Advance Auto Parts switched from usa suppliers to chinese suppliers for so many of their parts that UCI was forced to file for bankruptcy after AAP switched from UCI to China.
AutoZone master race checking in
I only go to advance auto because the nearest NAPA is 20 minutes away.
So there I am driving down Interstate 95 in Maine this afternoon. I pull into the rest stop, and notice an awesome little hot hatch. Definitely not anything I've ever seen before. Some googling later tells me it was a Vauxhall Astra VXR. Left hand drive, even...
Doubly odd, it had a euro-sized Maine plate on it. Maine numbers, Maine stickers, the works. Kinda looked home made, for sure. Of course, I didn't have my phone with me. The one time I leave it home, I see something cool.
My question is, how do you think the car got here? And how long till this joker and his fake plate get caught?
They were sold as Saturns.
>>15253739
it could of been a rebadged saturn astra with a body kit
>>15253756
This.
>Buy Saturn Astra
>import Vauxhall VXR parts

All it needs now is an LNF swap from the Cobalt SS Turbo sister car.
Recommend me a Japanese sporty car under 10k. Needs to be decent stock and easy/cheap to maintain.
Looking for something to get me into cars and later on, into tuning.

Just got a Dodge Dynasty and am preparing it by basically removing all of the fluids and replacing them so it can basically be new again for travel
Only thing I want to ask /o/ since you've all been great for help. What's the process in replacing a transmission for a 1992 Dodge Dynasty? I'm still learning how this car is set up under the hood so anything helps
Thanks
Bump, ty /o/

the process of replacing the tranny is removing all plugs attached to it. you might have to remove it from the engine too so you might have to pull the engine. unmount all the mounts. and unbolt it from the engine. i dont know how these cars are i only own japanese cars
Thinking about picking up a e36 326is and making an UTE, anyone else done this? i know two guys that have outside of Dallas, and another in OKC. Any alternatives?

Has anyone here paid a shop to do an engine swap with an existing kit before?
I'm interested in buying a e36 m3 shell and swapping a lightly worked over 302 into it using the e36v8 kit found here: http://e36v8.com/
Seems like I could buy a decent chassis with no engine for around $2k, and a worked over 302 + t5 transmission for another $3-4k.
So the parts themselves seem pretty cheap, but what about the cost of labor to install? How much do you guys think it'll cost?

Almost no shop would touch the job to begin with. Of those that will, most are probably not that good and haven't done it that many times, or else they would have learned their lesson already. The only reasonable way is to find a shop (or guy) that only does one kind of swap into one kind of car, so he knows it inside and out and doesn't have to spend 75% of the time (with you paying the shop rate) figuring out how to make it work then troubleshooting it later. These shops do exist, but they are very rare, and very expensive.
Best van ever made and for some reason /o/ doesn't like it
Why?

Am i the only one that loves seeing a good set of BFG's on vintage muscle cars? I own a 78 Firebird that i am considering throwing some bfgs on but indecisive on the size. Do you have an image of your car on these sweet pristine tires? please let me see!
Anyway pic related, but not my camaro.
>ITT: Muscle cars sitting on BFG Tires
>That feel when BFG is working to retire OWL to "antique" status
>Prices for white lettered Radial T/A's is about to skyrocket
I thought you boomers liked polyglas tires
Every time I see Radial T/As it saddens me that the only tire they make in good muscle car sizes (aside from Avon CR6ZZs which are over $400 each) is a 30 year old design 600 treadwear pile of garbage. The Mickey Thompson Sportsman SRs may be a bit better than the BFGs but still aren't great, there needs to be a 200 treadwear stiff sidewall tire in sizes like 245/60R15
How fast do you do the turn /o/? In what gear?
>>15252422
in second at 25mph
>tfw never EVER encountered a turn like that
The south is boring.
Show as shit, ever since I encountered one that had a smaller radius then my car's turning circle.
How do I reduce the outside noise like the road and from the engine?
the cabin is extremely noisy in my car
Turn the radio up louder
Wear ear plugs
Ride a motorcycle down the freeway for 10 years.
>>15252166
Get a car with a smaller engine.
Can't hear anything in my buddies Camry.
So I purchased a brand new car and after 4 days the low tire pressure light comes on. I check the tires there is no visible damage. I check the tire pressure and they are all around 40 PSI. They should be 32 PSI....ok. I get back in the car and re-calabrate the stupid TPMS and it resets. One day later the fucking light comes back on. I check the tires again and nothing has changed.
Wtf is wrong with this retarded warning light. Is it coming on because the tires are over inflated? It specially says Low tire pressure on the touch screen. Anyone have similar issues with brand new cars/tires?
it's a brand new car, drive it back to the dealer.
>>15251989
yes it will trip the sensor if its overinflated you stupid fuck put the tires the the RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE SET BY THE FACTORY LIKE YOU ALREADY HAVE SEEN THEN RESET IT it will stay off.
