Been thinking of getting a 4x4 for a winter car instead of a Volvo 240 not thats its something wrong with that either, but i want to drive on smaller/forest roads with some snow on them, dont have to much money to spend, so im thinking about getting a 2002-2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer with the 4.2L V6 Vortec 4200 engine, wich are quite cheap here in Sweden instead of a European or Asian 4x4, been reading alot about the Chevrolet and cant seem to find anything to bad about this car or engine for that matter.
Only bad things seems to be its quite thirsty and im wondering if someone know is the ground clearance i have found is correct... 7.8 inches (20cm) seems quite low?
Also milage is that something to worry about? In the price range im looking they have gone about 20.0000-28.0000km.
good platform
does guzzle gas for an i6 and the trans can be problematic if you aren't on top of fluid changes
they are quite comfy inside in spite of cheap GM interior
probably the only recession era GM worth owning
>>16493995
Thanks for answering!
If ill buy one ill keep and eye on the trans, thats pretty much the only negative thing i found, and as you said the cheap interior, but dont think ill be to bothered about that.
>>16493776
Whether you go with one with the Atlas I6 or the Vortec V6, they're pretty darn reliable with minimal upkeep and maintenance. Big downside of course being the garbage fuel mileage. Don't be surprised to average 10mpg or below. Yea, it's that bad. They aren't great offroaders because of their size and weight but should get through most conditions quite well.
I don't think an old Volvo would be that much worse though. I drive mine through snowy/icy conditions on almost a daily basis and it's quite capable despite being RWD.
Do people actually spend this much money on rims? Every set I've bought was under 500 for all four of them and they have never broken. I'm not picky, if their black and lighter then OEM I'll buy them.
Like why wouldn't this guy spend the rest on bettering his cars handling or performance? It baffles me.
I did lol
>>16493729
He has disposable income and is more concerned with how it looks than how it drives. since you can tell that car has stupid amount of camber
>>16493729
>Do people actually spend this much money on rims
People spend way more than that on wheels. Even ignoring niggers with their TWUNNY FOS, there are expensive status wheels (Works, SSR, etc for JDM fags) and expensive track wheels (Volks etc can be over $2k).
>Like why wouldn't this guy spend the rest on bettering his cars handling or performance? It baffles me.
Because he has other concerns than just "how can I increase performance the most per dollar?", obviously. If your shitbox isn't 100% stripped with a lightweight battery in the back and 1 seat, then you're as guilty as he is (because complete stripping is $0 and does lots for performance and handling). Why haven't you stripped your DD yet? Because of concerns about comfort, aesthetics, or something else? Then you understand what this guy's up to.
Also he drives a bagged VW Golf so obviously he doesn't give a fuck about performance. He likes aesthetics. There is literally nothing wrong with that btw, although he's probably a faggot stancefag.
What are your opinions on Audi R8?
pretty underrated, you don't see people drool over it as much as they drool over other sports cars
the gated shifted is nice as fuck
Overpriced karmann ghia
>>16493596
>>16493596
i work with various shops from low to high end
and in my opinion the first gen r8 is the sexiest fucking car ever made.
and i've seen and sat in a lot of shit
that mclaren p1 is sexy with a sexy purr but the r8 just does it for me
Why are R32's so cheap? Is the weeb tax just a meme? I thought they where skyrocketing in price because of Initial D Fans
>>16493523
Because they arent good cars
>poor build quality inside and out
>odd design choices
>floppy chassis
Its like every nissan built.
Even fully modded, its still worse than other cars are stock.
>>16493523
Not that I know the situation on the used market, but I do know that the Initial D R32 is specifically a V-Spec II. Try finding one of those and see if the price is relatively higher.
>>16493554
I see one for £22,000 and one for auction. That's about what I expected for a r32.
Are air cooled engines a meme?
>>16493348
Depends.
In a car, yes
On a motorbike, no
Why were so many air cooled cars rear engined? Isn't it the worst place for an air cooled engine?
are air cooled engines a joke?
how can an engine be a joke?
like it was made as a prank on the car owners?
does it have a punchline on the block?
What do you guys think about the hun-die Veloster?
I'm getting a non turbo 2013 because insurance and not racing.
>>16493274
>>16493274
it's literally a Hyundai Accent with a body kit. WOuld you buy a normal Accent?
No?
Then Why the fuck are you buying one? It's a shit car and every single one of its competitors is a better car. The Honda Civic coupe, the Scion tC, the Volkswagen Beetle. All better. All more reliable. All better built.
There's only one fag here who likes them because he has a fetish for Korean people.
fucking don't
there's a million other compact eco-boxes out there better than a veloster
Which do/did you prefer?
It's pretty much the same thing.
Tg UK 2002-2015 and old Top gear from the 90s was super comfy and a nice time capsule.
Nice to see all the shitboxes new.
Only thing that aged them was horrible skinny tyres and suspension wollow and no exhaust note.
Tgt is just try hard Jeremy blowing out his ass and dragging the other two along for the ride and somehow still ended up worse than anything he did on the BBC
It needs to die.
Let may go back to doing comfy things and hamster whatever.
Clarkson's past his prime and I think it's time for him to retire and let youtubers and other shows take over.
Sadly nothing will ever be as big or as good as prime top gear but we knew this day would come for a very long time I thought that it would canned a decade ago and fade away so it's a miracle it lasted as long as it did.
Tgt is already fading and they are running out of ideas

Looking to start a towing company where I would be the operator as well, town of about 10,000 people we currently have 3 small towing services that are established the average cost of a tow is around $40 locally, looking for any advice about the towing business in general as well as a recommendation for a good starter rollback 10-13k is probably all I will be able to afford starting out, thanks
Why necessarily a rollback and not a traditional tow truck?

Because I believe it would be more versatile, and easier to use in most situations.
Hey /o/, I ship out to the Navy Tuesday and I wanted to ask something.
After basic and schooling for my job, I want to try and get stationed in Japan for some years (not a weeb, I just really want to see the country side and get away from America for a few years then go back) and I wanted to know if the 2016 Camaro SS is legal in Japan. I was reading about importing into Japan and looking up specific cars and it seems Japan has a fuck ton of laws around vehicles. I'm trying to find out if the Camaro SS would pass emission standards but I can't find anything on it.
Anyone here living in Japan think a big ass American V8 would pass Japanese emission laws?
>>16492424
What MEPS are you going through?
The Japanese already find American service members obnoxious, don't drive that monstrosity around their streets like some ignorant asshole making us look worse. Besides you won't get it out much when the base has to get shutdown every weekend because another Marine raped a Japanese girl.
