Br/o/s, what car should I buy in order to learn manual transmission but also has a little horsepower? A good starter for eventually graduating up to a serious performance car when I have old guy money someday.

Current daily driver is a 2013 Toyota Corolla. No horsepower and I feel like a faggot when driving it.

Civics are cheap, good gearbox for the price.
>>
C4 Corvette is a good choice.

I learned on my LS1 Firebird, had no issues and the engine/transmission is very reliable.

Say you fancy yourself a regular bogan and want an older Honda civic
But the local market is outrageous.
Is the fit a good undiscovered alternative tuner car? Is there any of the gumption of the older civics eh?

I'm about to go look at a 99 Subaru Outback ( pic not it ) and I was wondering what /o/ thinks I should look for. I know to check coolant for oil to see if it has a bad head gasket, but what else? If everything looks good I may be trading my Lexus SC400 for it + Cash.
17 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
That's not a good year to buy unless head gaskets were already done. Check the oil...does it look like a malt shake? Does it overheat?
>>
>>15056373
Check for rust. The frame rails and rear quarter panels are notorious for this.
>>
>>15056373
make sure to check the oil/coolant AFTER you go for a test drive, let the rpm go high (close to redline if you can)

owner could just change the fluids before selling to make it look like theres no head gasket leak. and check the frame rails for rust

also...is the sc400 really that bad on gas?

I'm looking to spend around £2000 - £3000 on a miata to use as my daily for around 2 years while I save for something nicer

(Not that I dislike miatas but 2 years from now I'd like to spend around 20k on something that's going to last me years and years and I'll fall in love with(

Just want your guys opinion on whether or not this looks like a half decent car for £2k?

I filtered for yellow because I've always wanted a yellow convertible.

Does anyone know of any good aftermarket headrests that can fit a Honda Civic 2012?

I just bought this car and it's a good drive, but the headrest gives me awful neck pain (pic related, it's the same model)

Just slouch more, you are driving a civic after all, nothing to be proud of.

Heat up the metal parts that stick into the back of the seat and bend them, or google 'aftermarket headrest 2012 civic'

How much stock do you put into IIHS crash test ratings when buying a car?

Is there a different safety rating system that is more accurate?

Old thread will start autosaging soon.
Old thread here - >>15003646

Shamefully copied from legendary VINbro's threads
>I am able to run US/Canadian VINs (anything with a fitting VIN; bikes, cars and so on) and US plates. For plates the same rules apply as VINs; 1981 or newer, US registered, and the plate and state are needed. Plates do work most of the time, but VINs are more reliable.
>Please remove hyphens (dashes) from VINs/plates - unless they happen to be part of a vanity plate. This makes copying and pasting easier.
>I can only run vehicles in/originally in the USA/Canada. If they've been exported from the USA/Canada, a report with their time here will be available. Not yet sure about imported cars.
>Vehicles need to be of the 1981 model year or newer. That's when standardized VINs began. Anything older simply cannot be run for a report.
>There are never I(i), O(o), nor Q(q) in VINs. This is to avoid confusion with 1 and 0. So if you are unsure, it is always 1 or 0 (not the case for classic cars, but they cannot be run anyway).
>VINs must be 17 characters exactly. No more, no less.
>If you want the PDF-file you can open the page source (F12) and search "amazonaws", copy the whole link and put it in your browser. This should allow you to download the PDF. If its not working send me an email at [email protected]. Please leave a reply if you do so
