After a little bit of saving and a small loan i managed to buy this beauty.
Year 2001, 1.8l engine, 120 hp.
Opinions?
Post your 1st car, bought with your own earned money, not dad's.
>small loan on a 1000€ car

I had a full Polk Audio MM series setup in my Wrangler for a few years. Bought everything on eBay for about $1,500. Had 5-1/4" components in the dash, 6-3/4" components in the overhead soundbar and two 8" subs in the back. Had a 500 watt rms 4 channel Polk amp for the components and a 500 watt rms Kenwood amp for the subs. The speakers lived fine in the Wrangler since they are marine rated, but over time the amps developed corrosion and eventually fried. It's not my dd anymore so I never bothered replacing them. Now I've got a mustang gt premium with the Shaker 500 sound system. It's alright for stock, but ultimately I want to replace the door speakers including the 8" shallow subs with some nice component speakers and maybe put a couple of 10" subs in the back.
>small time broke nigga goals
I want to own one.

>small time broke nigga goals
Broke people goals?
I want to score some crazy powerful engine/tranny combo out of a wrecked whatever and swap it into a nice cheap shell off Craigslist
here
Sup /o/
Are you using any of these on your shitbox right now? What for?
>rear bumper
>wire harness
>door panel
>>15649521
None. Unless honda used some at the factory.
Got some wires running under panels that are zip-tied together, got RCA zip tied so that it doesn't interfere with steering column. That's about it. Got some ties in my headlight wiring because aftermarket, but nothing more.
muffles sagging a bit so i ziptied it up. probably shouldve used metal ones
Is Ford pretty much the shittiest leech brand ever?
>they had to borrow Fiat and PSA diesel units because they couldn't into diesel engines
>they had to borrow Volvo Inline 5 engines because they couldn't into I5s
>they had to borrow Mazda petrol engines because they couldn't into petrol engines
What a shit brand, can't even make their own engines.
probably Peugeot

>!mjet.oRqBk
>>15649055
Can't agree with you, anon. Peugeot actually used to provide engines to various brands back in the day.
>>15649063
You can't argue with my points, famalam.
find a flaw
>>15646626
It seems that some ill-informed person destroyed the nice handling of that cute shitbox, by lowering it and putting wide tires on. A shame, but easily rectified.
if it wasn't so fucking expensive to insure a tdi one I would love to buy one as a beater.
>>15646641
From what I understand, the MK1 and 2 golf/jetta have THE shittiest suspension setups ever for street legal cars... or at least they should be. Basically they are gocarts, and they are some weird form of under-engineered anti-handling trainwreck.
You can slam them and it hardly makes a difference. I think that's why so many people do it.
I looked on RockAuto and although the parts are well priced shipping is awful. Any place you leafs know for cheap parts? (GTA btw)
>>15650275
>Canadian complaining about aweful shipping from Rock Auto
>meanwhile i paid $50aud+ just for shipping tinyass parts that cost $30
Yeah nah get fucked leaf
>>15650275
Do you order stuff online frequently? It's always brutal getting shit shipped to Canada. If you find cheaper shipping you'll probably just get charged more in duties. At least Rockauto doesn't have duty charges and shipping was reasonable for the amount of weight. Getting everything to ship from the same warehouse is a bitch though.
>>15650287
What do canadians consider brutal shipping anywayS?
Okay. Have a 2009 Jetta TDI being bought back by VW in November. They are giving us 16k for it. What is the best value in a new car around this dollar? Civic, corolla, sentra, gas Jetta --- all about 20k. Yaris, fit, versa, fiesta, all around 14-16k. What's the best we could do without putting out another 5+k. Would obviously rather not have to spend anything, but...
id keep it.
its a pretty good car isnt it?
>>15648944
Is that Bruce motherfucking Lee?
>>15648976
Shit yeah
I noticed the clutch pedal was completely loose and then I looked under the car and saw a puddle of brake fluid.
Then I figured out it was the slave cylinder that was shit and I replaced it. Now there is a response when pressing the clutch pedal but it doesn't disengage the clutch until I press the pedal to the floor.
What can cause that? I don't think there are air bubbles in the hydraulic line.
Oh and the car is a Saab 900C, '89.
Sounds like you need to bleed everything again.
>>15647975
slightly off topic but,
how can you drive a hydraulic clutch? Wouldn't you not be able to feel the clutch bite?
So I took my car to a honda meet (prelude)
And this prick with a k24 turbo EG says to me
"You car is really nice, it's cool to see a prelude so well kept and loved despite not being one of the good hondas"
I screamed what the fuck do you mean preludes aren't good hondas!.
Then all these dudes were like "Chill out bro, screaming like that makes you look weird,"
Then I went on about how he said preludes are shit cars and the guys were like "Sorry dude but I have to agree.
Honda owners are so fucking pretentious.
>>15647781
I would rather have a eg than a prelude
Also screaming to get your point across.. I have some bad news for you
>>15647781
You're right. Some Honda owners are pretentious faggots, just look at how you sperged out
>>15647781
What is it a prelude to?
Why is it so hard to find a used/CPO car that's got good gas mpg and isn't 20 years old and expensive? I've mainly been looking at hybrids because of the good mileage as well as I can get access to the hov Lane which would cut down my commute time in half.
So far I've looked at:
>Chevy Volt
>Ford C-Max
>Ford fusion hybrid
I have been trying to avoid the prius because my friends would give me shit even though they're not the ones paying for it or my gas. I just hate the stigma priuses have.
-I have a budget of $16k and my commute is 53 miles a day and I drive 300 miles once a month to go to another state. Does /o/ have any other suggestions?
I drive a Spark
They have AC problems
I get mid 30s hwy and city
No drive train problems three years and 33k miles in
>>15647700
A Ford Fiesta. If you dive it correctly, you'll get great MPG's from both a Petrol or Diesel version.
But then again, it's about how you drive affecting the MPG in any car
>>15647700
Post your local craigslist too
Looking at buying one of these, pic related.
2.0l Vtec Petrol S-type model. 78000 kms on clock.
Any issues with these cars?
I've heard they are bulletproof and nothing bad happens with them, but then again some people say the same about VW and thats NOT true.
Advice /o/?
Manual? You'll be fine.
Auto? Run away. Far away.
>>15647696
yeah, its a manual.
Any issues with any parts of the car in general?
I've heard Honda parts are quite expensive if anything goes wrong, and for servicing.
>>15647724
That probably depends on the country you're in. Most people on this board are from the US and will tell you Honda parts cost next to nothing, but German car parts cost an arm and a leg.
In Europe, German car parts cost way less, whereas Japanese parts tend to be more expensive than in the US.
I haven't really heard of reliability issues with Accords though, besides the automatic transmissions I mentioned in my first post.
is this a good interior? how would you rate it?
Racecar/10
>>15647621
Very practical but the pedals look a bit weird
7/10
>>15647672
whats wrong with the pedals? looks easy to heel toe
How the fuck does this guy have an r33 skyline in the states registered??
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wBhlBIfmPr4
I have the same car but im stationed in italy and would almost suck a dick to bring it back but its not 25 years old yet since its 1995..
>>15647530
JK Technologies in MD, look them up because they hold the patent to make R33s street legal in the states
>>15647530
JK Technologies is certified to convert Skyine GTS-T's and GTRs (ONLY R33 models. R32 and R34's need not apply). IIRC, the conversion is like 10k on top of the price of the car and import fees
>>15647530
That car is 100% a grey market illegal import
QUICKLY, /o/, YOU HAVE TO GET TO LAS VEGAS IN THE TOP 150
