Post the best tuning fails/memes you have:D
biggest fail swap ever

its a meme swap thats worse than the original engine for the price paid 9/10 times
not to mention it sounds awful
I don't know what the fuck happened but I need help, this shit is above my mechanical and nil electrical knowledge
Okay, so I was swapping out my alternator in my car. When I took off the battery, the terminals accidentally hit the wires and my alternator sparked three times. Once on my ratchet and twice on the engine block itself. I didn't think nothing bad happened so when I was done with everything and hooked up my battery again, a massive spark came out from the positive terminal and melted a fuse link wire in the alternator harness ( cable that goes from positive terminal to alternator ground ).
Anyways, I bought that same new cable from a junk yard. I tested the battery and it was fine and charged, I tested the alternator and it was fine ( both according to advance auto parts and their machine ). When I re-hooked everything up, the electrics in the car worked but the car won't start. The first key turn made a click louder than the following clicks. Every time I turn the key, it just makes one click that's it.
What is wrong with my car? How can I diagnose this?
If you were dumb enough to try and swap your alternator with the battery hooked up, you are too dumb to understand any advice I could give you.
>>15132537
No, I disconnected the battery but I didn't push them back far enough and I didn't notice them coming back into place when I moved the alternator out and that caused the spark.
What happened man? What are some of the culprits and things to try to diagnose this?

>The first key turn made a click louder than the following clicks. Every time I turn the key, it just makes one click that's it.
So when you turn the key it makes a succession of clicks?
Do you have a girlfriend/wife that is into cars? How did you meet her?
*crickets*
I'm gay so pre much all of my partners have liked cars

My wife rides dirtbikes sometimes.
I have to slow down a lot more though. She's not into working on cars, which is fine by me.
Liking different things is ok
>I will never support Chevrolet (and GM by proxy) in any way shape or form for as long as I live until they stop killing off good badges just to protect their middling-tier shitboxes
Yes, I am (and forever will be) salty about Pontiac and Holden.

If you don't like the other person's taste in music, just tell them it's driver's choice. Better yet, just have your music playing when they get in.
>automatics are not always shit
>ditto for FWD
Sure, it won't be a GODMACHINE, but automatics and FWDs ARE capable of going fast. Most of the time you won't be fighting for hot lap times in traffic, anyway.
>doesn't mean RWDs and manuals aren't god-tier
>People who stance and donk their cars sacrifice functionality to make their car look gaudy and horrific, purely as an attention grabbing method. They see any attention as good attention, and should be thusly treated like any other person that's damaged goods, and ignored.

>>15129864
There is absolutely nothing wrong with fwd automatic. The amount of people here who act like a car that isn't a dedicated race car is worthless is ridiculous, especially when so few actually own cars and even fewer actually race.
Is this a good deal, /o?
buy a civic
>>15142940
No. It's a shitty angry modern car. Nothing after 2013 (under 50k) is worth buying.
>>15142940
what would the lease be?
Daily reminder that if your car is not up to drug dealer specification you are doing it wrong

How about do something that makes you happy
Thats why you should buy a cheaper, more fun car than a lexus.
A used e92 m3 or e46 m3 would be more appropriate if you make 40k
>Dirt cheap, $500-600 for a complete engine

>you can carburate if you're a faggot too
>>15140734
1: You've confused the LS engines with the new LT engines.
2: the new LT engines can't be carburated. Why? Because direct fuel injection. Changing to carburation involves new pistons, heads, intake manifold and computers.

Why doesn't this follow the same trends of JD power and associates?
>>15138675
Because it's consumer reports and not JD power and associate shills
When will Ford come to their senses and put the 5.2L flatplane V8 voodoo in the GT?
FORD DOESN'T MAKE MISTAKES
ECOBOOSTâ„¢ IS THE FUTURE
when will you stop coming up with these stupids comments if you will never be able afford one to begin with fucking bus rider
>>15138350
ok.
What Ferd really needs to do is make a mid-level sports car costing around 30k which has a less powerful V8 than the Mustang but is lighter, more agile and only has two seats, bonus points for for 05/06 GT styling.
Alternatively this concept could have been a WAY better use of the ecoboost given its existence in the Mustang is a glorified tech demo rather than a car that could really benefit from it.
If I gave you $100,000 to modify an s2000 for straight up quarter-mile time what would you do to it?
>>15137615
Sell it and buy a real performance platform
>>15137615
LS swap it and then supercharge it.
>>15137615
Swap it for the EcoBoost engine in the Ford GT, upgrade tranny and add better tires.
BAM!
