/o/ I want to get a 2017 WRX hatchback, but I don't know if I would ever be able to deal with how ugly it is.
Is it just me? Maybe it's not ugly? does it look better in person?

of course it's ugly, it's an acquired taste of ricers. Being a hatchback makes it double ugly.

only reason I even tolerate it is because it was Bunta's ride.
>>
Yeah Saab 9-2x Aero had superior aesthetics.

No. It won't grow on you. It suffers from shitty modern car design.

Noriyaro for Japanese car culture. Alexi is fucking based.

I got a brand new 2017 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab SR5, upgrading from a 1994 Toyota 2WD Pickup... my new 2017 Tacoma is 2WD too because I never thought I'd need or want 4WD.

But now I do want 4WD for reasons. I've only had this truck for a week...

I'm kicking myself daily for settling for less but in 8-10 months I should be able to trade in my 2WD Tacoma for a 4WD without being upside-down on the loan, even after depreciation. I'm planning on trying to snag a 4WD 2017 Tacoma towards the end of this year when dealers are trying to liquidate them.

On a scale of 1 to Stupid how dumb am I? Has anyone ever gone through this?

Help me /o/ , should a poor college student still living at home put more money into my 1986 Volvo 240 DL station wagon or is it time to sell it and buy a newer car?

I bought it for $1200 and have pretty much spent more than it cost to buy just into general maintenance and fixing borked shit.

It still drives fine, though I think the back suspension may be a bit fucked as every time I go over speed bumps it feels and sounds as if my car has no shock absorption in the back.

Looking to get a z125 or grom for commuting to work (it's 25 miles away). Can these go on the highway? Or will I be stuck on the access road (Google Maps tells me it will be an additional 30 minutes to get to work if I don't take the highway). What's the next step up for a bike that will go on the highway? I'm 5'4, so I find these bikes are just my size.

Need advice on a transmission replacement.
I have bought parts in the past from a company called lkq, they sell salvage parts from wrecks.
The parts are checked and are warranted.
I can buy either a transmission from oregon for 350 dollars and pay 150-200 in shipping that has 4000 mile on it, came from an unwrecked car, the guy i spoke to said they usually are from stolen vehicles that where recovered but trashed in some way, drugs, blood etc or someone burned out the engine and sold the rest as salvage. The other option is 390 dollars for a local part thats 14k miles but was in a wreck. The parts are checked and warranted but i was just wandering if anyone has experience in this kind of thing. I shopped around and got a quote for 425 to swap it from a very reputable shop.
Just to keep it interesting, out of all the older 90s, 80s etc vehicles, what would have the cheapest parts?

>based LKQ
is pretty amazing, it would be hard to beat parts from them
>blood drug trans with 4k miles fol less than $600
this is a good deal, but look at it this way:
you paying an extra $100 for 10,000 miles less wear AND no collision
you obviously like the vehicle or you wouldn't be getting a trans swap
so spend the extra cash
>shop quote
way decent, if they're reputable this is a great quote
>best cheap car
toyota e100
if truck, hilux
>>
>>16424668
So in general its okay to use the parts they sell from a wreck?
Never seen a hilux in the US, what name does it go under hear?
Still thinking of going the 390, 14k tranny, not sure about the west coast LKQ, the google reviews for that particular store is poor.

What does /o/ think about Nissan S12's?

I ask this because Tommyfyeah is giving away this S12 for the price of $10

Found a 2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature L in pristine condition with 32,000 miles on it for $11k.

As a side note, Jesus Christ this thing has ash trays all over the fucking place. Two up front, one each of the rear passenger doors all with their own lighters.

The previous owner didn't allow smoking in it though, but it almost seems like a waste not to do so.

From what I understand the bastard will basically last forever. The electronic components can be kind of sketchy at times, but it is supposed to be a smooth ass ride that routinely gets well over 300,000 miles with no transmission, drive train, or engine problems.

In terms of luxury, they kind of basic but still undoubtedly a luxury car and feels as such. Their power is pretty weak, you won't get 0-60 in any kind of a hurry, but it will run at interstate speeds without putting any kind of stress on the engine because of the way it is geared.

The air based suspension system can be a mother fucker to fix when it goes out, but from what I understand they are pretty damn reliable. Hell, I got a buddy who owns a TC from the 80's with almost 500,000 miles on it and the damn thing still runs fine and the suspension is still trucking with no problems and is smooth as ever despite him living on a bumpy and shitty dirt road that jars it to shit every single day.

I can see why they stopped making them though. They weren't as fast and didn't have the extra luxury items as their competitiors did, but the one you are talking about was original about $52,000 dollar car despite it being weaker and less modern.

Still, the 2005-2011 line of Town Cars was the last of what I consider the 'True Lincoln' lines personally. All that Lincoln makes now is basic Ford cars with some luxury mods and massive price increase. The Town Cars were the focus back in the day, then they made cheaper versions of the Grand Marquis, and cheaper yet again for the Crown Vic.

So, yeah, that is a solid deal with the miles on it if it is really good condition.

Where should I go for car repairs?

My parents bought me a brand new car when I was young and we always took it to the dealer for maintenance, but now that I'm on my own I'd rather not spend extra cash just to take it to the dealer.

One of the brake lights went out and I need a new side mirror and I also have a dent and scratch I'd eventually like fixed

There's no excuse for not knowing how to change bulbs on your own car.

>and I need a new side mirror

Almost always doable at home, even with electric mirrors. In fact, electric mirrors are probably easier because it's just a case of plugging in the wire loom.
