Bought a 30 year old Toyota Corolla with 200hp less then my 240 because anime & memes told me it would skid better. But all I learned was that S-Chassis basically slide themselves & AE86's truly fulfill their purpose as a great commuter car/beater.

I mean yeah the 240 feels like it was pretty much made for drifting, but I loved my 86 way more when I did spirited touge runs. Try something other than drifting on a track and you'll see how great the car really is. Or you can just quit wasting your time and buy a miata

I bought it for only $1200 to replace my daily, and drove it home from 2 states away.
Didn't get it to be a skid car, but did a few slides after I got home on dry pavment. Had to keep it pinned up near redline to stay sideways compared to my 240 that I can just casually have in the midrange & tap the throttle for more & more angle.

holy fuck, im pretty sad, i drive a bmw m5 and to be honest it's a very fast car, blows most cars out of the water when im driving around my town but today i saw an audi r8, looked brand new and fuck i felt kinda small driving next to it. does any one else here get sad when they see a faster car than theirs on the road? this thing looked like a fucking space ship and i couldn't catch it.

Didn't see a QTDDTOT thread so I started one.
It's gonna start snowing here soon. I've owned my miat for three months. I want to do parking lot donuts when it snows. I want to not wreck my car. Other than objects to crash into, what should I look out for?
Also I really want a front lip/splitter for my miat. I can get them for about a 100 eurobucks but I'd really like to buy something cheap from a wrecker that I can hack up and make fit that way. Have any of you done that? Any tips or tricks?

OP here. Literally never wrenched on anything mechanical. I just changed my sparkplugs, wires and valve cover gasket.
Watch a bunch of youtube videos on how to do it yourself. I promise you, it's not hard. You just have to have the balls to actually do it.
Invest in some tools to get it all done. All in all it cost me about 130 eurobucks for the whole thing, including tools. It's not expensive, and not that hard. Plus, if you fuck it up anyway at least you'll have tried. It's broken anyway so it doesn't matter much.

It's a 4wd not AWD.
Always drive on road in 2wd - only use 4wd for dirt/gravel/snow. If you do drive it on road long enough the lack of slip will lock up your diffs and either fuck them up or force you to unwind them slowly.
You can shift from 2wd to 4wd with the engine on or off as far as I am aware.

The manual says to keep it on 2wd and 4hi for rain and snow, essentially. Unless I'm missing something here? Also I find it kinda off putting I have to stop completely to put it in 4lo, what do of I run into a steep hill and it's too late to stop altogether?
