van or go on a very long road trip in this kind of way?
>How hard or expensive would it be to fix common issues on this kind of vehicle?
>What's gas mileage like on this diesel engine?
Thanks fellas.
>>14907570
Look up Mercedes Benz Sprinter RV conversions. You can learn all you need from those.
International vehicles are simple to repair and their parts are not particularly expensive but they are uncommon. You may end up stuck for days waiting on a part. Haul a moped or other small motorbike with you for emergencies or just to save fuel on short trips. Diesel fuel economy isn't great.
Too bad Vandweller doesn't post anymore.
My fetish is cars with europe travel stickers on the back
please post them
Bonus points for germany
>>14907530
better start travelling
Alright, /o/
Imagine you're going to start a very exclusive underground racing group, much like the old Mid Night Club.
>What do you call it?
>What are the requirements to join?
>Ultimate Darkness Racing
>Gotta make me like you, otherwise you won't get into my secret treeh-I mean club.
>>14907418
I'd call it the late night club
you'd need a car that can do at least 160mph to join
>underground racing
But Anon, it's legal here.
My uncle has just bought me a supercar driving experience. I get to drive 3 cars.
What do I drive?
Ariel Atom
Audi R8
Porsche 911
Ferrari F430
Nissan GTR
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Lamborghini Gallardo
I was thinking the GTR and the Ariel Atom, but I'm unsure about the third.
Any advice?
>>14907310
Renault Twingo
>>14907310
3 corollas
>>14907310
F430 bruh, it'd set a benchmark for you of what a supercar should be.
Also
- ok mpg
- reliable
- durable (2000miles roadtrip)
Buick Lesabre / Park Avenue
comfy as fuck, 3800 motor is bulletproof, can come supercharged, but mpg is eh.
>>14907858
Seconded, but I would say any buick before the current generation. Like 2005 stuff and before is cheap, reliable, and comfy as fucc
>>14907858
was gonna say this. had a '96 LeSabre from 2008-2010, 3800 got nearly 30mpg highway and was like driving down the road on a couch. would recommend.
Just picked up a new car. 2004 S2000 that has been well taken care of. Paint is in amazing shape for being 12 years old.
Only thing that bothers me is the two dents with paint chips in them.
Got a quote for $300 to deal with both of them.
Could really care less about the dents, I do however want to get the paint dealt with, especially on the small rust spot.
Would you do it yourself or take to bodyshop?
I just don't want to fuck it up, want to deal with it and not have to worry anymore.
Right rear fender
Don you live in socal and go to Wells Fargo?
Left rear fender
>Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (FCHA.MI) said on Friday it is recalling more than 1.1 million cars and SUVs worldwide because the vehicles may roll away after drivers exit.
>The automaker said the recall is linked to as many as 41 injuries because drivers mistakenly believed they had placed the vehicles in park before exiting.
>Fiat Chrysler said it will update the vehicles to automatically prevent them from moving, under certain circumstances, even if the driver fails to put the vehicle in park.
YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP, AUTOFAGS ARE LITERALLY TOO RETARDED TO PARK THEIR CARS
I refuse to believe this is real.
there is no hope
>>14907076
I work at a CDJR dealer. It is real and idiotic.
I think my wound is trying to tell me something.
Burnt myself on a brake rotor.
>>14906763
>didn't burn his self on his exhaust manifold
It's like you don't want your knuckles to melt.
Conveniently left no scars tho
Telling you to wear gloves.
So I went near pic related tonight to clear my head a bit and get away from the city. Anybody got any recommendations for good routes through the mountains here in southern california? glendora ridge road looks pretty good, might check it out another time.
Also, how do I not kill myself or anybody else while driving around up there? My old focus is fairly nimble, but the tires are budget tier. How close to the recommended speed posted on yellow signs is safe? Even doing 45 through a turn with a yellow posted sign of 35 felt borderline not safe.
Holy shit anon... you are too retarded to be hitting up mountain roads. Please stay the fuck away.
I can see 7 things wrong in your post, can you tell me what they are?
>>14906740
That bad huh. I guess it's pretty dangerous when you don't know what you don't know.
>>14906748
>it's pretty dangerous when you don't know what you don't know
Precisely my point.
Think about everything that can go wrong and educate your self into safety. You want the best sources of information available, /o/ is one of the worst.
Explain why theses aren't use as parking lots instead of massive oversized lots.
price
breaking
maintenance
what if you really need to take a shit but there's no toilet paper in the stall at work so you have to run to your car and open your trunk to get the toilet paper you keep in your trunk
this would take so long with the multiple tower system i would probably shit my pants AND get fired
>>14906527
Expensive to operate and repair. When you can install some electronic ticket giver and a moving gate on entrance and exit people can pay for by themselves. Can you imagine if some ass hat crashed into your carport tower and it tipped over?
