Bought a 30 year old Toyota Corolla with 200hp less then my 240 because anime & memes told me it would skid better. But all I learned was that S-Chassis basically slide themselves & AE86's truly fulfill their purpose as a great commuter car/beater.
>>16352820
I mean yeah the 240 feels like it was pretty much made for drifting, but I loved my 86 way more when I did spirited touge runs. Try something other than drifting on a track and you'll see how great the car really is. Or you can just quit wasting your time and buy a miata
>>16352869
I bought it for only $1200 to replace my daily, and drove it home from 2 states away.
Didn't get it to be a skid car, but did a few slides after I got home on dry pavment. Had to keep it pinned up near redline to stay sideways compared to my 240 that I can just casually have in the midrange & tap the throttle for more & more angle.
Good job I would fucc you in rl
Is a V6 Camry really as fast as it is meme'd to be?
They've always been fast
Even in the 1990s look at the 1/4 mile of a V6 Camry to any of the popular 4/6 cylinder sport compacts of the time (Integra GSR, Prelude, Miata, GTI VR6, Probe GT, Impreza 2.5RS, 240SX)
All slower than a V6 Camry.
>>16352721
It's not fast, it's quick thanks to a 6 speed tranny with short gearing. At 3200lbs and 180hp it's pretty far from a meme.
What is faster, a V6
>Accord
>Camry
>Maxima
?
holy fuck, im pretty sad, i drive a bmw m5 and to be honest it's a very fast car, blows most cars out of the water when im driving around my town but today i saw an audi r8, looked brand new and fuck i felt kinda small driving next to it. does any one else here get sad when they see a faster car than theirs on the road? this thing looked like a fucking space ship and i couldn't catch it.
>>16351438
At least your car isn't a VW parts bin special.
consumerism is one hell of a drug
>>16351438
I drive a '90 base miata, it's about as shitbox as you can get. My friend has a very nice m edition '91 miata in the same color as mine. I wish that my miata looked evem half as good as his.
No citizen needs a vehicle this size. We need to enact common sense truck control. These are simply a danger to the population. Vehicles this size are only for killing
if only the good guys had guns to shoot the speeding 40 ton truck before it reached them
>>16348849
This. we need to have more guns to stop these mad Truck drivers from killing us all
>>16348817
Motor vehicles in the United States are not exclusively about need, for we can have our wants too with zero issue. Over regulation destroys creativity, art, and personal freedom.
Stop driving imports
but american cars are shiiiiiiiiit
This is the only domestic car from my country, fuck off technoshitskin
Didn't see a QTDDTOT thread so I started one.
It's gonna start snowing here soon. I've owned my miat for three months. I want to do parking lot donuts when it snows. I want to not wreck my car. Other than objects to crash into, what should I look out for?
Also I really want a front lip/splitter for my miat. I can get them for about a 100 eurobucks but I'd really like to buy something cheap from a wrecker that I can hack up and make fit that way. Have any of you done that? Any tips or tricks?
>I've owned my car for about three months and I love it. Lots to learn but so far its so fun to own and maintain.
>spent 1500 to fix a bunch of emissions stuff in my car
>cel went off, but came back on flashing
>now I'm being told 436 for new spark plugs, wires, and labor
My car has no inspection sticker on it. I feel like I'm getting royally ripped off. What do I do?
>>16329850
OP here. Literally never wrenched on anything mechanical. I just changed my sparkplugs, wires and valve cover gasket.
Watch a bunch of youtube videos on how to do it yourself. I promise you, it's not hard. You just have to have the balls to actually do it.
Invest in some tools to get it all done. All in all it cost me about 130 eurobucks for the whole thing, including tools. It's not expensive, and not that hard. Plus, if you fuck it up anyway at least you'll have tried. It's broken anyway so it doesn't matter much.

I see a 2009 BMW 335i with 58k miles on it listed for $18000 but the blue book value is 15.5. How could I most effectively convince the seller that the car isn't worth the 18k?
I brought this today any advice? 2000
Also general awd question. If I drive in h2 or h4, do I have to shift it back to neutral when I'm done and before shutting off the engine? Or does it not matter
>>16358352
It's a 4wd not AWD.
Always drive on road in 2wd - only use 4wd for dirt/gravel/snow. If you do drive it on road long enough the lack of slip will lock up your diffs and either fuck them up or force you to unwind them slowly.
You can shift from 2wd to 4wd with the engine on or off as far as I am aware.
>>16358352
drive in low range 4WD all the time with the diff locks in trust me its better and saves on fuel and wear on the drive train
>>16358362
When I drove it home today the indicator light didn't tell me it was on 2wd, does that mean it's in neutral and therefore off? I'm kind of confused on that part. If the light isn't on at all then what drive is it?
>>16358371
The manual says to keep it on 2wd and 4hi for rain and snow, essentially. Unless I'm missing something here? Also I find it kinda off putting I have to stop completely to put it in 4lo, what do of I run into a steep hill and it's too late to stop altogether?
Just bought this 02 Golf!
133k, clean as a whistle aside from basic interior door handle shenanigans. No accidents, title clean, etc etc.
Tell me what to expect or share some insights, /o/! Love these cars and this is our first VW.
It's shit and you're dumb
All I got from being at the seller's today, too much driving and investigation to get too many images
>>16358174
Weeeelll....I figured as much on my own.
For what it is, it's a good buy. It's hard to find good examples of these without too many miles or shit maintenance.
A bit older than we would have liked but had to budget correctly for our situation.
looking to buy some Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec Tires, but it seems only tirerack has them...trying to see if i can get a better price. any suggestions?
Find a local place that sells the same tires, show them you can buy them online for that cheap, see if they'll match or throw something in.

toyo
are you this retarded?
>>16358260
>AVON
wtf?
>car had an oil leak
>take it to mechanic to fix it
>he fixes it but puts like 1 qt extra oil in it
How can i remove the excess oil without having to lift up the fucking thing and removing the drain plug and making a mess of oil everywhere?
>>16357650
remove drain plug almost all the way. Hold it in the hole while it runs out.
>>16357657
this, just know you WILL get messy
Turkey baster through the inlet hole.
yfw retard trump acts before he thinks (pretty common)
yfw he creates the 50 year rule for all non american cars
i could totally see him trying to ban all asian and german cars from the USA
then when he gets hit with backlash he would tax import owners heavyer just out of spite
tfw someone says the wrong thing and he does a sweeping ban of all non self driving cars
tfw he changes the routine for cops and now they start jailing people who go 25 over the limit
tfw he doesnt see why anyone would need to own an assault vehicle and bans those too
tfw he halts the production of hybrid and EV cars and we all run out of gas and have to walk everywhere
You should be president, you are clearly extremely smart and have it all figured out, thanks for sharing
>>16357462
you're fucking stupid. this is an 18+ board.
>>16357462
you dont really understand how the government works do you?
Is this car good?

Way too expensive for a automatic supra

This one is manual.
Owner writes: "Newer engine, clutch, & brakes. Runs very well and maintained. "
What is wrong with it?
>>16357374
Newer engine and clutch would hint that it's been trashed and driven terribly by a previous owner.
just finished watching Drive. What a great fucking movie. Def. my new favourite.
Exactly what i like. 80's, cars, and badass. What are your favourite Car movies?
