Is the Model 3 a giant meme or is it a really great car? It sounds pretty great... I don't know what to believe anymore.
Should be a great car when released.
The major problem for Tesla,is the price. They'll hit their federal tax credit production limit quickly. Then the car's after tax price goes up another 7500.
Interior is literally dashboard and ipad.
I want the 80s depiction of the future.
Glowing buttons that do shit

I like the minimalism.

What do you mean? Unless I am mistaken, it's $35,000 BEFORE a $7500 tax credit.
What do you wear when working on your car?
I wear thick carpenters jeans, Docs, a regular cotton v neck, and dress shirt.
Spend less than $30 on this attire. Bought the dress shirt at Ross on clearance for $8. T shirt was $3, and the jeans were $14.
In the winter I wear a surplus commando wool sweater to stay warm.
Been looking to buying a mechanic suit. Been eyeing this one here

What do you wear?
>>15985458
nothing i work on my car naked
it gives me power
Plain white T, blue jeans, boots and a baseball cap to keep the hair out of my eyes
>>15985458
My Snapon shirt and basketball shorts with a bucket hat and NUBALANCE
What could be causing this tire wear?
This is my driver side tire. I had it aligned 7k miles ago and 2k miles after a curb mount. I never payed attention to tire wear before so I don't know if it was there before.
Passenger side
These tires have about 18k of miles on them. 10k of those were with bad outer tie rid boots.
Make sure air is right, but it could be camber.
Also, both tires are roughly 3/32 tread left
So i am currently living in a 1949 Brill Bus on a 20 acre parcel out in the forest. And i JUST removed the old door panel from the old conversion they did in the 70s to find THIS.
It is a delicious sticker thing from its original use as a charter bus in the 50s. I really want to salvage it as much as possible as well as the original blue paint anx display them. But i need something to remove this ancient mystery blacj adhesive without damaging the paint or the sticker.
>>15985326
You live in a bus, bruh?
My main vomplaint other than this lovely black adhesive is that it is small, i wish it were the whole door.
Here is the bus before i litterally dragged it from its resting place

Yes, in the woods with our own well and solar power. Off grid at its best, i just wish we grew a bunch of weed, it goes quickly out here.

I get they look like they have been well taken care of and have low miles, but jesus christ. Are these cars actually desirable for collectors or something?
they are meme shitboxes

had no idea these cars had the same engine in my Toyota truck. I guess I'm closer to Takumi status than I thought.
The "new" BMW 5 series.
>>15985080
Yeah a bit disappointing. The design difference from a 7 year older model is minimal, a very evolutionary upgrade. It has that unique two part split side crease (with which they solved cars getting taller in the front). But everything else pretty much stayed the same.
>>15985080
I hope it will bring functional improvements though (reduced mass etc.).
Hey guise, we updated our car with a new bodykit and some cool new headlights. The rest is the same, but you buy our new cars purely for bragging rights and will trade it off in two years when another facelift comes anyway, so go on and buy it already, goy.
>every german upper middle class car
Is it true that Euoropeans can't afford cars and have to ride their bikes in the snow?
I told some Euro friends of mind that I own two cars and they were in awe. One of them said something like "You must be eating at five star restaurant every day!"
Now, they do a thumbs up and wink whenever they see me. Weird shit
There's a reason any knowledgeable person calls them europoors.
>>15985074
>You must be eating at five restaurants every day! There is no bicycle that can support this weight
>>15985074
are you sure they weren't being sarcastic? like they were faking being impressed by your two car ownership?
The Pontiac badge is absolute perfection.

not so fast
I have been looking into getting a 2008 CLS550 with the n/a 5.5l but havent found many with over 100k miles. Is this because they just arent driven often or they just dont last long? how long should these engines last?
i currently have a w211 and the trans is about to go at 110k.
>>15985034
DO NOT BUY ONE YOU DAFT CUNT!
Modern cars especially luxury brands like Mercedes are not built to last. If you buy one with over 100k miles or anywhere close you are going to be DEEP in the fucking hole when it falls apart on you. You can't afford the damn car so don't buy one with extremely high mileage.
I know you'll just ignore this post so please post a follow up when you inevitably make the stupid fucking decision to buy one and you get burned.
>>15985076
i am looking into buying it from a family member and they have all the service records from MB, i know they havent had any problems with it and they are giving me a good deal. i plan on doing all the work myself like i have been with the W211. i always see threads on here saying MB go for over a million miles if properly maintained and arent driven short distances.

What is /o/'s consensus on the e39 M5?
I have a chance to pick up one with 125k miles for 20k (near showroom condition)(Le Mans Blue) or a black one with with 110K miles for 16k. Both have new clutch, flywheel, and a bunch of other things.
I like the blue because it is an extremely rare color in the US but I don't think the price is justifiable.
>>15985005
20k is a bullshit price for that car with that many miles.

Would it be illegal to set up some sort of water spray system that I could use to spray tailgaters?
>>15984787
obviously.
why do you care?
Yes and no.
I disconnected and rerouted my rear wiper spray nozzle to spray directly backwards.
>someone should post the Chrysler minivan copypasta
>>15984787
If you're going highway speeds, you don't need to do that. Spraying your front windshield will still get the tailgater's windshield wet.
My rear shock bracket has corroded away, leaving the shock loose. The main bolt is still in tact, but the entire thing can wobble, causing a rattling sound. I plan on driving 5 hours tonight. Is it safe for now?
image is upside down, sorry
Short answer: no
Long answer: Fuck no, Dumbass
It hasn't been safe for a long time.
