In the market for a used car for around $15K and was looking for something with either a V6 3.7L or higher. I test drove the 2017 Camaro V6 and I loved it but was also wondering if a 2011-2014 Camaro V6 is better than a Infiniti G37.
If you have something better please recommend. Thanks /o/
>>16525838
Forgot to mention I'm a commuter (65 Miles M-F) and I'm looking for something fun to drive.
>>16525838
Get the G-37 or a V-8 Camaro. Even then the G-37 might be better.
>>16525838
Japanese V6>>>American V6, theyre two different philosophies, the G37 is a bonafied touring car with speed, handling, and reliability, the V6 Camaro is a base model wannabe. The V8 is where its at, or a G37.
Volvo thread -- Inline 5 edition
V8 inside
>>16525447
Even Volvo themselves knew V8 was the way to go for their flagship, although it is facing the wrong way.
>>16525438
The inline 5 was a compromise because they couldn't fit an inline 6.
>>16525447
Wow anon, I didn't know you liked ruining cars so much!
I want one so bad, I cant stop thinking about.
My life would be complete
not your diary faggot
There's an automatic '83 near me at a Mazda dealer.
3200 with 50,000 original miles.
Good deal or nah?
How easy are modern v8 half ton trucks to work on? Its seems like in the past you could almost stand in the engine bay to work on something and nows theres alot more plastic crap everywhere
Plastic crap comes off pretty easy. Back plugs are difficult to get to. Certainly not as roomy as the olden days but not to bad. Ohv > ohc in terms of working on
Not as easy as older trucks but easier than a volvo
>>16525087
Not hard at all. There may be a lot of plastic shit, but nothing a clip remover cant take care of easily. Just make sure you have a lot of extensions and pic related (U-joint socket/swivel extension) also having those box end wrenches that can bend for any hard to reach places is a plus but not a must.
My windshield has a crack about 18" long. I called a windshield repair shop, and they said that they can't repair anything more than a few inches; it has to be replaced.
But online, there are people saying you can repair longer cracks. For example
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UxQpTeQBQg
shows fixing a 17 inch crack. So why does the windshield repair shop say they can't fix a crack more than a few inches long?
>>16524409
Also, if it can't be repaired I am not going to replace it yet. What can I do in the meantime to minimize the spreading of the crack?
Fill the crack with Krazy glue or pony up the $150 for a new windshield.
>>16524420
>$150
quoted price is almost $250 :(
I did think about just using super glue, will that actually help the crack from spreading? It's in the lower passenger side so visibility isn't an issue, I just don't want it to grow and have my windshield end up breaking.
It's also only on the outside layer of glass, the inside layer is still fine
>tfw no Daytons
Why are spokes so expensive?
Because theyre hand built and hand trued. Cant just load a block of aluminum into a cnc and hit start.
Lol I have bicycle wheels that cost as much as 15" alloys.
>>16524372
>tfw not a greasy moustachio'd spic
ITT: shitbox kino
I'll start:
>1999 Ford escort zx2

>1995 Toyota Paseo
For if you want a Tercel but don't want a Tercel.
If you had to choose one of these, which do you want and why? I don't care what trim you want, get either as a Hellcat for all I care. Ive narrowed down my search to these two cars and now I'm stumped, I can't make up my mind.
>Inb4 chargers are for niggers and 'muh dodge reliability'
Save it please.
For what it's worth whichever I choose will be in the scat pack trim. I initially wanted a challenger but test drove a mustang and Camaro and still preferred the challenger. I hadn't even considered a charger but I drove one and found I liked it as much as the challenger. Not quite as cool and they don't come in manuel, seems more practical though
>>16523242
Got a family? Charger
No? Challenger
>>16523242
>Ive narrowed down my search to these two cars
did... did your search consist of an FCA radio advert?
If you can live with coupe doors it comes down to look preference. Just don't be a retard who gets a v6 model.
Was scrolling through craigslist. Spotted this. Very tempted to buy it as a weekend toy. Or turn it into a track toy?
Thoughts on a SBC 260z? I'm going to go check it out this weekend. What should I look for? I've owned old cars before, but never a datsun, nor a SBC.

>>16522962
>350
>280whp
Jesus did a blind man put that carb on?
280hp isnt a lot
also unless you have another 9.5k to throw at it you dont have enough money to turn that or frankly any car into a "toy"
>>16522982
I do have another 9.5k and more.
Where do you think I'll be spending money on this car besides suspension, brakes, and tires? What does the motor need?
Is the whole
>muh more control over the car
thing a meme with manuals?
Like what sort of 'control' do you supposedly get over an automatic?
Maybe it's cos I have only been driving manual for a week now but it doesn't feel like I can do anything more in a manual?
If anything manual was nightmare for me to control at slower speeds in first gear at the beginning
>what is engine braking
>what is a torque curve
Learn to manual and shut up, faggot
>>16522496
>Like what sort of 'control' do you supposedly get over an automatic?
Changing the gears manually and not letting a computer do it for you
Modern Automagics have basically made the manual obsolete going on 10 years now as soon as they came out with reliable 5+ speed autos.
But for swaps and track/project cars its prefered because its simpler and doesnt require intimate knowledge auto trans electronics, repair and modification is alot more complicated overall.
I got a manual swap done because the only Autos that where easily swappable into my car where unreliable trash from 1990-2002 GM and that wouldnt do, also 4 speed gear ratios are SHIIIIT
Modern DCTs are infinitely better than older torque converter autos nowadays, but the gist of it is that if you know what gear you'll need to be in for a turn or hills you can get into it without having to wait for your tranny to finish hunting for gears. You can also do stuff like push start your car if it's a shitbox.
Why exactly do you hate the Prius so much?
>>16522332
>Ugly
>Boring
>Slow
Is that enough?
>>16522332
It does the complete opposite of what people think it's for and it's ugly.
>>16522332
it looks like a toy / appliance
/k/ crossposter here, can you fit long gun cases into a Civic trunk? I had a Camry and could get 3 into that trunk without much trouble.
Also any other compact car owners, can your trunk fit rifle cases?
>>16521835
You need a Crown Vic.
>>16521861
meh, mileage is too shitty
Just buy a hatchback, faggot.
>>16521806
Is it RWD only?
>>16521806
Hope not
>>16521812
yes
>>16521806
no. It's a GM 6.6L turbo diesel V8
Hi /o/,
I am trying to make a video with my quadcopter for my car group and I was wondering if you knew any songs that would be appropriate. The video will consist of a walk-around followed by some footage of the cars on mountain roads.
