/o/, I just got a loan for a Honda cb300f. I have never driven a motorcycle before however, and was wondering if you guys had any tips for a first timer? I'm looking for a good helmet and leather jacket for protection, is there anything else I need to look for?

my sister was in an accident similar to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukA57DwcOJw

she was at an intersection.
turned left and saw the motorcyclist.
stopped.
motorcyclist was in the middle of the road (out in the countryside)
the motorcyclist slammed his breaks and turned left (into my sisters car) and clipped her right front bumper.
speed limit down that road was 35. he was going so fast that a witness noticed.

my sister has to be at fault but by how much?

I don't get this. Do Americans count fault in percentages or something. It's just either at fault or not where I live.

Is the grand tour going to be all about 500 thousand dollar super cars or is it going to be about good friends enjoying affordable cars on road trips and having fun and drifting and being car guys. Or is it going to be about cars for rich people.

I hope it's the latter that shows how much fun you can have in cars that aren't 500 thousand and you need to be the ceo of a company that makes a billion dollars a year. Cuz I am not a ceo of a company that makes billions and I do no plan on buying a billion dollar CEO car.

Someone please tweet this to the grand tour boys. I don't have Twitter.

But isn't yours measured in liters as opposed to gallons?

So I purchased a 2001 Chrysler 300M from a sketchy mechanic, and it made it about a mile before a hose came undone, the car refused to go over 30MPH, and it started smoking so I pulled it over to the shoulder of the highway. The guy said the motor was shot and the car was essentially totaled.

However, the title is signed over to me, so I'm pretty sure I still technically own the vehicle. I know replacing an entire engine is pretty costly and not worth it, but is it worth my time to tow the car to somewhere I might be able to work on it if the engine isn't completely shot, or at the very least is it worth the hassle to try to part it out myself. I believe the car already had about 130K miles on it.

How much did you pay for the car?
>>
>>15200993
$1100. Apparently the guy put in a new battery, and then a hose wasn't connect all the way and came undone, so some liquid flushed out of it. I'm not sure the extent of the damages myself.

Why the hell would you do this? Even if everything seemed to be working fine, it's still a chyrsler product from a terrible era and the transmission will grenade sooner rather than later.

Should've shut up and bought a civic.

Why are American cars so popular with the Mafia /o/?

It's an Italian-American thing. I can tell you from experience that if you grow up in an Italian-American family, you're raised to worship Cadillac and Lincoln. It's ingrained in Italian-American culture. Owning a Cadillac or a Lincoln means you've made it and you're successful. You have to remember this was ingrained in the culture back when Cadillacs were so expensive that the only time most people even rode in one was in the back of a Cadillac hearse.
Even through the 1980's, there were Cadillacs more expensive than Rolls Royces and Bentleys. Actually, I believe that was true through the 1990's as well.

Besides. Don't you wanna be a superior lifeform?
>>
>>15200598
Holy shit an actual reason that makes sense.

Expected thread to 404 with no answer or fill up with memes, thanks.

What are these Cadillacs that are more expensive than literal hand-made British cars? I'm not being a dick, I'm actually curious.

I'd call it shit suspension design, and excess tire wear from your shitty driving.

What mileage? I'm guessing it's due for a suspension rebuild. Use OEM parts if you ever want it to ride like new.

I've given up on a few jobs now because I didn't have the tools to do it properly but the longer I work on my cars the more i realize that buying your own tools will have greater benefits in the long term if you plan to continue to work on cars.

How do you accumulate your tools? Do you buy them from a store or second hand? any recommendations for the best brand tools for working on vehicles or the essential tools to purchase? Anyone got a good recommendation on a electric impact wrench?

Milwaukee makes one that's nearly fucking indestructible, just don't throw it around like a cheap harbor freight impact.

Get yourself a torque wrench, socket set, impact, electric ratchet, some drain pans, a lift and you're almost in business.

Okay now move forwards on the schedule and see if you can swing the labor prices.

Failure to maintain your vehicle will drastically drop its value if it still even functions. Gotta treat it like chess against the wear parts.
