hey br/o/s I was thinking of taking some automotive courses at my local tech college in order to become a certified Mechanic so I can get a nice job. I love working on cars and problem solving a vehicles issues I just have no insight in the day to day life, so I was wondering if some of you professional mechanics could help me out by giving me the pros and cons
tl;dr
I'm thinking of becoming a professional Mechanic and would like to know the pros and cons
>>16696083
>turn your hobby into a career!
>tech school was fun now to get a job
>get shitty entry level jobs before going for something good
>get better job, but instead of a hobby you've been grinding the joy out of your life for money
>now you are trapped doing something you used to enjoy and now have to do or you're screwed
It could work out, but I've always heard never to make your hobby into a career.

Cons
>You'll hate working on your own car
>Everyone of your friends want you to fix their car for cheap or free
>They'll blame you if something else goes wrong from the time you touch the car to when the car is getting crushed in the junkyard
No pussy

>They'll blame you if something else goes wrong from the time you touch the car to when the car is getting crushed in the junkyard
This also,
>anon you changed my oil 96,000 miles ago, and TODAY it burst into flames!! You better fix it or we're not friends anymore!

>Double DIN
>Quality
>Inexpensive
You may pick only two.
the chinese have gotten very good at making these double din touchscreens over the years
just make sure to google around the model number and see if anyone's gotten one like that before.
i had one in my old S4 and it was pretty decent. gave me handsfree phonecalls, bluetooth music streaming, and a backup camera.
>>16695621
make sure it's got a screen dim function before buying. Otherwise it will look like you have a christmas tree in your car at night
Are brand new British cars unreliable or is that just a holdover from the leyland days
>>16695071
They are very reliable nowadays.
>>16695071
ford fixed the brittish reliablity issues. ford took over in about 2000 so get one built after that
>>16695073
Is there any other type of car that is comparable to the panther platform that is currently being produced?
I mean a large, full sized sedan, super soft suspension, no center console, focus on a smooth ride with power being an after thought.
Anything fit that bill?
>>16695060
>No center console
Nope. You're fucked.
>>16695060
>soft suspension
Not really, everyone pretends they track their cars even though they never drive more than 5/10ths these days so soft, floaty suspensions are largely gone.
Panther panther blah blah blah panther panther blah blah panther frame panther panther blah panther panther blah chassis blah panther
The Olds 442 is far sexier than the Buick Grand National. Fact is, it's one of the sexiest cars ever made, by anyone, in any time frame.
>>16694939
huh?
Delta 88 was by far the sexiest Oldsmobile from that era.
>sexiest car ever made

is Humvee a capable offroader? i know its primarily used as a militry a to b transport vehicle, but is it a decent enough offroader for the military in offroad conditions?
>>16694667
The H1, yes. The others, no.
>>16694667
They're pretty Damn capable. But also limited by the independent suspension all around. Even with the hindrance of an independent suspension They're much more capable than nearly any other stock vehicle
>>16694667
Yes, these things can go all kinds of places.
They are more than just transport. They are used in scouting too, which is the last place you want to be caught on a road or in the flat open.
Which of the last-gen NA super-saloons is best why why is it the E92 M3?

With 50/50 AWD and exceptional ground clearence, nothing will hold you back from exploring the great unknown.
Toyotas low cost low maintenance engines will allow you to focus on the adventure of life while it sips gasoline like a compact car.
I found a list of kit car manufacturers based in the UK, clicked all the links, read all the webpages and compiled the best stuff into one spreadsheet
I'll add more from other countries when I remember

My parents had 4 kids, and 2 fosters kids, and we go by fine with a 2 door F-250 and Fox body mustang. I don't remember how, but we did.

I wanted to relive my midde school days by buying the online one where you could make your own cars but I really cant see the appeal of paying a monthly/yearly fee for it.
