In the 1980s, these engines weren't the most reliable. But that was 30 years ago.

So what's the biggest downgrade you've ever done in terms of car ownership? like going to an older year or worse car.
Two years ago before I moved out, my dad went from a 2008 Passat 2.0t highline to a 2003 Jetta base model. We went from comfort and okay power to slow shitbox real quick.

Is there a generic name for the kind of car that only seats one person wide? (A second passenger would sit in back, not to the left or right of the driver.) Tango and Elio are recent examples, but there have been many of these.
And why is this form not very popular? Many people rarely drive with others in the car.

Because people who live alone and never have any reason to drive somebody else prefer to take public transportation. The demographic that could be interested in this largely lives in the city where having your own car costs a lot and isn't very practical in the first place.
Redpill me on the AE85 (sorry, I wanted to say it at least once). After all, you can just change the engine, brakes and tranny. Some 86s have LSD as an option though.

/O/ld niggas, I repaired all 3 O2 (Two upstream, one downstream) sensors, but I'm still getting a P0420 code, and there's nothing wrong with the catalytic converter, what could be causing this code? Should I ignore it?

Everything seems to be running smoothly according to my friend who has a ODB2 scanner though...think it has to do with the purge valve? It was replaced recently, then that code actually re-emerged about a week later.

Why the fuck are cars so fragile, so expensive to repair bodywork?
They're basically giant $40,000+ soda cans that must float through the universe not touching anything. Even some fucking lowly bushes will scratch it, my fingernail will scratch the doorhandle area, rings, whatever.
If you happen to touch another object, not even because you're a bad driver, but if someone else scrapes your car at a lowly speed of 5 mph, the bodywork will easily >$1,000 (for an entry level luxury car--which is actually super common/attainable like Gucci purses every ghetto queen owns).
What the fuck? Why aren't cars made of special rubber/polymer? They can satisfy all the safety pedestrian-cushioning laws that way too.
I'm fucking full out autism raging and OCD raging because I take extreme narcissistic pride in maintaining my shit perfectly and it's basically impossible to do that in a car without having a goddamn anxiety attack anytime another driver gets within 2 feet of you. Anytime you park your car someone can ding it, scratch it, etc.
Cars can never be perfect, or back to perfect! Bought a fucking $60K new car from the dealership and it came with minor scratches, the dealer took me to their prep area and had some guy buff it but it still didn't come out.
WHY THE FUCK ARE CARS SO STUPID/IMPRACTICAL?!?!?!?!?

First cruise of the month. Who else in OC is down?

Okay, I pretty much fucked up, 3 weeks ago got one of my ''dreamcars'' E260 2.6l gasoline manual trans beast, few days ago motor blew from burnouts for distance. Its hard to find new engine for mercedes which is 2.6l or higher in Estonia.
Now I'm considering that rebuild, because a few years ago me and my friend rebuilt one golf Mk2, and now I found this Jetta Mk2 for sale for shit cheap, thinking about buying that and shoving my merc to the backyard to wait better days.
So what do you guys think ?
New engine in that merc, or start from scratch with jetta ?
Also can post pictures from golf and Jetta if you want.
And sorry for bad english.
