>Some shit
Neighbor hit my car 8 times over about 2 months. Last time she hit me I said I was taking it to the insurance company since she clearly refused to stop hitting my car.
Insurance company said to pay for it and then I'll be reimbursed for the damages, and THEY will fight for the money that is owed so I am compensated regardless.
Pay for the repairs. Insurance won't reimburse me. Big argument ensues. Start claim against neighbor.
Provide evidence:
>I saw them hit my car
>Measurements of their door and my damage, exact match
>Witness statement saying someone saw them hit my car
>Dent patterns show that it was from said door
>Paint matches
I don't know what evidence they submitted, but I got a letter today saying they are not responsible for the damage.
I'm at a loss and can't understand what it takes to prove they did it when I provided so much evidence, including third party witness statements.
Anyone have some advice on this? What I can do to prove it? I already tried recording them on a hidden camera, which they admitted to damaging and "fuck (me) for making an insurance claim," but the insurance company refused to accept it as evidence because they didn't state their name and acknowledgement for being on camera.
They owe me a pretty good chunk of money for the repairs. What do I have to do to prove they hit me?
If it's so consistent why haven't you installed a camera?
>>15284205
Why don't you just hit her car and say you are not responsible for the damage
>>15284205
Also where do you live and where do you park that she regularly hits your car?

First for franks Dr a shit
Anyone been motorcycle camping? The idea appeals to me, because I can have lazy motor transportation to places cars can't go. Like car-camping but in a remote spot.
I never bring much shit camping anyways I'm sure I can pack everything 3rd-world style on my motorcycle, only concern is transporting quantities of alcohol to the campsite, because I love getting drunk alone out in the woods.

Hey /o/, someone tell me about Saturn Ion Redlines. I know they cheap tacky cars, etc. Now that that's out of the way what's anon's opinion of these things?
I was looking at 1999-ish Mustangs and Firebirds to replace my rusty Miata, but I found a guy in town selling a black 2007 Ion Redline supercharged for about $4500. 75K miles, bone stock, proper maintenance, etc.
Everything I've read online makes them sound like stupid retarded fun with an awful interior.
Bump. I'm looking at it on Sunday.
>>15284015
get the RedLine, its going to be a fun DD. I got an 07 mustang GT for 6500 as a DD and kind of regret it. The RedLine is better than a neonSRT4 or colboltSS
>>15284015
They're great cars. The only real downside is they will rattle and groan.
The dent-resistant plastic body panels are glorious and the rear suicide doors are amazingly practical. It's still a coupe, but it has 4 doors.
The supercharged 2.0L Ecotec engine has great aftermarket support. Check out ZZPerformance.
The 5 speed manual transmission was pretty bulletproof. The only problem was an issue with the shifter coming undone. An aftermarket permanent fix for that exists here.

1950s cars thread.
Post affordable or attainable cars from the 1950s.
No cars worth like 100k.
Not in this nice of shape, but they can be had for $5000 or less.
Most 50s cars aren't worth 100k even in the most desirable body types. The only things worth 100k+ are rare cars like an F-Code 57' Ford Skyliner
Brand new outgoing Jeep Patriots are going for under $11,000 near me. Other than it being the base model of a shitty Chrysler, what could go wrong?
>>15283920
Buy one and find out.
>>15283923
Good idea. Can't knock it until you try it...or something like that.
>>15283946
Well, 11k for a brand new vehicle is pretty good. Even if it's a base model, drive it until the warranty runs out and sell it. Since it's so much under MSRP, you won't really get hit with that much depreciation. A decent vehicle for 3 or so years for a couple grand in taxes and depreciation seems like a pretty good deal.
Has Korea ever made a fast car? Like even one?

I know some crazy Koreans have made some stupid fast Tiburons.
What`s max HP for a daily this is my SRT4 pushing about 300whp. 1025cc injectors and a 50 trim turbo are on the way. Looking to stay around 400whp. On 93. Any other SRT`s?
honest question, why didn't you buy a miata?
also, 300hp is considered to be around the limit for a fwd on street tires, but if you wanna put semislicks and front aero on it i guess that could work

On a scale of Fiat to Toyota, how reliable is a 1st gen mazda3? I know that they're good cars, but being that they're basically Ford, I'm not sure about reliability. My friend needs a cheap-ish first car and isn't a huge car guy so won't be able to do repairs himself.
>>15283779
my last experience with mazda was my dads 2001 626. everything that could go wrong with that car, did go wrong. ended up selling it to the guy who replaced the tranny.
>>15283779
>mazda3
rust issues
hope you dont live in salty places
>>15283801
Las Vegas, so I'm not really worried about rust at all. Hundreds of miles from the ocean and no rain or snow
If German brands are so good then why do they have such a reputation for quality and reliability problems? Seems like they just skate by on their badge.
They have more moving parts. Faggots that want to treat them like a shitty Honda and do not to proper maitence. Lastly people who think you should never have to change your alternator, radiator etc.
>>15283744
You should never have to change your alternator and radiator and if your car does then it's flawed by design.
The rich don't even drive their cars that often anyways.
>It's reliable, it's never failed me on my trips to the country club
etc.
How do I tell if a tie-rod is bad? I never got it.
Put up the car just now, one wiggles, the other one doesn't. I remember it being like this with other tie-rods right. Or is wiggle = 100% a shit?
Is the boot torn or is there grease around the boot?
>>15283712
No tear on the boot. Felt all around it - it's good.
>>15283697
Tie rods=No Free Play
Ball joints can have a bit but tie rods are not supposed to have any.

Should I pull the trigger /o/? It'd be my first car and I won't be able to get it till probably August. Are they reliable? Common issues??
Also general Craigslist thread
>>15283589
It'll be gone by August. Just wait a while before you do anything
ask yourself if you want to foot the bill for lexus parts when it comes time for repairs. there's better shit to spend money on
Honestly, that mileage is a bit too high for comfort. And with that trailer hitch I'd be worried about what kind of condition the transmission's in. Unless they have extensive records of everything that's
been done, I personally would save up a bit more and find a lower mileage GS (or LS for max comfy).
>>15283607
It's a Toyota, not some german, they aren't THAT expensive.
>tfw you can't buy a pickup truck for a near decent price on craigslist during the summer
This is gonna take awhile aint it. Unless they're asking a stupid amount of money, these trucks are gone within seconds. A van or suv would probably work but I don't think I'd get too bored driving a van for personal use and freelancing when I already have a work van I drive 8 hours a day.
I'm going to check out a 97 taco tomorrow, the price sux, and I have to drive 3 hours to get there in a race against other people. I don't know if it's even worth it.
>>15283332
Tacos go for stupid amounts of money. Get a new one or don't. Used is not worth it. F150 or Silvy is your best bet. And yeah, summertime isn't the best time to buy a car. If you can wait, November and December are best because people selling shit for xmas money.
>>15283727
im afraid f150's and silverados are all memed out too, my friend
your best bet is an SUV, then just purchase a utility cart when, and you can use it only when you need a truck bed
Yes, actual practical vehicles cost more than A to B shitboxes.
Friend finder.
Anyone else on here think it would be cool to find out there are other nearby who want to help you with a project, or just like to talk shop.
