Ive got an 01 Hyundai Elantra with a stock alternator and battery. I want to set up a simple system in this car, 4 tweeters, 2 mids, and 2 10s in the trunk. I dont want to up the alternator with this car so that puts me on a cap of the power I can have. Does anyone have some sub/amp recommendations? Im new to car audio and dont want my car to sound like a rattling mexican car, just want it to hit harder than it does now

Pls be bait
>>15388362
1. You don't need to upgrade the alternator if it's just 2 10's. I run 2 12's on the stock 90amp Alt. If you battery is older, replace it.
2. Your car is going to rattle like a 'mexican car'. If you *must* avoid that, then you'll want to dynamat the car and avoid ported subwoofer boxes.
3. Take it to a shop run by Mexicans and don't try it yourself, you'll damage it.
Questions?

I don't know anything about cars boys, but I need to come up with a good excuse as to why my car won't start so I can go into work late. They think it's in the shop right now and that I'm waiting for it to finish getting worked on. What do you guys suggest I say the problem is?
Thanks in advance. Pic related

bad starter
Slow leak in your tire or your brake light went on and you were worried so you brought it in. Turns out it was a faulty float in your MC.
Just picked this up for $300. They said all I needed was a radiator, bumper and some wheels.
Anyone else get any great deals over the holiday weekend?
That's gonna need more that just a radiator, bumper and some wheels.
Fenders, for one.
>thinks that is a good deal
I paid $3k for my Ferrari.
>>15387830
Yeah I figure I can drive without fenders though, no big deal.
>>15387853
How is it not a good deal? I literally got a car for only 2 weeks salary.
So, last week some drunk asshole rear ended my car. It was written off and they cut me a cheque. It's less than I paid for the car but it's enough to buy a decent replacement.
>2010 Charger sxt, 93000 kms $8700cad
>2006 Chrysler 300 108000 kms $6000cad
These are the lowest mileage cars I could find that look to be in decent shape. The 300 needs a new fob but that's fuck all. Gonna take these out for a rip and see which one I like. But anyone with experience with either wanna speak to the long term reliability? Will be a daily driver.
Pic related. I drove one just like it for a few years.

Shut up and buy a Civic
>>15387800
Reliability and Chrysler have nothing in common.
>>15387844
That was my fear with a 300 but I dont know anyone who drives one. All the info I get from it is from the web.

No vtec
>>15387664
this.
The GTR's engine weighs 608 lbs. A 3.5L EcoBoost engine weighs 446 lbs. Not to mention the EcoBoost makes more power and torque. The GTR would only benefit from an EcoBoost engine. It's already good but ecoboost would make it better.

Who cares? The Red Bull team stopped being good years ago. Should've built the car before F1 became a Mercedes/Hamilton show.
I dont know how i feel
So, I am looking to buy a car for myself and want to get something that is both interesting and nice. I always liked Saab and think the late model Saabs prior to banruptcy looked beautiful.
Planning on picking up a low milage 9-5 aero turbo from the late 2000s/early 2010s but I wanted to know what cons there are going to be associated with the car aside from the obvious difficulty of finding specialty mechanics.
>>15387274
Just buy a Ford EcoBoost car instead.
>>15387279
he said he wants something that's both interesting and nice.
>>15387284
You literally just described ecoboost. Except it's also fast. Really fast. Really fucking fast.
i bought a 2008 v6 mustang for my first car for $8,000 and 68,000 miles i know next to nothing about cars and i've had next to no problems since i've had it. did i pick an alright first car and what problems should i expect in the future
>>15387010
the only problem i've had is the uphostery on the doors started falling down and i had to fix it with spray adhesive
You got fucked.
Those cars are 4k to 6k in excelent conditions.
I know that because I sold one to get a 2011 Mustang, which cost me 8k.
Im aorry anon.
Btw You thermostat housing is going to break down the road, Ford used the same ones that the explorer uses and those are made out of cheap plastic.
>>15387043
i do live in california which might inflate the prices a little but even then i searched for weeks and couldnt find one under 80k miles for less than $8,000
>mazda
+brand new
+free maintenance for 3 years
+warranty so problems don't cost me anything
+far newer tech
+available in manual
+super efficient
-FWD
-4 cylinders only making 184 hp and similar numbers for torque
-slightly more cramped rear seats
-meh bose sound system
-no cooled seats
-bumpier ride
>lexus
+v8 with 290 hp and even more torque
+rwd
+vippu status
+able to tune and customize because no warranty and full ownership
+cooled seats
+available ultra luxury package which adds air suspension, nice looking wood, rear seat controls, rear massaging seats, and rear bottle cooler
+god handling like you should expect from mazda
-no warranty
-dated navigation screen with resistive digitizer
-maps for navigation only go up to 2013
-not too keen on handling
-looks like a grampas car stock
-750lbs heavier
-abysmal gas mileage
tough decision but i'm kinda leaning towards the mazda
RWD is enough reason for me to go to lexus
also the free maintenance is so strict that if you go over a kilometer at let say 10K Km then your free maintenance is gone. Go ask the dealer
also fuel efficiency is overrated, it varies so much
Leasing never resonates with me, you're left with nothing after 3 years.
Why not a used, more recent Mazda3?
>>15386963
i kinda want more room in the rear
All hail the bro truck... It's a lot better than the vagina you drive in plus it adds 12 inches to my penis.

You're a faggot OP. Get the fuck off the phone and fix those images.
Been thinking of trading my Mazda 3 in and getting a V8 mustang. I'm on the fence on which one though, found a 2004 Mustang Cobra terminator with 20k miles going for $24k that I'm really taking a liking to. But on the other hand, idk if I should just go all out and get a new 2016 GT. What would be the better option as far as performance and reliability goes? I need real advice here ok, no mustang jokes or GM/dodge fangirls trying to derail this thread
Terminator if you want old-school fun. Thing will kick the tires out on a dime.
Termi's are impressive still but honestly a new GT is a lot more to work with. Of course, for the price difference a cobra will shit all over a stock GT.
get a 15+ gt performance pack
source: i have one
Will they ever bring it back?
>>15385584
Why would they? It's slower than a V6.
>>15385584
Doubt it.
>tfw no SRT4 Dodge Dart
They need a new chassis. they'll either have to work their magic with the current one to get it to meet safety regulations or design a whole new one which could be expensive as hell.
The current Viper is ending production on a good note so i'm kinda scared of what they might bring it "back" as. if their just going to take a Ferrari (and this very well might be a realistic possibility) and put a Viper logo on it then why bother. just let the name go and move on if they are just going to try and make it a hallow shape of its former self. (at least keep the engine until it can't meet emissions anymore) Surprisingly the engine isn't the problem its just the damn chassis. engine still has life to give until its banish by the Lords of Smog.
I don't necessarily like the way the new "Supra" is coming back. (aka BMW Supra not even built by Toyota)
