What other car under 10k can compete with this?

They're pretty nice but their viggest problem is the community. At that price it's also worth considering LS1 f-bodies, S197 pre-facelift mustangs, MR2s, nice Miatas, nice S chassis cars, WRXs, the list goes on. It's morr about what you like than what goes fast, if you want maximum performance for 10k buy a minitruck to haul a shifter kart to the track.
Why not the 350Z? It's lighter and cheaper and is basically the exact same car otherwise
Gonna be replacing the fender on my car, but I aint got the right color, will it last if I spray paint it myself or should I take it to a shop
Look up color match spray cans. It's one of MCM's better recent videos. Wouldn't do it to a nice car, but if it's a bitch and not your baby go for it.
>>17795581
it've last good but you ainna gonna match the color right

looks like itll do the job, thx
Hey br/o/s, I come to you seeking help today. This could be a challenge for some of ythe more mechanically inclined on this board.
I have given my fair share of advice on this board, and now I could use some myself because i have encountered something I don't understand.
I drive a 2006 Cadillac CTS. It has a 3.6 liter v6 engine. When I got it, it idled rough and gave a OBD code p0420 and p0430 which meant that the catalytic converters were bad.
I also got about 15 mpg average even though it's supposed to get 18 city and 26 highway.
>After changing converters, mileage is still abysmal in the city.
It seems to eat gas insanely while idling, even though on the highway the screen (which can track MPG for all you who don't know caddy's out there) it gets well over 20.
The other known issues with the car are that its tires needed a LITTLE inflating (not that much) and it needs a new driveshaft coupler bushing.
But how the hell is my MPG this low? I asked the mechanics to check my O2 sensors for dirt and they said they were (probably) fine which probably just means they were too damn lazy to take a look. None of the known issues with the car can cause MPG to be this low.
>I hope it's the O2 sensors but the car isn't throwing any OBD codes for them
Anyone know what the hell can cause my MPG average to 15 with brand new converters?
Reply to this post and I will provide more details.
>>17795510
are you driving strictly in the city?
>>17795525
for the most part yes. I get on the highway sometimes, but rarely. It's mostly to go to work as of right now and that's in the city. Soon I will be driving it mostly highway to college.
>>17795530
that sounds around right. try accelerating more gently from a stop.
Ok so I'm stuck, I passed my driving test like over a month ago and not sure what care to get.
I want something safe and reliable. I've been looking for a Toyota Rav4 but there are none in my price range near me.
Since I can't find one I'm not sure what to get. My budget is £3000. Looking for something thats safe and high up and off the road.

Not into the auto, but the tranny was bust anyway.
Would swap for manual. I liked that one because of how clean it is.

literally worthless with any engine. they're abused as fuck.
also,
>360 and drive away
so you're driving back toward the truck?
>>17795347
What's wrong with the v10? Did you expect diesel?
The v10 is the same engine as the v8, they just slapped 2 more cylinders on. It has about the same reliability, but slightly more power and slightly lower mpgs.
You can't handle a V10?
I'm going to be buying an RX7 in the next month or so. I've never owned a rotary car before, so if anyone can give me some of the tips and tricks to maintaining and making one run as smooth and long as possible I'd appreciate it.
I'm familiar with the basics such as premixing oil and only using high octane.
Go read the FAQ on RX7Club

How are the 80's rx7s? Anyone have opinions on the rotary engine? Looking in to maybe getting one like this
Great candidates for an SBC swap.
>>17795109
The only one I found in good enough condition and at the price I wanted to pay, someone bought it before I could.
I look for them almost every day on Craigslist, but they're all either beat to shit.
If you want to SBC it I guess your options open up a bit more, but I want mine to be clean and stock.
>>17795134
I see. I don't think I would do an SBC swap. Not for a while anyways, but if you've looked into them a bit what are your opinions on the rotary? I've heard mixed things online and from people I know
>Toyota logo has a polished "metal" finish
>Lexus logo has a plastic shit finish
So, why are people at Lexus stuck with that garbage tier plastic which wants to look like brushed aluminium?
When I touch the logo on my other cheap Toyota I actually can feel its temperature, if it's cold or hot from the heat, while in the premium car the logo and the other trims made from the same plastic feel cheap, empty and light.
What the fuck?
Also post stupid fuckeries in your cars.
real Lexus tuners swap their badges with a Toyota or Scion anyway so fuck off with the ES 300 hate
>enamored by shiny trinkets
>>17795192
It's not like you think.
Can you spot that garbage plastic inside the cabin?
Protip: the whole tunnel trim and shift lever is made of that.
Can someone help me understand how a car's suspension affects its handling and how I can alter it to increase oversteer/understeer/grip whatever? I cant find anything relevant
>>17795087
The purpose of a suspension is to make the tires have the most contact with the road
>>17795087
A stiffer front suspension generally trends towards precision/understeer. A loose rear suspension would trend towards ass kicking/oversteer.

Some people consider cars that are ten years old to be old cars.

Go back to your camaro cleetus.
if the car battery is dead, is push or jump start better? Or are both methods equally effective in getting the car to start.
replacing the battery. if it's dead it won't hold a charge.
>>17794537
ok what if it's just depleted? Is one method better than the other?
>>17794533
Jumpstart because you're charging the batteey, kick atart/push start is hard om the transmission
