What can /o/ tell me about the Volvo c30?
Looking into getting a new commuter car/DD and these seem like theyd be comfy and fun to drive around in.
Would 15k be good enough to let me find one i like?
Common problems?
Pros/cons?
What engine?
EU/US?
>>15311019
US.
Not sure what engine options it has since ive never gotten into Euro cars besides doing light repair work on my sisters s60.
>>15311004
I own one, great daily. Pre-facelift version looks better in my opinion. Boot space is a bit limited. The 5 cylinder is the only engine available In the states I believe.
Hey/o/, I'll keep this short
>come across aw11
>rusty af (rear fenders, front bumper, etc)
>ran and drove before it was parked for nearly two years outside
>190k miles on non-supercharged 4a
>5th gear slip
>not for sale, but asked the owner, and he might be willing to give for free
>would get it running for me
What concerns me is that there is some severe rust in the trunk, on both sides like pic related. Fenders rusted up so high underneath that the seam in between wheel arch and fender has split. I'm wondering if it would be possible to just chop the bad metal and weld in a new patch, but I've only seen that done to the lower fenders, not anything this high up. Doesn't have to be pretty as long as it works and doesn't rust again. I was planning on slapping on some overfenders after chopping to save fabrication or paying $400 for proper panels. Floor seems good, interior is dusty but near pristine, and sunroof has absolutely no rust.
Thoughts?
With that much rust the only thing the car will be valuable for is accelerating yourself into a wall at an unsurvivable velocity.

>would get it running for me
>he might be willing to give for free
I wonder if he might change his mind after he gets it running again. Unless he's a good friend, people usually don't put in work like that just to give it away.
>>15310931
I'd probably help out. It probably just needs plugs and wires, if that. Hasn't started it since parked, but knowing 4as, it might just start right up. He wants it out of his driveway, and wants to see someone else enjoying it.
God Machineā¢
I saw a black Nismo gtr35 the other day at the beach. Happened to run into the owner on a walk back to my car, started talking to him about it and he offered to let me sit in it. So comfy.
He told me he won it in a bet with his partners at their law firm.
I can't even imagine having a career that puts you into a position to win a $130,000 car.
Made me really think about how hard I fucked up my life.
But the ford gt is le god machine
>>15310860
why did i fuck upmy life so hard that the only friends i have are here
So I got a flat at work, I'm pretty solid on car knowledge but I've only got the standard in-car jack to do the change with cause I'm stuck at work. I'm used to scissor style jacks so quick dumbass question, the point I'm touching on the picture is gonna be the floor point right? I'm not getting crushed to death by a Honda Civic at work.
So like this, better pic.
Are you dumb OP?
>>15310781
if it was the other way you couldn't turn the handle. so yeah, you are right i think.
20yo ASE mechanic here. Only making ~35k/year currently. Any advice on my next career move? Pic related is my bottom box. Snap-On Classic 96 triple bank in electric orange.
>>15310742
Git gud would be a good start. $35k. Fuck. In all honesty, add to your qualifications, diesel mechanic, auto electrician, AC etc.
>>15310742
> Only making 35k
> I hope you didn't take too much of Snap-On's dick

Can someone answer this question that I do not know. Why and how do so many black nig nogs. Ghetto and non are able to afford Dodge's. I'll be cruising in a bad part of town occasionally and see a nice Dodge Charger RT with some nig nog driving it. I'm at the point where when ever I drive by a Charger 9/10 times it'll be a black person driving it. Why is that? Some discount since a family member lives in Detroit?
>>15310589
looked up charger on my local CL. first ten ranged from 3700 to 26k. why are you surprised? the charger is a fucking rental car.
because believe it or not being Black no longer automatically means being poor.
Im black and aside from the snek there isn't a single dodge i couldn't afford (non-lease btw). We are moving up and making money now. Homes, lux apartments, nice cars, etc. Technology jobs pay well and alot of us have picked up on it.
This makes some white people rage because some people feel entitled to better salaries because they are white. But we don't really care. What helps is not getting attached to a bitch. (something that white people are prone to doing to give them some kind of purpose i.e. cuck) So we save on money. We make it pretty clear to white women that we are in it for the sex that their white husbands can't provide to them. We get our dick wet and keep our money; you lose your money, but your wife stays satisfied.
Everyone gets their fair share

Because they buy formal rental chargers/challengers that are beat to shit and nobody else wants them
Car rate thread
>Is this bmw girly or neutral?
>>15310449
I own one and it's girly with the top down
Don't buy one, seriously
>>15310449
old bmws are pretty manly
>>15310449
It's genderfluid.
Can we get a summer roadtrip thread going? What are you guys planning for summer?
Me:
>sports car roadtrip with brother in law
>taking my corvette, he's taking his lotus
>hitting the highest road in america, in colorado
>then vegas
>then white sands, NM
>then home
Detouring I-40 in favor of I-10 on the return trip, because white sands is on the way, and I-40 sucks donkey dick for banging out miles quickly. Can easily blast I-10 at 100+ all day long. I-40 is lots of mountains and the altitude bogs down power.

Sure, I'll contribute OP.
Myself and 3 buddies are loading into an Accord and going to Grand Rapids for a day, loading in a good friend, and making the long haul back to Jersey so he can stay the week then fly back.
Saves money and lets us have a dope road trip for the first time. 5 people in a sedan with luggage is kinda shit to be honest, but it's with friends so well worth the frustration.
Driving side-by-side sounds fun as hell but not with two Hondas and no money for the extra gas expenditures.
Might stop into NYC for a day to see another friend or just check out the Big Apple, but that's up in the air atm.
>>15311398
I have yet to see NYC or any of the New England states. Sounds like fun.
>>15311398
NYC is fucking cool and worth it. You may want to avoid the parkway during vacation season though.
So I was thinking about buying a Jeep
As long as you avoid highways at all costs.
>>15310054
oh that is funny because he just died due to a collision involving him driving a jeep
oh my goodness i can barely stay in my seat!
Oh fuck he the guy from alpha dog

No.
UP
YOUR ENGINES!
It went on like virgin butt sex, but I'm not paying the dealership $139.
>no clamps
rip
>>15309839
Absolutely no way in hell that is coming off. I gave myself a blister putting that. It's just the hose for the wiper fluid, nothing high pressure. I'm going to check it from time to time to see if it slips.
wta am i lookin at?
Why do people that drive these drive like fucking massive asshole dickheads?
Confirmation bias?
>>15309796
Why do all Toyota and non-boyracer Subarus drive like absolute shit extremely slowly while being completely oblivious to things like lanes, signs, and lights?
These are the worse drivers, why is it always women too?

I'm trying to buy a new car or truck and I came across this. I offered $7000, but he declined. kbb.com says it's worth about $6800, should I offer more?
Depends what you want and how much you are willing to spend. Would I spend $7k on a 4 banger fleet Taco? No. You could put 300k miles on that thing but it's not going to be enjoyable, they were made to be a cheap work truck, the 4 cyl has no power.
>>15309664
For the amount of vehicle you're getting and what it is capable of, that's worth about $1500.
>>15309718
>>15309724
So, you recommend against getting it? For that price anyway.
