Hey /o/ my dad is giving me a gift of any car worth ca. $30k usd (for finishing my degree)
I live in norway, so cold climate
what should I get?
I was thinking about maybe a mustang or a bmw
>>16191865
>mustang
>for $30k
>in Norway
think again
>>16191873
dont be stuck at the 30k marker, its flexible maybe stretch to 40k
>>16191865
>norway
Get an SUV like an X5 or a Land cruiser, you're going to total it in a mountain snowstorm anyway
what car is this?? thanks
>>16191835
Old Datsun or Nissna?
>>16191835
my summer car
>>16191835
seems like a jeep stratus of some sort
VW made a crossover that looks like an SUV but is based on the Golf platform. VW just earned my trust back and this maybe the next car I may buy.
>>16191731
It may look less exciting than a CX9 which is planned to buy before but this seems a better option because this has a V6 coming in it and the Mazda is an 4cyl.
>>16191736
What do you guys think about this car?
Honest opinions pls.
Ask the guy that mapped the Cat C7.1 marine prop engine anything.
Cat have just made me redundant so idgaf
>>16191439
What's it rev to? Any C7.1 application that'd be suited to a light/medium full size 4x4? Previously thought about a C6.6, but the only example I can think of is in a wheel loader limited to ~2400rpm.
i worked on cat 3616's.
never had a real major issues, cept the solenoid for emergency shutdown activated and didn't stop all the air going in so it all burnt hot, almost lost the engine but managed to shut it down in time. kek they leaked alot of oil but the whole ship had been abused in brazil for most of its life.
>>16191450
2900, but the std industrial rated engine revs to 2400.
Its heavy as FUCK, so I doubt it'd be much use in a truck. But they did put the C7 in trucks right?
You couldn't really get away with using a marine engine in an automotive application because of the way the governor is calibrated (throttle commands engine speed, not torque).
i just want a god damn mercedes but no matter what i will buy it will turn into a moneypit REEE
Buy a 124. Problem solved.
Depends on where you get your parts and how good you are at wrenching
Also; dont buy one that has been owned by a complete retard
>>16191360
if you find a 124 with less than 300k on the clock it is usually priced way too high and named collectors special
Hey /o/
I can't tell if I have a flat or not.
Please give me your professional and personal opinions
>>16191327
How much air is in it?
>>16191332
It seems like it still has a decent amount of air but definitely less then my other tires
I don't have a gauge or anything to check it though
I went off-roading earlier today and I suspect if it is flat that would be the cause

you forgot the part where you say throw out those flimsy fucking scissor jacks and spend $150 on a proper floor jack

I want to have sex with my mom
Why are they a luxury option? They're a step down to cloth seats
Leather seats
>Easier to clean
>Not comfy at all
>Icy cold when its cold
>Oven hot when its hot
>Can't sleep on it because leather cold seats
>Not comfy at all
Cloth seats
>You stain it you're screwed
>Not oven hot when its hot
>Not icy cold when its cold
>Car can break down and you still have comfy seats to sleep in
>Very comfy
so you can't afford a car with good climate control, and you can't afford a car that you don't have to worry about breaking down. and if it does you can't afford to get a ride or hotel?
leather seats are superior in every way.
>2+2000+15-0.1
>not having alcantara + leather bucket seats
>>16190867
>easier to clean
yep
>not comfy at all
subjective
>icy cold when its cold
good thing I have heated seats
>oven hot when its hot
good thing I have air conditioned seats
>can't sleep on it because leather cold seats
....?
>not comfy at all
how high are you right now?

Question about storing my car for the winter:
I thinking I should put it up on jack stands, disconnect the battery, add fuel stabilizer and maybe a rodent deterant on the inside? Car will be stored on the ground floor of a concrete floored barn with older classic cars. Pic related: my car.
No need for any of that. Just take it for a drive every couple weeks between storms.
Nice car. I have something very similar.
>>16190795
I don't really have room to store it where I live. Also, the area I live in salts very heavily.
What do you have?
>>16190769
invest in a good car cover
Just bought my first vehicle.
>v6
>>16190735
how can you tell?
guess how much i bought it for
>>16190729
>he bought a v6 f-body
ROFLMAO @ your life
Whatsup guys what do you think about íntegras, particularly the 92 hatch with the 1.8 engine? I found one on Craigslist for 1800 with a 5 speed and 187k miles. My main goal is to get something cheap and Japanese with a manual to DD and learn stick in, have driven mostly American v8s and 4x4 before this
Pic related it's the car
>>16190552
Be prepared for problems associated with an old, high mileage car, so it won't be DD-tier reliable. That aside, when you're moving from a larger engine to a smaller one, especially when you're learning stick, the smaller engines are less forgiving and will stall easier. As far as cheap and jap, an Integra works.
>>16190978
I had heard that older íntegras were essentially rebadged Hondas, don't Hondas run pretty reliable for many miles?
>>16190989
its a honda, you redneck. Why do idiots like you have to seek validation from strangers to make a purchase? You like the car ??? Yes, fucking buy it.
What car would you try and fit it in?

Wow it sounds like complete shit
>firing order of a v6
What were they thinking?
"It runs like two sixes" he said.
>Have enough skills and knowledge to build a V12
>Fuck up firing order
Only halfway cool.
>ywn own an Evo 6.5 Tommi Makinen edition
I want a 5 or 6. Will be almost 30 by the time it's old enough to import.
>my most wanted Mustang has only 4 cylinders
Looks like sex though
