One of the brake lights on my car died and I was going to replace it but I came across these hand screws which are on tight as fuck
I cant take them off and I urgently need to replace my lights, how the fuck do I loosen them?
>>16099315
Get an adult to do it for you
>>16099326
me and my dad both cant seem to loosen them, part of the problem is the small opening only allows you to use your finger or wrist torque to twist it and not your whole arms torque
use a bit of bike chain
Anyone ever retread spark plugs? I know its not a big deal with kit, but just wondering if the doing the work my self is worth the 250$ I'd possibly save.
Spark plug socket is relatively reachable on the top of the engine.
$250 for a spark plug change?
Really depends what car you have. If it's a rwd. Really easy to do yourself, fwd v6 and v8 are the worst. What d you have?
>>16099183
04 ford mustang V8.
My 3rd cylinders' plug blew. My buddy managed somehow to screw it in and told me to change all 8. So I did all 7 but that third cylinder's replacement plug just wouldn't screw in, so I think I have to retread it.
I've seen tutorials of it online, it looks like a pain, and seems like I might fuck up the piston by mistake.
>>16099205
Might be easier to get a new head from pick and pull. I don't know how rethreading works. Common problem with modulars. Use a torque wrench and look up the specs for putting in the plugs next time.
Anybody have a clue of make and model? year?
>>16099089
That, is a 1970's Niggermobile.
Disgusting. Kit cars are universal barn garbage.
I'm guessing an 82 Olds Toronado.
>>16099096
Indeed it is
10.900€ 133k km, what do you think?
It's the best I can find for the price, maintenance seems affordable, looks cool, should drive good.
Btw its a year 2004.
What year should I aim for when buying a 350z?
This one is 2005, 10.000€ and 108k km... I dont like the color tho, and I miss the extras. It looks a bit lame in default setting, but small changes the car has the agressive touch it's lacking in my taste.

If its 03 or 04, make sure the gears dont grind, specifically 3rd or 5th. If its 06, make sure it doesnt burn oil. Pretty solid cars other then that. Window motors go out regularly though.
panic
>>16098950
crank bolt?
>>16098956
nah just a seat bolt, but i could feel its soul stretching as it came out
>>16098962
why the fuck does it have such a thick ass shit spacer?
Is spark plug indexing a meme? I kinda want to try it on my turd gen just for an excuse to work on it.
This makes a lot of sense, huh.
>>16098911
The only meme here are two valves per cylinder.
Is this necessary on 4 valve per cylinder engines?
Look at your car beneath the steering wheel. In some cars you might see that along with the break and gas pedals there is a third petal furthest from the central axis of the car. If this is the case your car has a serious design defect that you should address as soon as possible. This is done in several steps.
1: remove the third petal.
2: seal the hole in the cabin where it was.
3: Remove the defective transmission.
4: With the assistance of a sledge hammer, hydraulic press, recycling plant, dynamite or some combination there-of destroy the defective transmission so it can no longer adversely effect vehicles.
5: Install a proper functioning transmission such as the one described here.
Professional assistance may be required in all steps save four. In any case in doing so you are helping rid the world of a dangerous atavism, the product of automotive junk DNA which makes cars not work as good as they should.

If you need a new car get a Toyota Prius. It will satisfy your automotive needs well at a reasonable price while consuming less hydrocarbons than non hybrids.
>>16098767
My 1.0l N.A. econobox was cheaper and needs less fuel than a prius.
On my way to the university I am driving at a speed wich renders the electric part of the drivetrain useless anyway.
I'd rather watch my wife get fucked by another man in front of me.
No.
I might have the opportunity to buy a 2011 SE-R Spec V for $4000 as a daily driver. Anyone have any experience with them? Or issues with the 2007+ QR25DEs (Rogues/Altimas)? It has pretty low mileage (70k) and a small collision on record. Still has a clean title so I'm assuming it wasn't too bad of a hit.
They seem decent on paper and even pretty damn nice for a 2011 car at that price.
They're fun, pretty quick, roomy, and great daily drivers. I've been driving my 2010 spec v for about 6 years now and it's never given me any problems. 4k is a pretty damn good price for that car, man, go for it.
Engine chews precats through the engine. Also needs premium fuel.

Alright guys, I need a little guidance here.
tl;dr RPM dependent vibration under load, just started, what do.
I've got a 1992 Ford Explorer that has developed a vibration and I don't know what's causing it. It's a 4DR 4WD.
The vibration becomes noticeable around 1900-2000RPM and its frequency increases with the engine RPM (but NOT the speed of the vehicle). It gets worse to about 2500 and then starts to taper off by 3000 but only because it's fairly "fast" at that RPM. At its worst it makes the doors rattle a little bit (half the rubber door stops are shot though) and the change in my center console jingle a little.
It only happens when the motor is under load, and if I let off the gas or start down a hill it stops immediately, but comes back as soon as the motor is under load again (if I press the accelerator for instance).
The severity changes apparently from day to day, and because it only does it under load revving the engine to 2k rpm with the hood up via the throttle body doesn't help me at all. I can't say this for sure, but it seems like my gas mileage is suffering a little bit as well. I haven't run the numbers to check though so that might be bullshit.
Any ideas on what to check here? Ignition issue maybe? I'm at a loss but I want to deal with it before it becomes a larger problem.
>>16098719
Engine or trans could be fucked. Could be tcase or driveshaft or diff.
>>16098719
That sounds like more of a misfire than anything. But that depends on your definition of "vibration". Any chance we could get a vid? I've got a '94 Ex
>>16098719
Motor mounts son obviously I cant be sure but seems like a possible.
I have a Crown Vic and recently it started to make a weird buzzing noise from the passenger side whenever both the engine and headlights are on. I never heard the buzzing with just the headlights on,or with just the engine on. They both need to be on in order for me to hear it.
Any suggestions on what could be wrong??
Also, there is not flickering of the headlights it's just the noise that's driving me crazy.
Does it happen when stopped?
>>16098640
Yeah it's constant if both engine and headlights are one.
>>16098650
maybe the battery is over stressed?
I'm going to do a brand new 2017 mistake this week.

I think it's interesting how this almost 20 years old design still looks fresh today
Every car on their lineup is so BORING. Every time I look at them I get drowsy, what happened, Nissan used to be cool with their silvias, their zx's and z's and 240's and Datsun.
Now their entire lineup besides the GTR is just boring, bland or crossovers.
Step it up Nissan, the only thing saving your brand from becoming a meme is the GTR.
What is you most boring car brand?
>>16098570
Have you seen Mazda bud?
to be fair both are really boring.
GTR is fun though.
Obviously Toyota.
Underneath all those edgy lines and angry faces are hilariously disappointing vehicles.
>>16098587
At least they try on the design of their vehicles, and they had that Scion brand thing.
Nissan doesn't even try, every vehicle besides the GTR looks like a rental car.
