You must use this engine for a swap.
What car/truck do you choose (it must already have a diesel engine)?
It has 12k HP.
Diesel Fiat

miats obviously
a kenworth 953
Hi all, I've got a stumper that's running me ragged. Grandparents have a 2000 intruder motorhome on a Ford 53 (?) Chassis. 6.8 triton v10
Issues
-Cat got red hot while driving
Removed and gutted then reinstalled
-No power
-Misfire on right bank
-Misfire on 3 cylinder left bank
All sparkplugs replaced today (OEM), boots look new, coils all ohm roughly 1-1.2 across terminals.
So no power, right bank won't fire, one cylinder on left bank won't fire, smells pig rich and doesn't seem to have an obd2 port (weird for an 02) and frankly I'm lost. My grandfather is heading the repair as I'm in another town so we're on phone relay. He's an incredible mechanic but not a Ford man and doesn't have a lot of experience with the triton platform. I don't think he'd miss an obd2 port but we can't locate one. It's the COP ignition so no distributor. Maybe an oxy sensor causing rich? I thought most bad oxy caused lean condition. Thank you in advance.
>Triton V10
It's possible your spark plug holes are fucked, that thing is notorious for shooting them out or having fucked up threads.
>>15720115
I thought bad o2 sensors always went rich. But I'm just a benchracer. I hear those V10s are awful and I just saw a new F550 Penske truck or some bullshit with the badge today. Didn't even know they made those anymore when the obvious choice is just a diesel.
Bad injector.
Replace cylinder 3 injector, replace all plugs.
I dealt with this exact issue just 2 weeks ago on an F-150.
How to maximise fuel mileage on Silverados, F-150s, and Tacoma, and even those small UTEs like Rangers and Hiluxes.
Truck cap? 60psi tyres? Thin tyres? Buy an SUV?
light loads, slow accelerations

Replace with one of these with the diesel engine:

Is it even worth it or should i just go with a Toyota GT86 ?

They're very different cars OP

>They're very different cars OP
So that's why we keep reading "Buy a BRZ? Just get an WRX STi instead, it's faster"?
>Should I get a fat turd, or a slow turd?
Getting new car
Be a cucklordfaggot and get a 3 series, or buy a base lexus rc for that reliability
Or a sti and spend the rest on vape juice
>>15719790
Go drive them. The third-gen IS has great steering feel compared to the 340i. It also has a fantastic chassis and suspension. The 340i is faster in a straight line though.
I'd imagine the RC feels similar to the IS, except it's heavier and supposedly the Frankenstein chassis isn't that good.
I would suggest driving the 340i, IS350 F-Sport, and XE.
>>15719790
If the BMW 3 series diesel is available in your region just get it. Otherwise go for the Lexus.
>>15719790
I would probably go for a base lexus if they come stick, or get an STI, and instead of vape juice get a really fucking loud exhaust and a rally car type misfiring system like the lan evo guys in second stage
Pic related, also will have to drive it in snow this winter
>>15719730
get something you wont regret smashing around until you learn to be a decent driver
then go for it and have a good time
They're actually not all that horrible in the snow due to the amount of weight on the rear axle
They sit a bit too low to be "good", but with a good set of tires you shouldn't have much to fear compared to other normal cars

Good luck finding a good one
So I bought a car, and the ad said clean title. Come to find out its restored salvage. Not only that, but on the vin report it said that obviously it was a total loss, but (can't remember the exact verbiage desu) that it was like not running or some similar indication when it was hit. Either way, he didn't mention it.
I know it's I didn't look at it, I know im retarded, etc etc I get it. I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do legally, I took a screenshot of the Craigslist ad as well. And do I just call him out or am I supposed to get an attorney or something? Or am I just fucked. I could deal with it, it's just kind of annoying. Didn't see any frame damage or anything but still
Was the VIN listed in the ad?
>>15719721
I don't believe it was
Your fucked that's why titles transfer the way they do.
Help me decide if I should fix up my old, busted Trooper II (pic not mine, but similar)
I've got an old '88 Trooper II that's been basically sitting for 2 years. I stupidly let the battery die from non use (That fucker held on for over a year surprisingly). I stopped driving it because of a head gasket leak and never fixed it because the exhaust header & bolts were rusty as fuck and I figured I couldn't get the bolts out and ended up buying a new car (also wanted A/C lol).
So I was bored and fucking with it and the bolts surprisingly cracked right off the bat.
So.... To be back in good running order it needs at least a new head gasket, an oil change obviously, and probably all fluids flushed and refilled, brakes need rotors and pads replaced (have all the parts already), and I figure might as well get the timing belt and water pump as well while I'm in there. Oh, and a new battery.
Do you guys think I should go for it? The beast only has 50k miles on it, and it was so much fun to drive.
What else should I worry about from it sitting so long? It was on empty luckily so hopefully the gas tank is fine. And it does run, drove it around for like an hour about 2 months ago trying to recharge the battery...
tl;dr is it kill or should I fix it?
>>15719676
Also paint is all oxidized to shit, has no A/C, and one of the brackets on the driver seat broke so it moves around a bunch.
On the plus side, has a better stereo than my newer car, interior aside from a little bit of old powdery plastic is in nice shape, and of course 4 wheel drive is great.
>>15719676
You're a faggot. You should've fixed it immediately and took it to a professional since you couldn't do it
>>15719709
I was also busy in grad school, and convinced myself to buy a newer car for A/C and such, was going to sell the trooper but never got around to it and now I sort of want to fix it. So, advice?
Also taking it to a professional was expensive compared to DIY so I didn't want to spend all that money on an old truck when it was a good chunk of a newer car.
How much is a 88' mustang gt convertible with a 302 bored over to 306 with engine mods such as heads, cam, and intake worth? Overall car is in good condition.
>>15719629
>Buying a convertible Mustang
Kill you are self my man
>>15719629
Assuming gt40 heads/intake and an e303 cam and the engine being rebuilt, maybe 4 grand if the paint is nice. Theyre starting to appreciate.
$2000-$5000
what dose /o/ think of the peugeot 106
thinking of getting one should i get the diesel or the petrol version
better than a twingo
>>15719592
>handles great
>not much that can go wrong
>good engines
>you'll die if you crash at any speed above 50km/h
If you're going for a regular 106 get a 1.9d. Those engines literally last forever.
I got the 1.4 petrol.
I absolutely hate it, its the definition of shitbox though. You can beat it to death.
Its super brutal at highway speeds, whole car rattles like a fuck and sounds like its about to explode.
Also problematic to accelerate in highway, other cars will smash into you if youre not ready to merge in at appropriate speed.
Shit at turning.
Shitload of things are broken, plastic doesnt hold well.
Probably more related to my own 106, consumes more fuel than I'd expect for this shit performance.
why is smart so shit
>>15719530
cause they are not very smart
>Fiat
kek, such a fucking shitbrand
/g/ has a chink shit general why don't we?
Post stuff you'd consider buying a slapping on your car.

Hey /o/ I just bought a V6 Mustang with 100,000 miles for $6500. Was this a bad buy? Im a wagecuck with no credit and really wanted a car so I went for it. Did I fall for the muscle car meme?
>>15719343

you fucked up senpai

You can definitely do worse
>>15719343
>I'm a faggot that wanted instant gratification and bought a worse vehicle than if I had saved and built credit
Kill yourself.
>be me
>driving to school in the morning
>get on main road, begin to acclerate
>50 feet on, see a woman walking her dogs on the opposite of the road
>sees me coming and puts her arms up in a frustrated manner
>flips me off as I drive past
This happens every morning I drive past her without exception. I'm on my side of the road and I'm not driving at an excessive speed (~40mph) so I'm convinced the only solution is to have fun with it. What can I do to maximize her anger?
>>15719249
Buy some dog treats and toss them near the dogs on the road as you drive past.
louder exhaust famalam
Crazy loud BOV
>>15719249
Give her the finger every morning.
I need some advice from anyone who lives in CA. I'll be moving from PA sometime next winter and I currently have a golf and an s13, both are straight piped and have healthy amounts of money and aftermarket parts, and if at all possible I would like to keep both. My question is regarding inspection and smog, as where I am in PA my daily being a tdi doesn't require emission inspection, and my s13 is just "passed" by a buddy. Should I keep the PA plates? Is it smarter to sell the 240? Thanks
Yeah, you're fucked. Sell them both.
