Less power
More weight
Smells like ass
Harder to work on
More expensive fuel
Sounds stupid
Diesel a shit

Off fuck off with that biased bullshit most of that is flat out wrong
>>15943989
>Less power
More torque
>More weight
Better built motor due to higher compression
>Smells like ass
Yea.... It's an acquired smell.
>Harder to work on
Bullshit. You have no ignition system to maintain/service
>More expensive fuel
FAR better fuel economy
>Sounds stupid
It can be louder depending on the motor, but "stupid" is subjective
>Diesel a shit
No, it's not. As someone who owns both gas and oil burners, they are just different.
What is the fastest, but also cheapest sports car to maintain ever made?
ecoboost
From all cars and brands, I find Panoz so fucking ugly
Holy shit

Does an iron block wear down less than an aluminum block and so last longer?
>>15946622
protip: the wear surfaces on an aluminium block aren't aluminium
An aluminum block typically has iron liners. However, you'll end up with galvanic corrosion. Aluminum is probably worse in the long wrong. Obviously a iron block will still rust but an all iron engine will be better off wear wise

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear a particular brand's name?
Porsche, Nazis

Fiat--cheap Italian piece of shit with horrible electronics that is sure to break down/fall apart
Infiniti - they used to be good underrated cars
How should you react in a rear wheel drive car to rear end suddenly losing grip?
Let off the gas and let go of the wheel
>>15945629
Jesus take the wheel
>>15945624
stab the gas and cut the wheel toward the nearest wall/ditch
Just bought a '87 civic si for $600. Guy said timing belt had snapped. Knowing its an interference engine I know the valves are probably bent. I have already confirmed the belt is snapped by removing the upper timing cover. Should I take the head off and check the valves or should I just replace the belt, change the oil and see if it has decent compression? I know my chances aren't good, but I figure I should at least try. Pic related is the car I bought on the uHaul I rented to pick it up. (The Trump sticker was there when I bought it.
>>15948699
You can usually pull the valve cover snd check. Its easier than the whole head.
>>15948719
How could I check that with the cover off?
Time to import a motor from Japan and strap that in.
If the belt's snapped you can assume the valves took one hell of a beating. Even if it runs, it's not going to go much further.
US spec motors were horrible for imported cars in the 80s/90s, I'll admit that being from Aus means I don't have first-hand knowledge, you're still probably better off importing a motor from overseas than you are buying one in salvage or a reco'd state.
The Subaru Impreza WRX features the least depreciation of any car on the market (any car that isn't a 911 GT3, Cayman GT4, or mid-engined halo car)
Why is the WRX market so stable even when compared to superior vehicles?
Is there a better purchase available?

>>15947671
So you are saying, if someone buys this, there is a substantial market that one could resale this car to?
I'm not keen on losing money needlessly.
>>15947688
there is a good chance, if you buy a subashit you will be hated by your fellow american for buying a faggoty piece of shit
>Do the oil giants want us to believe that more expensive gas will make our cars perform better and also increase our engine's lifespan?
I think it's just a fucking marketing scheme!
>>15946133
Put what your car is rated for. Do not put 87 in a rotary.
>>15946133
Why do you yanks even have 87.
The only ones we can buy here are 90 and 93 (labeled 95 and 98, because why the fuck not?)
>>15946142
But many rotaries, even with turbos, are rated for 87.
Serous question, how do people afford expensive cars? I'm talking cars above $30K

At what age did you grow out of muscle cars? Pretty much everyone I know used to want a big veeate when they were little, but over time their tastes matured and refined.
when violence started to turn me on and I realized how easy it would be to end a life with a car so I became paranoid and started driving very slowly and cautiously. Psychosis is a motherfucker.
You see this (You)? You won't get it with bait of such poor quality.
>>15951374
I think I went the opposite way and grew into liking mucsle cars. When I first got into cars, I only liked lightweight, high horseower raecars for the street and thought musclecars were heavy, poor=handling, and not even that fast in a straight line. Then I actually got a license and bought a car of my own. Driving around town made me realize that there really isn't a practically need for knife-edge handling and braking. I also developed a taste for classic car styling.
Here's a leak of a render from GM for the new C7 ZR1... new pics of it out and about in kentucky as well
Will it finally last more than 6 miles?

How do you guys drive for fun?
I recently bought a Golf GTI and, while I enjoy driving it, I don't know how to really drive "for fun". Supposedly, it's a "fun" car. Pretty much all of the roads around me are populated and have low speed limits. Yeah, I can get on the highway and enjoy the acceleration, but there's only so many times you can do that.
Why do you guys enjoy driving? When do you drive when it's not a necessity? While I really like my car, I could have spent 4-5k less and got a car that's every bit as comfortable but worse at "driving"
the only way to have fun is acting like a retard or curvy roads
going fast is for less than intelligent folks and teenagers who just got their license
>>15948393
If that's the case, then why do so many people here buy cars that are impractical for things other than fun driving, like Miatas and such?
>>15948376
Go out at night and hit a technical road hard. Hard enough to go out of your comfort zone but not out of you or your car's skill level.
If you don't find it fun then driving isn't really your hobby

I'm in Florida and they are making us work despite the fact that a hurricane is probably going to directly hit where I live. Can't even help prepare because I have to work.
Redpill me on Twin Turbo 300ZX, good examples on Craigslist around me for about 10K, what do you guys think?
This thread again?
I'll be honest. Mine has given me issues with the power steering hose and tps in the three months I've had it. Both have been more of a pain in the ass to fix than they are on a more normal car.
I also think mine is starting to knock, so I sent an oil sample in to blackstone. Fingers crossed.
