Sup /o/ I'm a 19 year old going to trade school and Ali's have a part time 30 hr a week job. I had a Integra 98' but I crashed it since I was speeding like a noob damn well knowing my CV boot was ripped on both front ends. Anyways I'm on the hunt for a reliable GOOD car. I wanna upgrade from going to shitty FWD cars to the raw awesome of RWD. My question is, is a Lexus LS400 or GS300/400 good cars for what I'm looking for? I want something that's reliable, RWD, yet still looks like a badass car for my age. I stay in S/o/Cal and have a minimum wage job. Pls I need help/advice for my next serious whip!
Also*
Definitely LS

The 1UZ doesn't get good gas mileage. Especially the pre-VVT models. Just something to consider since you're still in school.

What does /o/ think of the rav4?
It's shit
>>15172873
Millenials want safe, reliable, Eco friendly SUVs, and the RAV4 is that. /o/ wants rear wheel drive, supercharged v12s on a 2000 pound car with a manual transmission. So what does /o/ think about the new RAV4?
It's shit

The Evo?
Came across a guy who had like 10 plus years in a small notebook of every oil change/ rotation...etc that has been replaced on his car...IS this normal?
>>15172466
10+ years isn't really, but some service history is always nice.
I do it
I even save the receipts from the gas stations.
Let's play a game /o/
If this was the year you where born and you had to have the car you are currently driving, would you be happy with the result?
I'll start:

It's expensive as shit to import those though. I want to go to a dealership and get a big ass van that I can bang gears in and have a party room in the back.
I'm having car problems and wondering what's the solution. Perhaps you can help me.
I drive a 99 Honda Accord 205,000 miles on it. During the summer months I have trouble starting it up. It'll turn on for not even a second and shut off right away. I'll attempt to turn it on again and it'll start up and then shut off in a split second. I usually wait about 30 seconds or a minute and try again. It takes me about 3-6 tries before it'll start up and stay running. But the problem doesn't end there.
For the first 5 minutes or so of driving, at any point, my car can shut off. I can pull out of the parking lot no problem but as soon as I slow down to come to a stop sign my car shuts off immediately. And then I have to try to start it up again a couple of times. Then there's a 50/50 chance it shuts off again at the next stop sign. Also sometimes while I'm slowing down, I'll flick my turn signal it'll shut off immediately. Once I'm on driving on a long back road or on the highway I'm okay (although it has shut off randomly while in the middle of driving but it's rare) Usually after 10 minutes of driving it won't shut off at all, stop signs and all.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?
check ur light ground, should be in the trunk somewhere
made my civic die when i applied brake lights turn signals etc
>>15171762
But it's only during the first few minutes of driving. Doesn't happen at all after its warmed up. Still an issue? But thanks I'll try to check that out
Your sparkplugs could be worn and having trouble keeping up with sparking the fuel which could be causing all the issues. Luckily for you sparkplugs are cheap as shit and would be easy to install on your Honda, I just did sparkplugs on my Subaru the other week and that is a bit more involved so I believe you've got it in ya
Well? Omit shitty car reviewers, please.
Just finished watching a lot of Haggard Garage videos. It's entertaining for what it is but I would never let one of those kids touch one of my vehicles.
>>15171572
Lowcals is kinda cool, haggard garage is fun to watch because of all of the sketchy shit they do. ChrisFix is the best repair related channel on YouTube hands down. Poor man mods is good too.

Why are there so little cars made from Aluminum?
There are a few that use all aluminum body panels, and Audi made a few all aluminum monocome frames, but why is this still not a metal that all cars are made from?
I understand that its harder to work on, weld, repair.
How is carbon surpassing it? Its just as hard to repair, and probably as expensive.
Why dont we have lightweight aluminum frame 2 seaters?
Or super light fuel efficient city cars made form the stuff?
probably safety, it crumples differently
>>15171419
Why would you want a 2 seater when you can have a van?
You'd also think they would use it more since it doesn't oxidize as badly.
But if bicycles have told me anything, it's that aluminum is *not* preferable for high load joints, which are much, much more prone to cracks than steel.
That's probably the main reason.
Hey /o/, looking at making my first purchase. I'm looking at the new Subaru Impreza as a nice start car. Can people give me some pros and cons of the brand in general? They have a 4cyl boxer engine that seems pretty legit. I heard bad shit about the CVT transmission, but I drive stick, would a CVT be in a standard car?
>>15171390
That image is the concept car. The release model looks nothing like that fyi.
>>15171390

>>15171278
Not as good as a Bedford Rascal.
>>15171278
Yes it's you're just using it as a commuter. No if you want any performance out of it aside from being able to pass someone on the highway with relative ease
>>15171289
All I want is a daily driver with around 200 hp that doesn't look like complete shit and won't rape me with constant expensive repairs. Also decent mpg
