There has literally never been a good car that you can take the roof off.
>918 is considerably shitter than LaFerrari and P1
>300ZX handles like a barge
>every corvette is shit hard top or not
>s2000 has no torque, no soul and looks shit
>mx5 is literally a hairdryer with some wheels on
>Merc SL's are ludicrously overpriced and insanely unreliable
>Audi TT is an understeer king and looks trash
>porsche boxter isn't as good as the cayman
>jag e-type hard top looks 1000x better than the roadster
>bmw z3/z4 isn't as good as a 3 series yet more expensive
I could go on and on literally forever, why is it so hard to make a decent car with a removable top?
It isn't. its just hard to make one you personally like.

>good car
Congrats you're a fucking retard.
I'm looking to buy my first car, and I've got my eye on a 2004 Mazda RX-8 FE
How expensive would it be to run, and does it have any serious issues that are likely to come up?
How much would I be expecting to pay for one with around 56,000 miles
get it they are getting rarer
here in ohio the frs is more common than ANY rotary
ive never seen a rotary in person that was modified engine wise
plus the chainsaw sound they make is so loud its great
>>16003576
Yeah repairs might be expensive as it's over 10 years old, it's not too bad assuming you're not the type to let another man caress her manifolds on your dime. But you're not like that, are you anon.
With that said, it's a good car but since she's your first, it's going to be expensive to insure so keep that in mind too.
Also you're going to wreck it because it's your first and it's fast.
tl;dr get a throw away car before you get you a favorite car, beaters are great because you can kick them if you're mad, or if they leave you stranded.
>>16003599
I got my 1st own car around 5 months ago.
My original plan was to get an beater just because i knew that my lead filled foot would do nothing good in powerful car.
Anyways i ended up buying and 220kw FWD sedan from 1998 for few K's (€) and i must say that i have never been more happy with my purchase.
It takes a while to get used on driving powerful car, but after that it has been nothing but reliable and joy to drive.
If you can affort to spend few thousands on some older luxury with few hundred horses do that before you buy light & powerful car. It gives you a lot of power and car, but it does not act like it wants to kill you when you push pedal to the metal.
Personally i feel like this car is good middle ground for going towards sport cars, i would say that getting sport tagged car as your first car would be irresponsible, but after driving this for few months it would be a nice upgrade.
Btw, i'm looking to buy RX8, but due to my army service i'm sadly unable to affort one as they start from 7k€ in here.
Who wants to race for pinks? It's about a quarter mile from here to that rail road crossing.
sure
>>16003553
You ain't ready for all this angry kid.
Not to be rude but i don't know if i want the pink slip to your FRS/BRZ.

Gentlemen, gaze your eyes upon what was supposed to be the Renault Laguna
In 1993 Ford thought we would be driving 2-stroke, 2,250 lb aluminum jellybeans by 2010
>>16003403
>what was supposed to be the Renault Laguna
no it wasn't. It was supposed to be renault Spider - produced in 1995-99.
Renault just likes to release concept cars and then name totally unrelated production cars the same. They've done it a lot of times.

What Can i get for about 7.5 max in a stick with the towing capacity for a camper?
gonna boondock for a while /o/. sometimes a man has to feel free.
/o/ pls
>>16003380
73-87 Chevy 3/4 ton or 1 ton.
And, at 7.5k max budget, you can get already done up/partially restored/really nice ones at that price.
>>16003380
Your pic would be a fine choice, especially with the 5.9, 8.0, or diesel. Can't go wrong as long as you stay away from the auto transmissions
What's with Asians and their mentality of having to buy a new car every 5 years?
They says they do that cos depreciation so they try and get rid of it while it's worth something.
but what the hell is the point of that when it means you will need to buy another new car? If you buy a new car isn't it better off to own it for as long as possible to get your monies worth then get another new one if you must have a new car
>>16003378
Clearly somebody who lives in a place that doesn't snow. Most cars driven year round that last 5 years without rust problems are few and far between.
>>16003378
In Japan you have to pay for some testing to make sure the car is still road worthy or some shit after it's a few years old and most people would rather get a new car than do that. It might just be ingrained in them at this point.
>>16003378
IF you're talking about asians in murrika and leafistan, then it's chinese who want to remind the world that they are rich enough to change car often. Notice how they don't upgrade to the new Kia.
If it's actual asians in their native countries, it's because Japan and South Korea both get a lot of regular controls and taxes on cars as soon as they reach a certain age. It's covered under the guise of "muh emissions muh safety" but realy it's a drive to consumerism which mainly benefits their national production. Doesn't happen as much in China since locally produced cars fall apart before that sort of thing would become a concern.
What are some the cheapest 2016 sports cars you can buy?
Are you retarded
Corvette
Price start at $50k
Kinda depends what you consider a sports car but Mx-5s start at $25K
I look like a dorky dweeb and have a pretty quiet, reserved personality
Will I look funny driving a v8?
>>16003268
Not if its that one
You'd look weird in a big ass camaro or mustang.
But the SS or like a G8? You'd look totally normal. Actually I doubt anyone would look twice.
Yes, join the smooth I6 master race.
I just bought an 88 camaro, and as I'm pulling down the road after I bought it, Ifucked up big time and pulled a fucking wire out somewhere under the steering column and the car wouldn't start again. I literally cannot find where the fucking it came from, but it looks like it goes back to the distributor, does any have any idea where I should be looking? There's 9 million wires and I'm fucking lost. I was thinking it may be a line for the starter, the engine cranks but doesn't start now. Halp me.
Did the car continue to run after you pulled it? If so I doubt it's the distributor, Its probably a line dealing with the ignition coil. Just figure out where it goes and plug it back in. I doubt there are any sensitive electronics that you can damage that easily, just plug that shit back in m8.
>>16003356
I forgot to mention, you'll probably have to pull the dash apart if you can't see where it goes. '88 I wouldn't worry about airbags, just take the dash apart, poke around for a connector with no wire going to it.
Going to need a pic of the wire and the area where it came from.
If it came out that easy I doubt it's original to the car and is likely part of an alarm that has a starter kill function.
Now that the dust has settled, did you like last gens type r?
Spaceship Civic best Civic. Americans can go fuck themselves with their bland sedan garbage. That bodystyle has been used for the Hybrids here and they look like a snoozefest.
>>16003197
it looks a bit too retarded for my taste. BUT at least it looks more unique and 'cool' than other shit on sale in the time period.
looks like a sperm without a tail
What's the best full sized 2 door 80s era SUV, /o/? I've been looking at Broncos, the K5 and the Ramcharger. Right now I have a chance to buy a Ramcharger for a measly $800. Runs, drives, all good. Only bad thing is its auto & 2wd.
Pic related. I feel like its too good a deal to pass up. But I'd like your input on the other two mentioned & if I should just wait.
Depending where you're at, that thing may be full of rust and rot. I'm biased, so I'm gonna suggest a K5/K10/K20, biggest reason is the sheer amount of aftermarket and factory repop parts available, not to mention they're interchangable with the 73-87 and some things up to 91 on suburban trucks/blazers/suburbans. Far cheaper, far more abundant, and downright sexy too.
/2 cents
>>16003147
In the south so rust/rot isn't really a thing. The guy assured me its clean (although I haven't seen it in person yet).
The K5 is indeed a sexy bitch. The problem I'm finding is that down here they're either rusted pieces of junk for cheap or been built up so much that they're crazy expensive. There's no in between.
Also the later model RC and K5 doesn't have a removable top like all the Broncos. Its not a huge deal, but a nice looking topless Bronco is sexy as fuck.
>>16003152
Oh gotcha, southern prices can be a bitch. No idea what your budget is, but possibly get something out of state? If you're in no rush, peruse local c10/squarebody/k groups, someone somewhere always has something for sale that's a hell of a deal.
