Can a small hatchback ever be masculine, or will they always be the go-to choice for women, fags and nu-males?
>>15067498
No, not unless it's rally/race prepped.
>>15067498
if masculine = agressive, look at that

the guy that hits the rev limiter constantly without shifting?
hi /o/, i don't come on here besides lurking a few times so sorry for being new. anyways, i drive a 1999 Malibu and i'm sick of it, but i'm also a college student not trying to go into debt over some ugly 2015 sedan.
I listen to a lot of synthwave, post-punk, new wave, etc so i have a huge soft spot for cars with flip up headlights and hard, hatchback bodies.
favorite cars are the 1980's Supras, 1990's 240sx, and the Corolla AE86.
are any of these feasible for both a daily driver and a project car i can have fun with? I actually found an AE86 i'm in love with on my local craigslist (pic related), the seller says it's been a daily driver for years but it's got 180k miles on it.
so any info you guys could give me about getting into this hobby, and cars like these would be appreciated. also maybe other places to look besides craigslist? not a huge selection for those cars, i live in a small area of towns.
240SXs have been all but destroyed by the rise in popularity of drifting and stancefaggotry. Same for AE86s. I can't help you a ton on Supras but I think the sticky has a bit of info on them.
>daily driver and a project car
I'm gonna stop you right here. You pick one, not both. Unless you plan on keeping the Malibu and driving the other car whenever this new one is together.
>AE DRIFT license plate, parked in front of a blue subie with a window license plate
It looks clean but it's been abused. Stay away.
>>15067265
ok, maybe not "project" car per-say, but i can't keep both. not enough room or money. i guess i meant to say is it possible to have a daily driver that's not hideous and boring, but also not insanely expensive?
i know you can't get everything you want in one car but i'd at least like to try and get close.

Lets talk tires /o/
Does anyone have any experience with Pilot Sports A/S 3? I was thinking about getting them for my daily, but wanted to know how long should I expect them to last.
It doesn't snow in my area, but you can still be ticketed if you don't have snow tires/all seasons during the winter time.
whatever mitchelin claims it would last, divide that in half. that's my personal experience on various cars with different driving styles.
>>15066520
Not true for every tire, but i think the general consensus is that "sport tires" don't last nearly as long as other tires but that's to be expected especially if you DD a sports car.
I however have gotten 98,000 miles on Michelin defenders on my 01 malibu, and i only rotated them once every 8k miles or once an oil change.
>>15066217
why would you need winter or all-season tires if it doesn't snow?
and how would they know to ticket you
No miata thread? I could use some help /o/ I put some pioneer 6" speakers in my door and now my left panel rattles, any ideas? Also has anyone been able to fit 10cm speakers in their NA headrests?
>>15066160
Weather stripping around the bracket of the speaker should remedy that, or go full retard and get dynamat

Some faggot kid is drifting in my neighborhood, I've even seen him do it in front of a school in session.
This needs to stop before he ends up mowing somebody down or ending up in somebodies house, what are my options?
I'm guessing the cops need to see him do it.
you're gay
>>15066116
If he's doing it on roads with a lot of traffic or houses nearby by all means stop him, he is a faggot. If he's doing it in empty parking lots go fuck yourself.
film him once and hand it to the cops. >>15066132
agreed. some kid fishtailing around in a empty lot isn't hurting anyone except that kids car
What do you nerds know about this thing?
My mom upgraded to a BMW X5, so she decided to give me her 2014 Flex Limited. I don't know jack shit about it other than it looks funky.
it's a long scion xb
Ecoboost are fun, n/a are not. It's just a different looking Explorer. Reliable though.

Enjoy your glorified hearse. Literally one of the worst cars ford made next to that freestyle in the early 2000's and they got their shit slightly together. Its like a estate mixed with a mini van. i.e. the freestar replacement
Is Seafoam just a meme?
>>15066076
No. its been proven to work.
Actually removes carbon deposits from valves, and cylinders.
Works as a good fuel injector cleaner
Good cleaning properties when added to engine oil prior to change

This. I felt bad for my neighbors first time I did an intake cleaning with it. Thick white smoke for days.

They're small, which is good for a RB25 engine swap, but bad if you're a fatass.
They handle well for what they are and have the usual Nissan parts interchangeability and aftermarket support.
Bad thing is the first ones are now over 25 years old and new parts are getting hard to come by. There were a zillion of them made though so used parts are plentiful still.
If it's your first car then sure get one. I liked mine while I had it in the 00's.
Why do people aspire to own fast cars? Just buy a motorcycle. They outperform most super cars and cost 1/10th or less the price.
Then you can have a reliable daily driver as a car.
Millennials need to get into motorcycles because they don't know what they're missing. Quit looking to buy expensive cars - they're stupid and depreciate so quickly! Bikes are way better.
Why buy a motorcycle when you can buy an estes model rocket? $20, goes 450mph, btfos any motorcycle easily
>>15065826
Motorcycles are death machines. I might trust riders to be safe and vigilant, but I don't trust pablo not to down some keystone light and ram his 90s civic into the side of one while running a red light.
Is this post real???
People buy what they want. Practicality goes out the window man.
