took my car for servicing, guy said there was a nail in front passenger side of tire.
You are looking at the inner sidewall, looking front of my car. You think i can get this plugged or is it too close to sidewall?
>>15093060
Depends on the inner construction, but I'd go with yes. It's not a big nail either
plug will be fine.
if they won't do it, a used tire shop will for cheap.
yeah, that's fine anon.
Yo guys, recently picked this puppy up for 18k
What should I do to it?
Its all stock, got GMs 2.0t, open diff unfortunately :(
Trade it for something less shitty
Maintain it.
>>15092857
:'(
I like it...
why did they even think this was a good idea
>>15092788
Nice Kia.
>>15092785
then they would have looked fairly close to what the previous gen C-Class looks like with block headlights.
Granted, I like the bugeye headlights so they never bothered me
>>15092795
You do know Kia/Hyundai copied the bugeye headlight design off Mercedes and Jag right?
Why do you hate cars then?
>>15092692
Tell me why I don't like cars, because I thought I did
>>15092692
The miata is pushed too much here, and by extension RWD. Nobody here knows anything and just spew the same opinions as Jalopnik while pretending its fact.
It gets obnoxious to the point where I can empathize with the fwd fastestlaps posters
>>15092692
There seems to be two types of car guys
The first type is interested in mechanics and automotive engineering, probably has experience with both, and can acknowledge the existence of automobiles ranging from the Hyundai Accent to the McClaren P1, etc.
The other types are "car guys" who actually only care about racing cars. They may or may not have actual mechanical knowledge or experience past memorizing the 0-60 times of the fastest production cars. They talk about "real cars" and insist that only cars built for motorsport are "real cars". They're the equivalent of sports "fans" who only like football and basketball and think every other sport is gay or boring.
I have a dilemma /o/. I'm looking to buy a small SUV such as a Pathfinder or Xterra, and I'm trying to decide between a manual or automatic. It will be my dd and used for camping and light off road.
I currently dd a 5 speed shitbox. If I was getting a small truck, I'd for sure get a manual, but I can't decide with a small SUV.
What do you guys think?
>>15092641
How far is your commute? City or highway?
>>15092673
around 15 miles highway, stop and go most of the time
>>15092684
Manual would be fine with a torquey engine. Just almost idle along in first or 2nd gear.
Would it be possible to create an engine with no rubber parts? (seals, gaskets, belts etc)
also general stupid questions thread
>>15092636
metal gaskets, chains and seals.
You'll have to use varying metals and it will raise cost and weight and it will shake itself to pieces faster so there you go
I just got my first manual car and my friend showed me how to drive a little bit.
I noticed my car has a very small first gear and I get high revs quickly and without going too fast. Am I able to just start it off in second gear, when I'm at a stoplight/stopsign? I hate having to go into first then immediately into second while turning.
>>15092686
That's just how first gear is with high gearing. You should be shifting into 2nd at about 5mph. If you're moving at all already, like almost stopped but a light turns green, just drop it into 2nd.
Gf wants drives by a dealer and spots a 2014 Camaro 33,000 miles stick shift $19,000. She wants to buy it.
I have a buddy who is a dealer back home and he says Camaros are shitty cars.
What's your /o/pinion?
>>15092546
don;t unless v8
just dont.
>>15092566
It's v6. But why only v8 is good?
>>15092546
>no windows
Have any of you ever successfully dagumi'd?
These threads can't always be about crashing, what amazing feats have you pulled off in your car?
I'll start
>camping with some friends
>taking dirt road in a fwd shitbox
>starting to get the hang of corners
>perfect corner coming up
>pick up some speed
>rip the handbrake commence hektik skid
>make it around the corner and regain traction on concrete bridge
Felt so fucking good
>>15092236
I can heel toe downshift I guess, I'm too protective of my shitbox to try anything truly hektik
>>15092236
>heavy snow, roads not plowed yet
>fwd shitbox with shitty all seasons
>left turn on highway exit, going 40-45mph, concrete on both sides
>rear end slides out
>ohshit.mp4
>turn wheel to the right and give some gas
>durifto the whole turn, maybe 250 feet
>end up perfectly staight on the corner exit
Was pleasantly suprised i didnt just smash the wall.
>>15092671
This.
Hopefully when im in the position where im able to hoon carelessly being financially sound, ill try and rip some hektik skids and not die in the process.
Would you ever buy a car with a flood/salvage title?
so you like mold?
>>15092152
No, not really. But I'd buy one damaged before I'd buy one that was already "fixed"
Only if I was going to strip out the whole interior anyway and even then I'd really rather not. Rust is fucking sneaky.
Alright lads I need some help, my car recently has taken longer to start up it used to go >yank yank on
Now it takes longer to start up, one or two yanks more
Advice?
>pic unrelated
>>15092140
Possibly battery or alternator. Have you checked them?
>>15092219
New battery in January
>>15092140
Well, since your car still starts easily, it isn't fouled spark plugs. I have no other idea.
Is the CR-V a woman's car? I'm thinking of buying a newer one as my DD.
>>15091985
Get a manual fwd HRV instead. The new CRV's are too big. The HRV is what the 3rd gen is supposed to be like.
>>15091985
Do you really need an Es u vee OP?
Think long and hard asshole
No such thing as a men's or women's car unless we're talking le angry Ute or a miata with eyelashes. Get the cleanest older one (I think like 200-2004?) you can instead, they have tons of hidden compartments, the front seats fold back into sleeping cots, and there's a folding table hidden in the trunk.
overpriced? the dude is firm, but i thought that's a bit steep to ask, even with the things he's throwing in
but i am probably dumb

>>15091805
That car would go for ~7k here
BUY
IT
FUCKING
NOW
YOU
IDIOT
I wish I could get deals like that here fuck my life
>>15091805
>1996
>138000mi

He did do a lot of aftermarket stuff, but that's still way too high.
Ask him for a test drive, bring up any small thing that you know is wrong, and try to knock that down to at least 2.5k via bargaining. I hope you know how to bargain.
always wondered:
how would a wheel turn if there's no room because of fender?
>/o/ doesn't know
:3
awwww come oooon
No inner fender.
it's the first time I come on this board, I'm from /tv/, I NEED YOUR HELP
I managed to come back home from the gas station only now, and thank God it's very close!!
my father lent me his new Audi A8 in these days because he's abroad, and it was running out of fuel so I went to the gas station
but I got confused because his previous car was a diesel !!
the car now it's like if it has no power, the smoke stinks like fu**ing anal shit and it's a miracle if I arrived home because it felt like if the car was about to die
my father returns from a trip on Saturday
how can I fix this shit without him knowing
I'm not a mechanic but we have some tools in the garage (screwdrivers, hammers, a funnel)
>>15091590
>this thread again
The fucking diesel nozzle is too big to fit in a gas fill
Get a hose and use your sucking strength that you practiced on so many dicks.
>>15091600
where the fuck you live? autismville?
Which one would you pick?
Take a sedan over a wannabe muscle car any day
>>15091579
I'd take a corolla of a shitbox Ford.
Corolla, less embarrasing to be seen in, looks better, 4 doors.
