>tfw almost at 10k miles
>tfw almost high mileage
How do you deal with having a piece of shit high mileage car? Should I try to trade in before I hit the big 10k?
>>15013643
>10K miles
>high mileage
lolwut?
The only thing "HIGH" here is you, bud.
Come back when you're over 150K mileage
Of course with proper routine maintenance a car should run just as well at 150K as it did at 10K

any other car i'd agree though.

Supercharger, because it performs more like N/A, which I prefer.
no

>I purchased a 2015 Pilot brand new and have had for 1 yr and they tell me I need new rotors and they are not covered. So basically every year they are telling me I need to replace my rotors. Really this is totally unacceptable for a reputable company as Honda is suppose to be. I should have NEVER!!! purchased this vehicle. This is absurd. They will not replace these under the warranty of 3 years 30.000 miles. Really this is a very bad situation that they have put me in. At this time I may just have my attorney get involved and then after I will make certain everyone knows not to purchase a honda because they lie about their warranties.
>>15012277
>2011 STI 41k miles and it blew a head gasket. Subaru won't warranty it because of a aftermarket turbo back exhaust. I had my VW longer with way more mod and never had an issue. Subarus have head gasket issues and for them to deny my warranty because of some dumb mod so they don't have to fix their issues is a bunch of garbage. I'll buy an Audi or BMW next time.
>these are the people you're associated with
>I have a 2011 Outback and I first had to add a quart of oil around 95K miles. My son in law said that they probably didn't fill it full when my oil was changed last. So I think anything of it although I told them about it and brought it for an oil change. They didn't bother to tell me about "excess oil consumption" while I was under an extended warranty. So I got the full synthetic oil change and was told the next change is due in 7K miles. At 4000 mi. the oil light came on and it was 2 quarts low! I am furious that I was not told about this while was under a warranty! Now I have 103K mi. and they probably won't offer any assistance.
Would you rather have a fully loaded older car, or a brand new base model car?
The former seems obvious, so why do I see base model Camaros and shit everywhere?
>>15012272
Because "newer is better" mentality.
probably an older car because i'm a cheapskate that's going to crash it some time
Depends on the condition of the used car.

I don't know much on cars and neither am I an Aussie.
But isn't an Ute actually a car converted into a truck/pickup?

Only cucks do that.
How much of a difference does an aftermarket induction kit make on a turbo car?
Does the fitment of an intercooler negate the need for a cold air intake?
yes
>>15010324
A pod filter is not a cold air intake. The intake 90% of cars have factory is a cold air intake. However, pod filters look awesome, sound awesome, and make maintenince easier cause you aren't stuck removing a whole airbox all the time.
As for your question, idk bro I do not have a turbo car.
>>15010324
Doesn't make a difference w/ an intercooler. The min temp of the air is the temp of the intercooler.
Do you use smelly trees in your car?

Damn right.
No, because I don't drive a shitbox. My car smells like sweet leather.

I'm finishing this project tonight, deadline for last minute uploads when this post is 2 hours old.

Oh sweet babby jesus there's more than one of us
So I want a Ram 2500 6.7 w/ manuel. Since it'll be a daily my primary concern is mileage. The problem is I would need it to make 19 mpg just to cost me the same as my current (gas) daily in $/mile. Most reviews I've read only see 12-15 mpg without towing anything. Companies that make delete (egr/dpf) kits claim I can get closer to 20 with their kits, and tuners claim 20-25.
Would those numbers be a realistic expectation for daily mixed city/highway driving? Is it feasible to do a delete, and get 2 reliable tunes (one performance, one mpg) + whatever additional parts for less than $1000, and hit at least 20mpg daily?
Also will aforementioned performance tune/mods make the truck blow smoke? I'm okay with a small puff on a downshift, but I don't want to roll coal everywhere.
>>15014141
Get a Hemi truck with cylinder deactivation. Unless you need the massive tow rating the diesel really isn't worth the extra initial purchase costs and extra maintenance costs.
>>15014141
>buying a newer vehicle to save money
shiggy diggy.
>>15014179
I would love to get a V8 truck and call it a day, but the only trucks made with a stick in the last decade are gas V6s (which I have), stripped down 4-cyls (which I don't want), and the 2500 Cummins.
Hi /o/, I need some help. I wanna start racing/rallying but I'm a poorfag yuro (which is why I'm probably gonna go more rally than race). Can you guys recommend me a decent starting car that's cheap and doesn't require many mods that would eat up my budget?
I just need a cheap beater that'll do for my purposes, hopefully having decent power while stock or with minor cheap mods. Something I won't feel bad about beating up and that I could repair cheaply.
I've been thinking about pic related but with a Punto engine swap and some better brakes, but I want to see some recommendations from you guys.
And I'd totally love some tips or guidance on how to get into racing/rallying.
Opel Astra GSI is the go to car for starting rallyists over here.
Btw I hope you plan on getting some money because you won't go far being a poorfag. Except if maybe you get some attention with good results.
Saxo VRS is also popular around some parts.
>>15011820
Well to be honest 2 liters makes this a little expensive for a starting car.
>>15011836
That looks much better. Is it raceable out of the box, or does it need any mods?
Of course getting rid of the weight would be the first thing I'd do.
>"cars are only a tool to get from A-B!!"

Why are people like this?
>>15009723
Some people are just unable to even predict what their car will do and on a basic level understand the basic physics of a car, which makes driving a confusing and annoying experience for them, so they can't possibly enjoy any of it. With driving enjoyment taken out of the picture they see no appeal in car culture whatsoever.
>>15009723
They can afford flashy appliances and furniture to show off to their friends
By they can't afford a flashy car to show off to strangers
>>15009723
Because some people have different priorities in life.
Believe it or not, there are some people in society that have no desire to piss away tens of thousands of dollars on a mode of transportation that will get them through 40 minutes of traffic everyday. A lot of people would rather spend their money on appliances that make their everyday life easier and less time consuming (the fridge), or something that maximises their enjoyment of a hobby.
In short, OP is butthurt.
Who do you think would have a bigger culture shock? An American and their daily dropped in Europe or the other way around?
Discuss.
The euro because they would figure out that Americans DONT just drive pickups and SUVs.
As an American I can safely say I have a much better understanding of EU car culture (or the lack thereof, I guess) than yurops do of ours.
As a Texan going to Florida, I was shocked at how rare a truck was.
