I have $130,000 to buy a race car with. I am looking to race in GT1-ST class . I have seen some Blancpain cars for less. Anouther option is a 996/997 Cup car for GT2-ST.
Which one is the better car for semi pro race leagues?
>>17802595
Unless you were looking for which bus is the best to ride, you're on the wrong forum.
The 911 is closer to driving a street car converted to race car where the Super Trofeo is more a race car that looks like a street car.
Go on racing junk. There is some cool shit on there. Keep operating costs in mind. Unless you are a fucking millionaire you're not racing in Blancpain. AER, WRX, and Chump are really good racing series, AER is probably the most serious out of those. You could also race a spec series. Spec E46 looks fun. I think there is a spec ariel atom series even. I hope this isn't bait because I wanna talk race cars.

Hey /o/, I just bought a GTI DSG and it's the fastest car I've ever owned and my first turbo. How can I manipulate the gears and RPMs for maximum g-force acceleration feel? I know there are techniques like brake boosting or "building boost" but I'm not sure how they work or if I can apply them in this type of car. Right now, second gear at like 3k rpm and flooring it seems to give a pretty good pull.

>hook up vacuum gauge
>steady reading of 18 inhg at idle when it should be 21 inhg (yes i know the elevation math)
>open and close throttle quickly, drops to 15 inhg and back up to 18 inhg when it should be dropping to 0-3 inhg and back up
>looked all over diagnostics sites and can't find that specific reading anywhere
>Already tried advancing the timing on distributor, that didn't work
What could be causing this reading?

does it have any other symptoms? sounds just like not much ignition advance

No wonder they went under.
Looks pretty good, desu.
>>17802441
It's a damn shame they went under, because they were by far the most unique of the domestic manufacturers. When you look at everything that happened to them it's amazing to think they managed to stay alive for as long as they did. Wouldn't it have been interesting if they somehow managed to get back on their feet and cut ties with Renault? I wonder what they would have made for the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s?
>>17802616
fuck renault. look what they did to nissan.
I just noticed that my vehicle's title notes that the odometer exceeds the mechanical limit. But my car's odometer has six digits and still functions.
How can this be?
>>17802418
You got fucked by a prior owner.
>>17802438
That's what I get for a grand, I guess.
>>17802438
So would that classify my title as salvage?
My car started overheating out of nowhere today, driving less than 10 minutes and the heat gauge is almost in the red, I haven't done anything with the coolant system recently and I made sure it was full of water which normally makes it run fine. Only thing I did recently was change the transmission fluid, I have no idea why this is happening. This is while I'm driving continuously too with no stops so its not from sitting still
'01 Plymouth Neon, please help
>>17802411
Probably fucked the cooling system by putting water in it. Really needs coolant to lubricate the pump, seals, and prevent corrosion.
>>17802419
This or shitty water pump or thermostat.
>>17802419
Theres some degree of coolant in it that I've added before but I primarily use tap water because I'm too lazy to get the distilled stuff, will regular water really fuck it up?
Theoretically can I use any tachometer off any 4 banger for my 1500cc baja bug?

Hey /o/
I'm writing to ask if anyone of you have first or secondhand experience with non name brand Ebay silicone coolant hoses.
I have been looking for a set for my 1986 AW11 Mr2, and the only set of silicone lines that I have been able to find are Chinese sellers on Ebay, and one fellow located in the U.K. whose prices are 3x and up on the coolant hose sets.
My hoses are currently fine, I'm just doing this in a preventative manner.
the link below is the set I'm considering.

This is the one non Chinese seller that I have found, and with the exchange rate and shipping it ends up being nearly $160.00, whereas the other kit listed above is $59.00 shipped.
Is the price difference worth it? Will these lines Burst? Will they be able to handle the Montana Winter of -20 F?
>>17802006
>>17802020
I will also somewhat shamefully admit that I purchased several lengths of bright red silicone vacuum lines and replaced the spider web of lines inside my engine bay, also as preventative maintenance, and found those lines to be high quality and they haven't melted yet.
I'm not doing this to be rice or anything, I just don't like the idea of a line bursting on me one day, and I believe the lines are all original from 86'
Unfortunately, it also appears that mishimoto doesn't make any hoses for the aw11 as well.

How did Tesla manage to create a desirable electric car?
>>17801866
He wanted it to succeed, unlike every other automaker.
Hype, marketing, and a healthy dose of Elons reality distortion field.
It also helps that they started with luxury cars and worked their way down. This creates lust among the plebs who will then put down enormous deposits so they can get the chance to buy a crappier version of the luxury car 3 years later.

What kind of electric cars will be popular once the EU bans gasoline/diesel vehicles?
Tiny little two-door cuckboxes with a max speed of 60KM/H and with a range of 120KM. No different than what they drive now.
>>17801653
Why would you pretend to be retarded and make Americans look bad?
>>17801683
Because Europeans currently drive two door cuckboxes with sub 2L engines that go no faster than 60KM/H. There's no way the Islamic Caliphate of Yuropooristan would allow anything better, as that would be haram.
20 years ago today, the world's greatest touge battle went down. Fiat Uno Vs Mercedes 190E, on Pont de l'Alma, France. It was a touge battle so intense, it LITERALLY ended touge racing altogether, as it resulted in the death of the occupants in the Mercedes. Allegedly, the Fiat driver was the inspiration for Shingo in Initial D, as they both used similar tactics.
So tell me /o/, where were you when this toe-gay battle took place?
