So I let my insurance lapse a couple of months due to unexpected life expenses and needed the extra $300 a month in my pocket. Just my luck that an animal jumped out in front of me and I got in a car wreck with no one else involved and no one hurt, I drove the car home just fine but damage is extensive.
My question is if I buy insurance now with a new company (because my old one obviously knows how long I haven't been insured) can they see the months that I had no insurance on some record? How long should I wait before making a claim, obviously not the same day but would 1, 2 or 3 weeks be long enough? People do actually buy new cars and crash them right off the lot after insuring them so it's not completely unbelievable I could get in a wreck so soon after getting coverage, right? I have NEVER made a claim before on any insurance or been in any wreck before so maybe this will help me and be less suspicious?
Thank you for any help I really put myself in a fucked position where the car might have $5000-10000 worth of damage and while that's not close to the %80 rule of thumb to total the car it's not by any means pennies so I doubt it will go very easy.

ITT: We talk about the worst type of fanboys. Be it fanboys of a specific manufacturer, a specific car, or a specific type of car, we vent our pent-up rage here. Let it all out, /ol/.
In my opinion, the worst type of fanboy is the Teslafag.

EVs get 100% of their torque/power all at once, so they of course of great acceleration. But EVs are quick, not fast. In other words, they have great acceleration, but "meh" top speeds.

Notice that in all of these "Tesla beats (x)" videos, it's always a 1/4 mile drag race. The Tesla, being an EV, has the advantage (as I explained before). Drag races are more about acceleration than top speed, so the Tesla almost always comes out on top. And if there is a video of a Tesla LOSING to an ICE car, it's "well it's still pretty good for a family car" (which is still completely redundant as, being an EV, it still has an advantage regardless of class).

Musk is a good guy, he's a goddamn genius, and he certainly makes some good cars. But God damn. These people treat him like the 2nd coming of Christ. And ever since that whole thing with Jeremy Clarkson VS Elon Musk over his Roadster, he's always come off as a bit whiney. But regardless, these guys suck Elon's dick for their daily dose of protein.

Say anything positive about an ICE car, or say anything negative about EVs, and you get this hyper-elitist motherfucker all over your shit. Once I said that I prefered a BMW over a Model S and I got (from my memory) "How's it feel living in the past, Grandpa? Still enjoying your horse and carriage? Tesla is the future of cars. I seriously don't understand why people still buy ICE cars.". But the point is, we don't know. We don't know shit about the future. Most predictions about future tech fail. EVs aren't a new concept, either. Time will tell.

So it seems that AM General was chosen by the USPS to design the next mail truck. The USPS has already set out rudimentary guidelines for what they want, and AM General's gonna make a few prototypes for them to look over.
So we'll probably see the iconic Grumman LLV phased out within the next decade or so.
The Grumman LLV has been in service since 1987, when it replaced the Jeep DJ, which was a modified variant of the Willys. The LLV uses an Iron Duke engine, though supposedly the USPS is looking for fuel efficiency and potentially zero emission options for their next vehicle.

Maybe the new trucks can have a small battery bank, with a electric motor driving the wheels and a gas motor to generate electricity. I think that would be the most efficient setup for the stop and go driving they do.
