>driving with almost no rear differential fluid because of leak
>hear grinding noises from both front wheels
>find out rear diffs share fluid with wheel bearings

What kind of damage am I looking at? What would be the best method to fix all of this?

Just finance something outside of your means then, I hear poor people do that

Anyone hear any rumors about what we'll learn on June 21st? Really surprised that nothing has leaked yet.

I recently saw someone post that we might see a full MSRP buyback less some sort of mileage deduction. Cash compensation in the area of $7-10K on top of that; along with an incentive to stay with the brand for a new purchase. Seems very wishful in my opinion.

The gag order is pretty tight. I really like my 2012 Jetta but depending on the offer it might be a no-brainer to do the buyback.
>>
>>15203145
There shouldn't be a buyback program. They're all decent cars (minus the bad hpfp's) that get good mpg. They'll never be unable to be registered so who cares?

Hey /o/.

I bought a old Chevette for really, really cheap. Just for fun. I want to make a really(REALLY) cheap drift car.

How fucked i am if a install a Scania turbine into it's engine. It's a 4cyl 1.8L Ethanol. I already did some modifications on the engine head. (More air intake to be precise). But pistons, camshaft, crank and everything is stock.

Thanks.

because it's not as simple as automatic or manual anymore. a dct isn't exactly an automatic, but that doesn't mean they are good. they are trash unless the car costs over 40k and even some of those are shit.

Mostly no one outside of the UK owns them because across Europe they were only sold in the UK with right hand drive.

Hello /o/, I've got no credit history, and I paid cash in hand for my current shitbox. I'm thinking of buying a better vehicle of some sort, and to do that, I've been considering a loan.

I've heard of those places that give you loans regardless of your credit. But they typically have very high interest rates. So buying a car from that may be more expensive than it needs to be.

I've been told by people on /o/ to just get a credit card and build credit by paying my bills and paying the balance for a year or so. That would be a good idea.

I would also consider trying to get a loan from a bank or other financial institution, especially if I settle on a newer car. But I also wish to purchase some older vehicles.

Saving up would definitely mean waiting for a long time for the car that I want. Especially if I want to get an example of a classic that's currently able to drive.

I do want to build credit, so I can eventually own a country home. So getting a car on a loan may be a step to that goal. But buying a car with cash in hand has the advantage of requiring no further payments from me. No debts, no stress.
What do you think, /o/?
Pic is a dream classic of mine. Good luck finding one up in Canada.

Talk to your local credit union. You won't get a good interest rate but, they may put you somewhere down the middle. A lot of credit unions have a first time auto loan programs so take advantage of that. And buy a sensible car that you can afford. some institution is giving you an apr of something absurd like 20.9. Do not sign any paperwork.

Have at least 20 percent of the value of the car to put down payment is a good rule of thumb.
>>
>>15202754
So if a car is costing me thirty grand, knocking six grand off the starting price would definitely help. I haven't considered credit unions because I don't know about their auto loan programs. I'll look into that.
Right now, I have the shitbox. But I got a newer, better paying job. So I want to get a car that's a little less sensible than the one I have now. I'm definitely not moving into anything I won't be able to afford, however.

My 4th gear is fucked up

1st to 2nd = shifts fine
2nd to 3rd = shifts fine
3rd to 4th = this is where problems begin

You cant simply press clutch in and move shift lever from 3rd down to 4th in one motion.
You have to press clutch, move from 3rd to neutral, leave it in neutral position for just a moment and then slowly gently ease it down to 4th and let the clutch off. If you try to do it in one single motion it wont go in and grinds like holy hell.

4th to 5th = shifts fine

Now when you try to downshift from 5th to 4th its impossible, It wont go in the 4th gear gate and grinds horribly. So i downshift to 3rd and then go up to 4th. Literally the only way to get in 4th is to upshift from 3rd in the manner I previously described.

Does this mean my 4th gear synchronizer is shitted up?
Ive been thinking about switching to redline MT90 and see if it helps.

Car is a '96 240sx btw got it a few months ago, and it was a one owner old chinese man who owned it not some drifter punk

2015 Ford Fiesta or 2014 Chevy Spark?

My wife is getting a new car(that must be a hatchback, don't ask why). She's leaning very heavily towards the Spark, while I'm leaning towards the Fiesta. We have an 8 year old who will be over 6 feet by the time he hits early teens and I'd prefer something larger. Haven't heard much about the Spark at all, I know some people who have Fiestas and they like them.

Thoughts?

I would choose Ford just because I have more faith in them. Chevy seems to cheap out a lot. And my Fiesta has been great. surprisingly spacious, I'm 6'4, and almost 35mpg mixed, and that's with the 5 speed not the 6 speed. It's a nice cheap daily driver, I have no regrets.
>>
>>15202259
Neither. They're both shitboxes.

should I buy this cobra mustang for 2,200
its a 2003, and there are a couple problems with it. every time you turn it off you have to lift the hood and remove something that coonects with the battery or else its going to drain it . regardless if the battery is new or not.
it wont pass a smog check becuase the engine has been modified . wont go past 65 on the freeway , and the muffler is really low on the ground .

but other than that the car works perfect,

thoughts on the pro's or the cons ?
if I should buy it

Yes. The morons that commented don't know what the fuck they're talking about. Roller coupes w/o engines are 8k+ and the heads alone on a 4v are 2k. Get it and fix it.
