ITT: we post cars that are, sadly, just too big and fat to ever be a sports car
Any car with OP in it.
I get out of basic in 2 months, so I'll want to buy a car. This is what I'm currently considering and I have a feeling it'll be there when I get out.
1966 el camino
THE GOOD
>rebuilt 383 stroker (7k miles)
>700r4 Trans with unknown rear gears
>recent paint job
>new rims and tires
>sound system
>4 wheel power disk brakes
Started up instantly and sounded good, no leaks.
THE BAD
>2-3 paint chips with a little rust (only rust I saw)
>stain on seat
>cut up the dash to put in a shit touch screen
>paint wasn't perfect, had some scratches and all
>dent in tail gate
>fuel filter leaked on the engine, stopped when hand tightneed.

> Noy buying the superior ranchero
They want 13k for it and they seemed like they didn't want to go down on the price (supposedly it started at 20k), but that was in August. If it's still there in February, that'll be at least 6 months. What would /o/ pay?
Yes, I'd be financing some of it. Ill have 5-7k to put down on it, and my FCU will do a 36 month loan (6k will be about 150 a month) or I can finance through the dealer for a longer time at a higher interest, and pay it off early when I have the extra cash.
I plan on it being my dialy, so any idea on mpg or what rear gear would be best for mpg?
>inb4 keks get a 3k civic meme
I can wrench
I'll be living on a base, so at worst, I won't be missing my job.
I'm young with few bills, so financing is ok. I'd like to keep the monthly payments as low as possible though.
Only looking into buying a new vehicle cause my 04 silverado may or may not be on its last leg. Tranny is fuck you at times, it's been wrecked (tboned, so now cab is misaligned), it gets 13mpg and is slow as shit. The only upside to it is its the devil I know.
If the El camino is gone and I can't find a similar vehicle, I may just fix the truck (which I really don't want to) and just by a motorcycle.
Show me a better performance car for £3.5k

No, but they make you look like a proper autist.
I don't think so, as long as they look nice.
Those look really good compliments the paint really well.

Enough effort was put into drawing this.

Cute drawing OP, but it's not really going to rile anybody up.
>rear-ended a Scion FRS
>quick summary of events: roads were wet
>following her at a car-and-half length distance or more
>she made a somewhat abrupt stop, I braked but the tires locked up and I basically slid into her at ~ 5 MPH
>would not have hit her if not for wet roads, but I still could've avoided situation by being a better driver
>no dents, at worst a scratch mark on her bumper
>get a call from her insurance, I'm further retarded and gave them a recorded statement
>find out they're claiming injury (which they definitely had not been)
>based on my statement, the agent said they would deny her injury claim
>still haven't heard from my insurance
Is there any chance this will all go away?

Heh, no matter how few we are, we have to show the people how cool this car can be.
It feels funny, because years ago back when I was a non-carlover normie I would believe all the bad stereotypes about the Trabbi and now I am madly in love with it.

I bought a 98 with 56k last year for $500..had a rusted out brake line..since then the only work ive done is front brakes and oil/trans/coolant changes. 70k now and i would drive it across the country. Rides nice and smooth. Quiet as fuck. Sure its not a fucking race car but as an a to b work car its perfect for me.
Alright, who knows more about cars, advice, troubleshooting, and maintenance than /o/, right?
This will be my first car at 20y/o. $800
Ok, This is a 1991 e30 325i that has been sitting for 4 years. It has 69k mi. the interior is flooded because back flap broke, hence the blue tarp. The tires have morphed into the ground.
Owner does not give a damn about the car, he is offering $800- how can i bargain a lower price.
What can i expect from these particular model(s) as far as reliability, electrical and engine maintenance?
Also first car thread.
Thoughts on this car?

lmao
I'm sure it'll probably be fast, but I still won't care.
Should have been AWD or rwd
