I don't know if I should be driving anymore, I can't deal with other drivers where I live. I know everyone says blah blah blah, I'm the best driver and everyone else is shitty, blah blah.
I generally get pissed off, but when people go out of their way just to waste your time. ma that shit really gets to me, I think I'm really going to kill someone over it, which is stupid. I know my logic is sound and that they are the ones fucking up and making driving more difficult, and I know it's irrational to get mad over it, but I do.
I just don't know anymore.
>>15984569
This literally means youre a bad driver.
burn your licence and take anger management courses.
>>15984569
>people go out of their way just to waste your time.
examples
>>15984569
Just let it go.
You're choosing to get angry, you're choosing to engage.
Takes more effort to get angry and carry on than it does to let it go, so why waste it on something that you'll forget about in five minutes and literally doesn't matter.
Also this >>15984633, a good driver is calm and relaxed at all times and isn't controlled by their emotions.
is that a printed version of the onion?

Goddamn anon, hats off to you

Honestly what is /o/s opinion on diesels. I aspire to be a diesel mechanic but I see so much hate for them. Why?
>totally hektik engine sound
>burnouts on command
>mass amounts of torque
>can pull a tree down on sight
>fuck def fluid
>fuck duallies
>can tow fat bitches in the blink of an eye
>black smoke on command
I mean don't get me wrong fast cars are fun but a diesel truck is way better in my opinion.
Pic semi related it's my shitbox that is gonna have a 4bt Cummins in it.
>>15984499
If you actually successfully swap it I'll eat my hat.
>>15984499
>that is gonna have a 4bt Cummins in it.
No it's not.
>>15984992
Second.
Besides, 4bt's are not all everyone amps them up to be.
This thread is /o/'s OFFICIAL Overrated Car thread. Post overrated cars to add them to the list. THREAD NOTE : Just because a car is added to the list DOES NOT necessarily mean it's a bad car - just that it's overrated.
I'll start the list with some popular ones.
>Nissan GTR
>BRZ/FRS/GT86
>Toyota Supra
>Mazda Miata/MX5
>Tesla (pretty much every Tesla)
>Nissan Skyline
>Honda Civic
>Dodge Challenger
>Toyota Prius
>Hummer (pretty much every Hummer)
>>15984328
>Honda Civic
Needs to be removed from that list
>>15984333
Anon, they're the go-to ricemobile.
>V-TEC KICKED IN YO
>I'm gonna put this wing on my Civic it's gonna be SICK! W-what? What do you mean it's FWD? What do you mean that a rear wing on a FWD car is useless?
>Tesla
>Miata/MX5
>Skyline
Thank you. I would've added them myself.
So how many of you guys are actual mechanical engineers? I assume it would really help in tuning of a car the most optimal way and noticing things most people don't, I have yet to choose my career I wanna hear your experiences and also, general job thread
I know a lot of mechanical engineers, they know absolutely nothing about cars, I would be surprised if they could change their own oil. Half of them don't even own a car and ride a bicycle to work.
>>15984331
Kek
>>15984340
That's not a joke, that's just the way it is. Hardly any engineers at car companies have anything to do with figuring out how anything actually works, they are just on a subteam of a subteam that's working on a dome light or some other small detail. There's maybe 3 people that actually have any idea how the car is actually going to work and they sure as fuck aren't mechanical engineers.
Long story short, diesel was put into my gas car. I siphoned out the diesel and put in normal gas in hopes it would dilute the diesel but of course it was driven quite a bit before anyone realized their was diesel gas in it. I'm 100% certain it's in the fuel line and injectors. Not a big car guy, just looking for some help, I don't even know where to find the fuel line.
I've seen youtube videos of people disconnecting some line and turning their keys and it spews out liquid.
>>15984296
Disconnect the fuel line from the injectors and let it flow with the pump turned on.
How do people even do that? A diesel pump has a big spiral of metal around it that keeps it from fitting into a gas tank.
>>15984390
This particular pump made no distinction between diesel and gas. Not even the green color pump.
>>15984373
How do I do that?
Hey /o/
I am thinking about buying a used GT-R and I want to know about the annual expenses from current or previous GT-R owners. What are some things I need to know about owning a GT-R?
R32 or earlier only unless you're rich and live near a track.
Turbos break at around 150k
Timing slips at 45k
AWD fucks up at 175k
You'll wreck it before you hit any of these markers.
Buying Trojans every day to fuck gm fanboy gfs gets expensive
Plus all the commercial cleaning of pussy juice out of the passenger seat
>>15984276
More than you can afford pal
Anyone ever try any of the led light bars from Amazon? They are almost concerningly cheap in comparison to name brands, but it's also well known name brand auto parts dealers tack on 1000% to the price for parts that are the latest fad.
Any experience?
>>15984206
They are some of the simplest pieces of equipment. Amazon price is spot on for what you should pay. Did a quick look for name brands, some are asking 800-1000 for the bigger ones which is hilariously absurd. You could buy 10 Amazon ones for that price, if quality was an issue one of them would work at least
>>15984206
They work amazingly well.
There's nothing special about name brands.
Difference is paying Chinese children 15¢ a day and having one guy work the eBay store vs having some schmuck in the U.S. getting rich and buying a Ferrari because he has a full page color add in some 4x4 magazine.
The Chinese ones are hit and miss, sometimes drawing 3x more power than they are suppose to and having a loud hum.
The best ones I've had a good turnout on are the CREE ones.
I want a classic American muscle car with a bench seat in the front. What year and models should I be looking for?
Something made between 1890 and 2017, probably from an American manufacturer. I'd recommend looking for muscle cars with bench seats in the front. Should narrow down your search quite a bit right there.
>>15984100
Thanks brain
Very few didn't have bench seats available, only one I can think of off the top of my head is the 1st gen Charger/Marlin which also had buckets in the back
So, if these had any promise of actual feasibility, what technology would we see come out of them?
The ability to sense another vehicle miles down a road? Change posted speed limits on the fly based on conditions?
What would be more impressive than just having LED markings?
You could even hack the road and make a right turn look like a left turn. Goodbye family of five.
you sound like a retard
smart roads ≠solar roads
Also, roads don't change all of a sudden. There is no reason why turn markers would need to be dynamic.
>>15984043
"what technology would we see come out of them?"
You didn't read too far. But what improvements to having such roads could actually prove useful? Where is the boundary between the sci-fi and the future?
The last bit was a joke. Thought it would be pretty obvious to most people.
This is the dumbest shit ever. It's already expensive to repair a road. This would just increase costs.
well shit
can we please remove the licenses of all people that use their fucking phone while driving?
I would seriously argue in favor of a permanent license ban on anyone who drives drunk or distracted. The punishments seem so mild here it's a joke.
>>15983698
The amount of dumbfuck drivers that are revealed to be using their phone when you pull up alongside them is astounding.
>>15983698
nothing wrong with drunk driving pussy
Sooo i bought a '06 RR SC.. It has been a month or two of owning it.. Drives great, just an all around beautiful SUV (imo).. Now i have bad O2 sensors, and the third brake light go out ( poorly made i think) all that aside i was wondering if it is more of a hasltle to own.... whats your thoughts
>pic related my RR SC
i dont see the appeal of a suv like that.
pointless and ugly.
id rather have a fast wagon, at least it looks cool
>He bought a used range rover
>>15983664
whats the problem? I at least figured why not ride in luxury for once
Your taste in cars as a kid, grown up before /o/, and grown up after /o/.
Me;
Kid - Riced out Hummers and trucks
Grown up before /o/ - Modern Ford Mustangs
Grown up after /o/ - classic and turd gen muscle cars, specifically F-bodies
kid- American muscle cars
grown up before /o/- Japanese cars, especially JDM
grown up after /o/- 4x4 trucks
still have a JDM car and a lhd Japanese car but now im mostly into trucks. maybe its because im older now but especially in winter its nice to have a 4x4 pickup you can drive over anything with and not worry about scraping and shit
Kid- Italian super cars
Grown up before- muscle and minimalistic cars (think Ariel atom)
Grown up after- still minimalistic stuff
No matter how impractical they're still cool to me, and I'll get some sort of one someday
Let's just do fav car
Kid- New Grand Am (mid 90's)
Before /o/- Corvette Stingray
After /o/- 240z
just got done getting flamed in another thread because I had the gall to admit I actually put a short ram intake in my car. now thats not really interesting nor is it interesting to get angry faggots hating me for using money on car parts which might or might not give the gains it promises.
what is interesting and strange is how, for reasons we're unable to explain, the petrol consumption in my BRZ has gone from a solid average of 8.7l/100km, to 10.3l/100km, just after the Injen SRI intake was put on.
no one seems to know whats going on. more throttle happy owner? ECU and injectors compensating and throwing more gas into the mix? electrical bug?
no one knows and its a mystery. does anyone here have any reasonable theory?
tl;dr i dont fucking know
and if anyone remembers what video this screenshot is from, pls link.
Put the stock intake back on to see if something else changed. Did you ever fuel up with lower octane gas?
>>15983524
been using 98 octane consistently. I think you americans call it 93RON? there is some strange mixup, but I've never filled anything but 98 octane for as long as I've owned it.
I'd have tried putting the OEM box back on, but I cannibalized it for some rubber buffers I wanted to install the new box with, and broke off the mounting points in the process.
>>15983517
Your ecu probably cant learn the extra airflow without a tune and its gonna push in extra fuel because your maf is detecting extra airflow
>ywn be a cop driving an unmarked police car and pull over annoying drivers at your discretion for minor offenses
why even live
>>15983053
The grill is the first thing i look at to tell the trim level because the challenger is so fucking bland. What an obvious cop car
>>15983053
If you have a radar detector it can help. A lot of undercover cops seem to leave them constant on.
Can I be an unpaid cop that works my own hours? I just want to ticket cunts texting on my normal commute.
