Does this car REALLY do anything impressive, besides being light?
For example, if you took some regular old shitbox, like a 2.5i impreza hatch, took 700lbs out to make it weigh the same as the Miata, would it REALLY blow the shitbox out on the track.
>>17849095
it has a better chassis and suspension probably
>>17849095
try driving one, it's p much a production gocart. we have this same fucking question every other day, keep it in the miata general.
>>17849095
It does the 'small British roadster' thing pretty gud, much better than the Brits ever could.
It's not meant to be impressive on paper because that's not the point.
I'm actually kinda impressed

I'm looking at buying an outdoor suv for 35k, it will last me a long time and I'm hoping this off road vehicle will last me forever. They say they can only go about 300k and than the engine/trans dies. The thing is I can afford to replace the engine/trans with something else but what about the vehicle itself. Am I acting ridiclous by thinking I will own this vehicle for the rest of my life?

Not if you intend to die in glorious vehicular combat.
Which make and model will this fit?
>>17848000
Miata. It's in the name.
What a great product name for a miata.
>drive zippy shitbox covered in dirt and a smashed in bumper
>no one dares tailgate me or try to cut me off
>buy a new, modern car of a semi-luxury brand
>tailgated at 20 over the speed limit, constantly cut off by pickup trucks, peter pleb tries to speed past me in his grindr app installed subaru when i'm going 90mph
God damn. I can't imagine the salt people with actual sports cars have to deal with
>>17847962
people who drive crappy shitboxes generally have barebones/no insurance
Rich people in semi-luxury cars on the other hand...
>>17847962
that's why you get a high trim car from a standard brand
an Accord EX-L is comfy and reasonably fun, but it's still a Honda, so nobody thinks anything of it
>>17847962
hey OP, post pic of your shitbox old ride, and post pic of the new modern luxury one you driving now.
Thoughts?

That's a lot of money for a crap car. You can get a 2002 Camry for cheaper.

As long as you are okay with a barebones no feature car that will last for basically ever that is a dank ass deal.
JUST NOTE you will still have to fork over like a grand in 30k miles.
You WILL have NO luxury features.
Outside of that this is fucking rare and dank.
Make sure the basics are up to speed, regular oil changes, brake rotors arent warped, engine isnt showing signs of leans at the head. etc
Can you tell an person's race by what car/model they drive?
>inb4 niggerlacs
Why hasn't NIO responded to this?
>put plow on YJ
>friends all shit on it
>snows
>pls help me shovel
>charge them
>*hand rubbing intensifies*
Or just get one of these for a couple hundred bucks and actually get the snow out of the way instead of pushing it all towards the end of your driveway
Wranglers are mediocre as fuck compared to the other compact SUVs they competed against. The only good thing I can truly say about them is the inclusion of the reliable, old AMC engines up until the mid-2000s.
Everything else about them is pretty garbage though. Just get a Tracker or something.
>live on flat land, no twisties anywhere
>snow and salt in the winter
>potholes and terrible patch jobs rest of the year
>too poor/have no room for a dedicated track/autox car, don't want to fuck up the DD
>insurance is hundreds of dollars a month due to shitty immigrant drivers and rampant insurance fraud
>tfw
Should I just sell the car and take the peasant wagon?
>>17847372
>don't want to fuck up te DD
then don't. Just add some tasteful mods and find the nearest track and go there once a month.
Join the military and establish yourself somewhere that isn't shit once your 4 years is up.
I've called a dozen engine specialty shops and even if they have the know-how they just apparently don't feel like doing the swap no matter how much monies i'm willing to put down. i don't have the tools or space at my apartment for this why even live
it's an 89 4runner btw. Runs as good as the 3.slow will let it but i'd like to scout out prices and shops for a swap in the future.
>they have the know-how they just don't feel like doing the swap
that means the don't know how to do it and they don't want to ruin 'their good name" in mechanic lingo
>>17849096
or OP is just too poorfag to pay an actual shop
Is this a reliable source for information about new and old cars?
How does /o/ feel about Super Street Magazine? What are the best car related magazines?
>that file name
I use Super Street, they seem to be pretty good
/ss/ thread?
