Guys, it is 2016. Why aren't we using a better restraint system than nylon belts? Seat belts break bones, yeah this is better than hitting the dash or getting ejected but I don't think we need to make that kind of compromise anymore.
We have the technology to spread out forces across the entire body using a vacuum membrane restraint system. That same technology can replace the function of a head and neck support if used to cover the head. Once implemented all safety development could be focused on constructing better safety cells rather than wasted on trying to protect a loose human flying around the cockpit. Think about it. Safety would be all or nothing, once properly engineered any accident at road legal speeds would result in zero injuries.
Pic very much related. In application that would probably be only the inner most layer, which would then be covered in tubes for cooling (like a cool suit) and kevlar/wire mesh to prevent injury from accident debris.

my answer: tinted windows
>Emulating HANS device function (obviously you would want a breathing hole and better optics for the eyes

You know what's even better and actually practical?

lol why are they trolling themselves?
>practicing driving
>a pair of cyclist literally in the middle of the fucking road on the wrong fucking lane cycling right at me with no effort to get out of the way
whoever wrote the law that says cyclist=cars needs to get shanked
>>14957761
the problem is fucking cops are too lazy to enforce laws when cyclists blow through red lights, cut through lanes, etc. if cops made more of an effort to ticket them like cars, cyclists would quit being such fucking pricks
>live in cali
>dumbass spandex-tards fucking everywhere
>ride in the street even though we have some of the best bike routes in the country
>every time im on my motorcycle they crowd my lane
>ride as close as possible and rev bomb the shit out of them
Fuck cyclists.

Uh oh wealthy people are out having fun and staying in great shape while you throw a tantrum in your sad econobox on your way to your shit job. Better whine about it on the internet, that will make everything better.
If I managed to to get a good price on the Jeep Cherokee 2016 should I take it? I heard it has Transmission problems though
>>14957639
manual transmission = no problem ;)
....good luck
>>14957643
All jeeps are automatics except wranglers nowadays anyway
What's /o/'s opinion on Maserati? In my opinion I think they are a fantastic company and make great cars.
best car car company logo ever
>>14957587
I agree. It's a shame they only make bloated fat-mobiles for rappers now.
>>14957587
Wrong.
sup /o/
I have a 2007 infiniti m45s (4.5L)
I haven't done much too it other than putting a full Greddy exhaust system.
Problem is my cats are fucked. Not trying to take it to infiniti cause their prices are insane.
I'm trying to figure out what would be best for my car, I wanted to go with magnaflow but I can't seem to find one to fit my car. I have a mechanic friend who lives states away who recommended this one
>EASTERN CATALYTIC 41075 - this is what was reccomended, its the first result at rockauto
The mechanic I took it to said all "4" were bad. I didn't even know my car had 4. I thought it was 2.
i also don't live in cali and am a dealer so passing inspection doesnt matter to me, just want whats best for me at a good price.
tl;dr Does my car need 2 or 4 cats? and what would you recommend for an affordable cat? also direct fit or universal.
>pic unrelated
straight pipe nigga

not trying to sound like a retard. I love the sound of my current exhaust.
Are Scion xB's good daily drivers? I'm highly considering buying one, either a 2011 or 2012 model.
They're depreciated as fuck, which is great for me since I want a car that will last 10+ years with relatively little maintenance issues, great reliability, and practicality.
The only concern I have is that it uses a previous generation Camry 2.4L, which I heard had issues in the 1st gen Scion tC if I'm not mistaken.
>>14957360
avoid. 2008+ xB's are trash. The 2.4L engine is known for oil consumption among other problems. If you must have an xB, go for a 2004-2006 model. The 2008+ cB was repeatedly Scion's least reliable model.
As for the tC. Same problems. The only good tC's are the 2011+ 2.5L models.
>>14957423
Consumer Reports rated the 2013 xB as the most reliable car in America that year. You don't get that title with problems like that.
Second gens have a lot of issues
First gens are pretty basic but they really only need an alternator every three timing belts/90k.
Seats are comfy as fuck
Stock stereo system is fucking nice
Amazing mpg on city driving, not so much on highway because aerodynamics and its 2500-3000rpm at hwy speeds.
Has a 1.5 which is basicly a bigger prius motor, so it's not exactly the fastest
For being a tall car, it handles pretty damn good
I've had an 05 since 113k miles and its now got 193.
On it's 3rd belt since ownership, 2nd alternator.
Sounds a bit like a blender grinding coffee beans.
Overall 9/10 car, spacious as fuck i mean the inside is as big as a damn shed. If you can get one under 120-150k miles for under 4k, you won't regret it.
I'm still a fan of the 2008 r32.
What about you?
>>14957344
>VW
lol are you a mechanic and a fan of it because it makes you get money because it is in your shop all the time?
haha!
>>14957357
>mkv gti just went over 120k
>no major problems yet
WHEN IS IT GOING TO HAPPEN
>>14957357
lol pwned!
>tfw people bully me for driving pic related
It doesn't help being a 5'10.3 black manlet either
How do i get people to stop bullying me? It's not my choice to drive the car..
People bully people for the car they drive?
Anime vinyl wrap, its the only answer
>>14957292

buy the car you want you cuck
A guy is offering me a porsche 911 from the year 2000 for 9000 dollars. It has driven 125 000 km, and has no visible damage. Is this a good deal? Never owned a car before. Pic related is the car
>>14957274
Make sure you have another $15,000 for maintenance.
Op here. Just found out that the car has been rebuilt at Warp TM motor powered in the Us. What does this mean?
>>14957274
Yeah something is probably fucked with it.
Look for something newer ait will be worth the extra $$ to avoid the full service that thing will definitely need.
I bought a 2009 Cayman for $28K and the only thing I have had to do to it in two years is buy a full set of new tires ($800)

water
soap
microfiber rags
>>14957255
This stuff is great for frameless windows, by the way. Put it on all the weatherstripping and any other rubber and it'll make it seal better and feel new again. You can get it at honda dealers.
I just got a window tint. I know bubbles will go away in the first week but I have this kind of bubble extending to the very edge. Will this go away on its own?
>>14957218
>>14957321
Cant see shit man.
>>14957321
Yeah they fucked up the tint that's a huge bubble
You probably lowered the windows
What's something like a Chaser that you can get in the US?
I want a highway car that's manual and RWD with 4 seats.
I would consider an X80 Cressida even though it's auto only but 22 mpg highway fuck that shit.
>>14957030
I helped two different friends swap in a W55/58 into an 89/89 Cressida.
Literally 3 hours of work.
>>14957030
Something new, you mean?
Is 4-doors a requirement?
>>14957211
No, actually hoping for pre-2000 because of styling, and 4 doors is not a requirement, but 4 seats is. I can't do 2 anymore

Anybody here drive a Subaru? Looking to replace my focus in the near future and I hear good things about Subaru. Want something with AWD that isn't too big. Was thinking about an Impreza or a crosstrek maybe, any opinions on those?
WRX's are good.
>>14956623
>ugly modern car design
>>14956623
Had one for about 7k miles. Love mine. Haven't had any problems with it. Crosstrek isn't bad, but it's pretty gutless.
