Does /o/ drive after drinking any amount? I got a DUI about 10 years ago for smoking pot and since them I've been paranoid as fuck about drinking and driving. I heard so many firsthand accounts about people getting DUI for having legitimately one (1) beer, DUI in parked car in driveway, DUI while sleeping in car, DUI for no beers (me).

Since then I will not drive if my BAC is believed to be over .01. Recently I am becoming more social around town and I bought pic related, just to be sure.

So, /o/, do you drink and drive?

German here, where you can have 0.5‰ bac if your ability to drive isn't affected. Depending on your metabolism you can have 1-4 beers and still be in the limit. I stick to max. 2 beers if I know I'll drive in the next few hours. However I haven't been stopped yet in contrast to my friends. My '08 Lancer or my '08 Scirocco (both unmodded) seem to look too serious to think I'd drive drunk. My friend with a lowered Polo or another one with a rusted Seat Ibiza is stopped regularly.

Fun fact: If you go by bike and drive straight etc you can have 1.6‰ bac in Germany. How's this in other countries?
>>
>>15743037
Is that a typo? Because I'm pretty sure that 0.5% is damn near dead.

My car is burning a quart of oil nearly every week and i suspect its the piston rings.

I dont have the money to fix it and i dont have the skill to do it myself. Would it be bad for my engine to just keep driving the car for another coupke years refilling the oil every couple weeks? Its either that or sell it. Pic related, my engine.

You could but I think your valves are gonna get gunked up.

Nothing, im just trying to prepare for the scenario. How much do valve stem seals cost on average to replace? Is it possible to diy?

Every vehicle in Mazda's line up is best in class, so why aren't they making more money? They are still the smallest "big name" brand.

Because they were held back by ford forever.
They are gaining momentum now.
>inb4 instigators
>>
Possibly because Honda and Toyota always overshadowed them. I'd bank on it being that mazda is a little bit more expensive for similar features when comparing cars like the civic vs the 3, or the camry vs the 6. ect ect.
Base models are a different story, but i know a decently equipped mazda 3 can get to like 23k or 25k pretty quick depending on the engine you want.
Also maybe that whole rust/shit paint thing they went through a few gens ago hurt sales, who knows.

Shamefully copied from legendary VINbro's threads

Old thread is autosaging
Old thread here; >>15647286
>I am able to run US/Canadian VINs (anything with a fitting VIN; bikes, cars and so on) and US plates. For plates the same rules apply as VINs; 1981 or newer, US registered, and the plate and state are needed. Plates do work most of the time, but VINs are more reliable.
>Please remove hyphens (dashes) from VINs/plates - unless they happen to be part of a vanity plate. This makes copying and pasting easier.
>I can only run vehicles in/originally in the USA/Canada. If they've been exported from the USA/Canada, a report with their time here will be available. Not yet sure about imported cars.
>Vehicles need to be of the 1981 model year or newer. That's when standardized VINs began. Anything older simply cannot be run for a report.
>There are never I(i), O(o), nor Q(q) in VINs. This is to avoid confusion with 1 and 0. So if you are unsure, it is always 1 or 0 (not the case for classic cars, but they cannot be run anyway).
>VINs must be 17 characters exactly. No more, no less.
>If you want the PDF-file you can open the page source (F12) and search "amazonaws", copy the whole link and put it in your browser. This should allow you to download the PDF. If its not working send me an email at [email protected]. Please leave a reply if you do so

Best 2 seater hypercar powertrain and layout config?

Is it a V8 TT with 3 electric motors (one on the crank and two on the wheelshaft), mid-engine, and AWD?

What config can beat this before law of diminishing returns kicks in and you have a heavy ass Bugatti Veyron not capable of taking turns greater than 40mph?

What's the point of brake-checking? How is brake-checking performed and under what circumstances? What do brake-checkers expect to accomplish?

I'll start with this shit that just came to my attention.
>Squatted trucks
Recently moved to a southern US state and this is all the rage with upper middle class young rednecks.

When I first saw one I thought it was the typical blown shocks or he must have some heavy shit in the bed I couldn't see but after seeing the 5th one in the same day I started to lose even more faith for this shithole I live in.

I'm not a big fan of stanced cars or the minitruck scene but I get why some would be and the appeal to it. I cannot wrap my head around the appeal of squatted trucks. Reverse rake is probably the least appealing suspension stance a car could have and to do it on purpose doesn't make any sense to me.

tldr the 'Carolina Squat' or "Tennessee Tilt" is the worst car trend I have ever seen. pic related

The solution to traffic is less people. We need less people and to stop clusterfucking into huge cities.

I don't know why we keep making solutions to support more and more people. There is an upper limit to this ship we're on.

People would rather bury their heads in the sand than deal with issues at hand.

Most people probably don't know what a Malthus is either.

How exactly are you planning to implement this?
1-child policy? Good luck dealing with a socitey of old people.

If we can, feasibly, support more people why the fuck shouldn't we?
