It's 11:46 PM, not to mention it's raining outside. You're just going to have to believe me, unless it stops pretty soon and I'll take some in the dark. Here's one I took earlier today.
What does /o/ think of blind spot mirrors?
>>17694072
poor driver mirrors. if you need them you shouldnt drive
>>17694072
they're great, anyone else like
>>17694107
is a redditor
>>17694107
This i only ever see them on old people/womens cars.
you should have your mirrors adjusted to see your blind spots anyway wtf good are they looking at your doors?
the rear view mirror is for seeing behind you god damn people are useless.
Tell me about Holden /o/
what are the best cars they have made?
what are some rare models?
cool concepts they have come up with?
why were their cars never really sold internationally?
what caused their downfall?
will they ever be a competitive brand in the future or not likely?
Generally curious about them.
>>17694010
General Motors goes in all fields.
>>17694010
>Tell me about Holden /o/
Gus guzzling full size sedans, a lot of people modify em here and they're prime targets for the cops.
>what are the best cars they have made?
That's subjective, I personally like the VE shape.
>what are some rare models?
Probably some old as fuck models?
>why were their cars never really sold internationally?
They were, just not to Americans. For example, some were sold in the UAE but re-branded. I think it was the VZ models.
>what caused their downfall?
Government not giving them enough gibs me that but also because taxes here are insane to run a business.
>will they ever be a competitive brand in the future or not likely?
They're shutting down next year m8.
>>17694010
Nothing special, they just catered to the rednecks here in Australia and have a pretty bad reputation/image.
Any one getting this beast?

Guys
How fucked is this paint? I imagine is a lot but us there a chance of rust? It's a 78'
>>17693483
It looks oxidized. A nice cut and polish should do the trick, and then a sealant to keep it from getting bad again.
>>17693504
If it's oxidized it's fine, but maybe it isn't more?
>>17693560
I don't know what more it could me. That old of a car, unless its been resprayed already, the paint os more than likely single stage. As in, both the clear coat and the color are mixed into one, instead of the base coat of color and then the next layer of clear coat like on modern cars.
Your best bet is to get yourself a cheap DA polisher (the one from harbor freight is a good beginner one) and some compound and go to town. You'll have to google which compound is best for you.
Expect to see results like this
Just bought one of this. How much did I fuck up, /o/?
I hope you leased it.
I hope your wife and kids enjoy it because you sure wont.
>>17693422
Leasing is no existent here.
Are El Caminos as practical as people say they are? Or is it just an insecure muscle car?
of course they're practical, as long as you don't have a family to haul.
you're immediately a mexican if you get anything past the fifth gen.
>>17693406
Let me rephrase the question, would an El Camino be good for driving from a to b while hauling shit and still look decent?
>>17693618
as long as it's not a bunch of heavy shit you'll be fine
I keep seeing more and more people going out and purchasing Korean cars, more people driving them and more people posting about them. Maybe time for our own general thread considering we have a "should I buy -insert korean car model here-?" a few times a day it seems.
So anyone here got a Korean car? How do you like it? Both Hyundai and Kia have changed a lot since 10 years ago when they were just buckets of bolts not worth crap, and now they're outperforming other car brands and turning out to be way more reliable too. Even moreso than the likes of Mazda and Honda.
Buy up Korean cars now before Korea is no more and they are collector items.
>>17693362
Imagine a Tiburon being a collectors item.
LMFAO
Is living in my car in Ontario Canada feasible? Has anyone here done this before?
>>17693245
It's too cold
come to the american south friend :)
Totally unfeasible anywhere it gets too cold to sleep outside at night.
VanLifeâ„¢ is possible because people have heaters installed in those things.
>>17693371
Lived in my car over a winter. If you had to you could you have to tarp up your car though. Tied to my wheels with bungees. Slept in 20 degree weather much more comfortably than without a cover I think it's the windows. It was very easy to pick up afterward too, my little Matrix. Damn I miss it
>neighbor 1 has his SUV on jack stands
>I ask "what's up, you doing a brake job?"
>just see a box of pads on the ground
>neighbor 2 comes over and asks if he has lifetime warranty on them
>neighbor 2 says "you're gonna need it" and points to the rotor
>surface is BARE metal, absolutely nothing left for pads to grip
>"damn I didn't think I'd need new rotors yet"
Now I kind of see why regular inspections might not be a bad idea.
>>17693183
>>surface is BARE metal, absolutely nothing left for pads to grip
What kind of stupid bullshit are you trying bait us to respond to?
>>17693183
Inspections are only a pain for people who know what they're doing. They're for everyone else who wouldn't know a brake rotor if it fell out of the sky and hit them in the head, to help keep them from killing someone else when their car fails due to their negligence.
>>17693193
you've been le trolled :)
>got a 60k mile service and state inspection on my car, 2010 civic, 3 weeks ago. Everything passed.
>now already my brakes are shot, grinding at every press, can't stop so well
>seem to have lept straight over the squeak phase and right into grinding
>using another car to get to and from work
Did I just get fucked? I've literally been going to this place for the past 15 years
anyone?
anyone pls
you sure there's not something like a rock or something wedged in there causing the grinding?
seems like almost dead pads would get noticed
What do you think about these kind of videos?
I love 80s cars, and it really fits with the 80 kind of Vaporwave!

voltmeter went low, replaced the battery, same issue. then I realized the alternator wasn't spinning when the car was on(oh well battery needed to be replaced anyways). turned the car off and I can easily make the pulley wheel on the alternator spin with my fingers. looks like all the other shit on the belt is spinning but could it just be that I need to replace the belt?
Adjust belt tensioner if possible, observe result
Replace belt and tensioner if adjustment not possible
>>17692366
And if all that fails, time for a new alternator
