They don't really have anything to compete with other manufacturers

They don't have a real civic si competitor, they don't have an AWD sedan like subaru

They have 3 fucking mid size sedans like wtf who wants 3 of the same fucking cars with slightly different looks about the body
>>
>>16378696
The sink acr is in a other league than most sports cars. It will run laps around the GTR while having an engine that doesn't sound like a soccer mom's grocery machine. Fucking shame people who could afford it didn't want a manual sports car that takes some skill to drive fast, they'd prefer something to stoplight race and put pictures of on instagram

Just get a Camaro SS 1LE. Keeps up with the M4 GTS for 1/3rd of the price.

How much weight do you put into utqg ratings? I'm looking into buying new tires for my car, and if I want tires with A in traction, temp it'll cost 140-170 a piece. What say /o/?

Lmao dude. Just lmao. No one even knows what teh fuck you're talking about but from what it sounds like, it's complete fucking bullshit. Probably some user submitted nonsense which is all subjective.

Just go with a popular brand name tire and get a model designed for the application you need and you'll be completely fine. Don't make this complicated
>>
>>16376130
Actually it's in my owners manual and it says the higher the grade the better perfermance but okay

Also forgot to ask in op but how do I know which tire will provide the quieter ride?

Id ask /g/ but you guys obviously go out more.

Im looking for an inexpensive radar detector and found this one
>https://www.amazon.com/Cobra-SPX-6600-15-Band-Radar-Detector/dp/B01DPYOSHS/

Looks like bullshit to me though. Those reviews just seem odd.

What are you guys using?

it's called situational awareness. If you have it, you won't need a shitty radar detector.

Christmas Eve I spent the day test driving cars. One that I really liked was a 2006 Cadillac CTS V. 1 owner, 41k miles. The price is $19k and it's been for sale for months at a Cadillac dealership. The battery needed a jump when I got there, the check engine light was on and the passenger heated seat wouldn't turn on. Drove completely fine to me.

Hindsight 20/20 I regret not negotiating right then and there. They said they'll look at the engine light and seat Tuesday then call me. I was told not to go higher than mid teens on price. How do I get it down to that?

I'm gonna give you some solid advice rn:

Never buy a used Cadillac.

Regarding this current vehicle: run for the hills and never look back
>>
Car is awesome when it works right but that one doesn't. Check engine light will be off Tuesday, back on by Friday guaranteed.
>>
>>16375856
DON'T DO IT. They're just going to clear the codes and try to push it on you. It's a shitbox.

>can a fox body be a track car
Why did this even need to be an article. Foxes have been tracked for a long time. Why didn't he just write an article, "I wanted to build and drive fox body track cars"
>>
>>16379363
He did buy a copy car from 20+ years ago so it was beat to shit before he even bought it. I owned a fox body tbird and I can't pinpoint where he went very wrong other that that.

I was there when he crashed, he got hit by a Z06 when he was testing the turning radius.

That's why I separated factory installed features and accessories (aftermarket) into two separate sections of the OP.

Ok /o/tists I'm giving some serious thought to my next toy being a right hand drive true import. Something like this:
http://www.japan-partner.com/Auto/26394/Nissan/SKYLINE/car-for-sale.html
Do any of you have any experience with importing to the US? Any pitfalls or legal issues to look out for? I'm in GA in a non emissions check county. Thanks in advance!

I've been daily driving RHD imports in the US for the past 5 years. Imported one through a friend as well. As far as legal issues go you're gunna need to get in contact with a registered importer who has connections to auctions in Japan. Auctions are the best place to find a car for export. In order for a car to leave Japan it has to go through a series of inspections and have a decent bit of paper work done. It's not that difficult to do yourself if you are over there and have access to someone who can translate.

My advice? Go talk to someone like Japanese classics or Fed-legal imports and see how they can help out. For someone who has zero experience importing a car from Japan I highly recommend getting in contact with an experienced importer.

If you want I can put you in contact with my buddy in PA who actually has a few inexpensive RHD imports on his lot right now. He can also help you pick out and import a car that you select if you are serious about it.

I really appreciate the advice! I'm about 6 months away from my savings goal so no immediate need. I just figured there would be a ton of red tape and this would definitely be the place to ask. How wonky was it getting used to the right hand drive?

Getting used to RHD is easy. Takes about 5-10 mins to start to feel comfortable. Only trouble comes from toll booths and drive thrus lol

It's fun to watch people stare in traffic. Every day I drive my car I get people asking about it.

Would they be a mistake? Since the only buyer of the XTS are livery fleets I assume these would be well maintained since they have been out of commission?

what the fuck they're that cheap already?

xts is sort of the last old-man-car cadillac builds, pretty comfy, but newer cadillac reliability is more in line with german cars so be mindful
