I also mean it in an economic sense. I have some basic tools at home (wrench, hammer, screw driver, etc) but most guides have you using a lot of different other tools. Which I have to buy.

It's retarded. I've owned AWD/RWD/FWD, and while I enjoyed RWD the most, I can't say I didn't enjoy having a tiny ass hot-hatchback with 250some horse power, was every bit as fun to drive twisties on in it's own way

I agree, the DOT should not mandate cameras/airbags/etc, but who here has a car with one a decent screen and loves it? A quick head check, then back up looking at my hood/camera a few time a second. I thought auto headlights and wipers were the shit, but this is way more useful.
Anyone else feel the same or just more useless tech bullshit? FWIW my other car is as analog as you can get for the mid 2000s, and at least my Kia is a stick.

Not one myself but i work along side navy equipment operators and construction mechanics often. I mean they gripe about work just like all of us do. For all the equipment we have step by step guidelines and instruction for maintainence of course, some how people fuck it up of course.
What branch and job did you do last enlistment OP? Honestly if you want to be a mechanic join the Seabees. overall it's great

Battery needs a charge on my Chevy Metro, but when I was trying to pop the hood it was cold as fuck out and it kept frozen shut. I somehow broke the hood release in the process and now I the damn thing won't open. Any way I can get it open another way or will I have to get it towed to a shop?
