Sup /o/, this definitely isn't my board but figured you're the ones to ask.
My buddy and I live pretty close together, and we both needed a mower. So we went 50/50 on one and both use it as needed.
He insists we only use premium gasoline because he claims it makes a major difference in prolonging the life of motor. I'm not trying to be Jew cheap but I have a lot of regular gas around.
So my question is, is he correct using premium is really important to prolong life hood of engine? Does it really matter?
He says it matters less on cars, but small engines are more sensitive. Is he right, or am I being memed IRL?
Octane level just dictates how much mixture will combust. Go with whatever the engine needs. If you really want to prolong engine life keep it well oiled (your friend).

It's a fucking mower mate. I'm a mechanic and don't even service my mower, and am currently using old ass fuel I got from a non running jetski I bought to run it on. Unless it's a 20,000 commercial zero turn, just use the cheapest shit you can find.
Ask Carol
Ford GT confirmed to have at least 700 HP!
>"The RXC Turbo 500R is based on the extantRXC Turbkbut comes with new turbos, indirect and direct fuel injection to boost power to 600bhp in standard form, but with a further 100bhp available as an option."
>fastest radical car yet is powered by an EcoBoost V6
>Ford will use this same 700 hp engine in the GT
http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows-geneva-motor-show/radical-unleashes-its-fastest-road-car-yet-geneva-show
Who here is ready to see the competition get BTFO by a V6?
We're still waiting on the official weight though.
>>15378133
Prohibition somewhere around 2600-2800 lbs.
>>15378126
>muh hp
>muh weight
The corvette is almost as fast as a 918 around a track. This thing won't stand a chance.
What's your current project yoo are working on?
>01 Audi TT quatro
>Front bumper plus radiator is getting replaced
>Regular cosmetics will be done soon.
>>15378098
nice blog post, but nobody cares.
>>15378098
Is it the 225 or 180hp one
>>15378107
I'm not expecting for anons to care. Just post a project
Who here dailies an E-85 vehicle?
I'm going to be tuning my car for E-85, within the next couple weeks and I'm unfamiliar with owning an E-85 car.
What are some of the pros and cons?
Obviously, finding locations that have E-85 can be a pain in the ass. There is a location down the street from me that carries it so that's not a problem. I'll also be able to reflash my ECU (since I own the software key) with a secondary 91 octane tune for for long trips.
>>15378050
My general knowledge of high-ethanol fuel:
1. Goes bad much quicker than conventional gasoline; better have a fuel stabilizer if you're going away 1 month+
2. Creates more gunk than conventional fuel
3. Fucks up carburetors; if you have fuel injection, you're good to go.
4. Not all gas stations have E-85 (Which country do you live in?)
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
You spend more than you save.
>>15378089
About my fourth point:
I know that OP has a station with E-85 fuel in his neighborhood, but if he runs low on fuel somewhere else, he's fucked.
Basically, OP will have to make sure the tank is filled up every morning and avoid very long car trips (or carry gallons of fuel in the trunk...)
BMW E30 M3 vs Mercedes 190E Cosworth
Which is better?
E30 M3
@15378437
>>He fell for the ecoboost meme
16 valve 2.3/2.5 motors take boost like a fucking champ. Look for a 190e 2.6 and for a couple thousand on stock internals you can make well over 400hp.
> no low ballers, I know what I got
>>15377890
I absolutely hate that ideology.
They often raise the prices ridiculously, and when you try to bring them down to current market prices they think it's a lowball.
Why are these people so shit?
>>15377924
Same type of people who think because they put $5k of "hop up" parts into a car, they can ask whatever the car normally costs plus $5k. They're called dreamers.
What's stupid about OPs pic is some dumbass boomer will eventually pay that and drive up prices for everyone else. Already happened with most late 60s early 70s muscle cars. Surprised 1st gen mustang coupes haven't gone through the roof yet.
>Honda Civic DX for sale
>CD player, New rims, runs good as new $4,000 obo
Help me fill my tool chest.
What does /o/ keep in their toolbox when their loved one breaks down?
How long on average do you spend in the garage/driveway working on your cars?
>>15377912
Already saw this, thanks though, just wanted to know what other tools anons had or advice regarding tools
>>15377912
What's this? A toolbox for soccer moms?
>oem parts
>oem oil
>oem filters
>oem hubcaps
>oem nuts and bolts
>oem scented tree
Really now?
Don't forget oem blinker fluid
>>15377705
>oem anything
>oem car
>>15377705
>he doesn't use OEM petrol
So I know these are shitcars, but are they still worth owning? I really like the way it looks, a roadster that doesn't scream gay hairstylist.
Would you pay 12 grand for one of these at 50,000 miles.
Only if it was turbo
>>15377694
I thought they only come as turbo.
>>15377688
Fuckin do it, OP.
It's your money. And they're honestly not that bad.
/o/tists just lose their minds over it because it's worth more than their fart canned civic.
So my friend decided to buffer my cars headlights... I told him my lights were tinted and I had to remove them. He said it could be done easily and decided to do it last night.
I checked it this afternoon, what the hell? I don't know much about car details like this, (Hence why I posted here).
Is there a way to fix this soon?
Kinda weak bait desu senpai
Other side...
>>15377415
For real, not trolling at all. I'm a retard for not taking it into a shop instead of trusting a long time friend.
Is the Lincoln Continental just supposed to be a luxury car? What GM product is it competing with?
>>15377337
You're an idiot and this thread sucks.
>>15377368
It's a valid question
>>15377337
>What GM product is it competing with?
Nothing anymore because Cadillac is a cuccboi with an identity crisis trying to copy (old) BMW
This pos caught fire on a local highway, anyone know what make/model it is?

Is the wrangler a girls car?
Depends on the color
I've only seen women drive a silver/yellow/red Jeep
yes
also mediocre off road capability and shit reliability, and have fun driving it over 40mph
woman like it, that's alone makes it worth buying
STILL WAITING ON PERFORMANCE PARTS
ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS
>>15377072
Ecoboost parts? Good decision.
I'm waiting for my Yotsuba from Backyard Tuners, probably gonna take a while to ship overseas
Good things take time. We can't pick individual features in new cars anymore because people like you always demand they can drive their new car off the lot the same time, meaning the dealer has to have most trim combinations in stock, meaning the number of combinations must be reduced. Stop being so god damn impatient.
Now who's copying whom?
>2015 Hyundai Genesis
and
>2017 Audi Qfucking2
>>15376697
what dude ?
of all cars you thinks these two looks the same ?
Ford Fusion and Gillette Fusion
Except the audi looked that way about 15 years ago and the hyundai looked like shit
