Im looking to buy a 2014 subaru impreza for $13 500 canadian, the car has 7200 km no previous accidents it is a base model 5spd manual. The awd is also a big bonus for me as it snows allot where I live. The dealer also offered to throw in 16" alloy rims as it comes with 15" steel wheels as is. Is this a good deal?
>>16729082
forgot a 0 its 72 000 km
>>16729082
>$13 500 canadian, the car has 7200 km
Seems fine to me, thats hardly used at all.
>>16729094
>>16729091
In that case, its meh
You can get a brand new one for $19000 right now.
Though I guess they do tend to hold value pretty well. I'd say shop around local craiglist, kijij and autotrader and see what other imprezas are going for in similar shape and KM
are french cars harder to work on than german?
Could you think of a more abstract question about cars if you tried?
what a weird thing to ask
it's like one of those facebook generalizations
>>16728926
I have one
>Are old cars better than new?
>"Canadian Car of the Year"
Today I am ashamed to be Canadian.
>>16728883
>Today I am ashamed to be Canadian.
>not being ashamed every day
Fucking canacuck's

At least its god tier estate shaped
Hey guys just drove my 92 Cherokee for 11 hours straight with no problems. Just about 500 miles.
Post your car and times it surprised you/made you proud.

What car is this? Sn95?

>>16728424
Technically the new Edge Stangs were SN-95s
driving in pajamas looks comfy
need a small truck/suv, found a 2009 jeep liberty that's in surprisingly good condition right in my budget. no rust, no knocking, no leaking, no smoke, only incident is a minor rear end a few years ago. 130k miles. Anyone have experience with this car? If this is in the wrong spot delet it.
/o/ tends to shit on more modern jeeps. If there's nothing wrong with it, then it wouldn't be too bad, but it would greatly depend on how much your willing to spend and how long you think it will be before looking to buy another car.
Jeeps tend to start shitting their pants if not babbied right around 160-170k, at least from my friends patriot and grand Cherokee as examples.
Anybody have shit to talk on the 2014 Chevy Sonic Harchback.
Looking for the most cynicsm you can throw at it.
Made in korea isnt it?
>>16727894
>Chevy
>>16727894
it breaks. a lot. all gaskets are pretty much liable to fail.
Hello /o/.
What does this button (the little red one) do? This is a 2006 golf plus
Don't press that button.
Also, what the fuck is this? Same car
I think the mic is for a bluetooth phone setup. The button maybe an aftermarket alarm.
Does anyone know what sunstrip this ST has? Or a simple black one like it?
By the looks of it, it appears to be a sunstrip indeed.
Well spotted OP
>>16727834
I mean I have a black FiST but I'm not sure wtf you're asking for OP
>>16727952
Ahh sorry I wasn't very clear, I was just wondering if anyone knew where to buy a simple sunstrip like this, ie plain black, but not a solid colour, more like a dark fade
Hey /o/ I really need your help diagnosing an issue.
So this issue started in mid December. When I go to start my truck, what I believe is the starter, makes a whirring noise. Try turning the ignition again and it starts up immediately. Sometimes might need to turn the ignition once or twice or even three times more every once in a while. After I've driven my truck around the issue typically doesn't come back for the rest of the day. I've chalked the issue up to being partly a result of cold weather (around 20° F and below) and a bad starter as well. However I'm not sure how much cold weather is a factor because just now at about 35° F it happened, and usually it doesn't happen in that warm of weather because it hasn't been as much of an issue lately. So what exactly is the problem? I'm guessing bad starter, bad starter solenoid, something like that. And I'd like to clarify that when I say my truck starts right up it does start up with absolutely zero hesitation, because that's what my truck does when it actually starts. Just would like some more input
Oh also this doesn't ALWAYS happen. Rather frequently though, and when it does it's in very cold weather.
You must drive an 80s truck or something.
It would help if you provided year, make, model, and mileage but sounds just like a failing starter.
Which option are you choosing?
>Cash back and emission warranty extension
or
>Cash back and trade-in value
?
Wouldn't mind cash back and trade it value, but won't know anything til October unfortunately.
>>16727310
Anyone who chooses the first option is an idiot, the residual values of the effected cars are tanking. Get shot of it asap and get something else.
In the UK at least, the "software update" makes the performance worse. Whole thing is a fucking disaster.
>>16727319
So I think I'm entitled to 15,500 CAD$ for a trade-in. What ya'll think nigga?!
Whats the proper way to jump start a car /o/?
Today my dads accord died and i jump started it with my audi. Everything worked fine and we got it running in like 2 minutes but afterwards all the electronics onmy audi started fucking up.
The automatic roll down windows stopped working and i had to unplug the batter completely and touch the two terminals together to make them work again which was pretty annoying since it took me a while to figure out that was what i had o do.
So is this normal for audis that they basically cant be donor cars for jump starting or their electronics will start fucking up or did i somehow fuck up the jump start process?
If you fuck anything up you see sparks fly, audis just tend to be like that electrically.
A safer way if you are not in a rush, is leave your audi connected to the accord battery to charge it for a while then disconnect it before he cranks the engine.
Surge overload
Get proper jumper cables with surge protection and this should not be an issue

this picture is old as fuck
Are diesel cars still shit and unreliable? It used to be you avoided used ones like the plague in fear of problems with clutches, dual mass flywheels, EGR valves, injectors, turbos, high pressure fuel pumps etc etc
However it is fucking impossible to find a decent petrol "normal" car here in the UK. I was looking to buy a nice late 2000s / early 2010s 5 series but finding a decent 530i / 545i / 550i is almost impossible. There are loads of 530d and 535d models about, did they sort all the problems from the early to mid 2000s or are they still shit money pits waiting to financially ruin second hand buyers?
>>16727061
all modern cars are complicated as fuck and expensive to fix
>>16727066
My E90 330i has been great though, put over 50k on it and it has needed nothing aside from regular servicing. It was running and driving perfectly at 160k when some twat drove into it and killed it.
>diesel cars shit and unreliable
No
My E60 525d is at 305k miles and still good
My friend used to own a 565k mile E46 330d that still ran like hot stuff
Also pic related a 2006 E90 330d at 680.000 km (422k miles)
Me was out snowmobile
Find car
what is?
>>16726519
is nuther snowmobile. is breddy stugg. should help him.
>>16726519
How can you not know this? It's a mitsubishi evo 6
>>16726534
don't listen to this faggot it's a 1972 2000gt-r
I'm going to sell my FWD econobox later this year and get something fun. My wife has a mid-size sedan so I need zero practicality.
My only requirements are 0-60 under 5 seconds, and 2007 or newer and no convertibles.I'm going to give myself a $20,000 budget. Basically I want as much performance for my buck as possible. A C6 Corvette seems like the best bet.
What would you guys recommend?
Need more specifics, are you only interested in straight line speed or do you want something that is fun?
C6 is a good option, or a post-2011 Mustang GT.
Shit, with 20k cash you could get pretty much anything used you want though. M3, Terminator Cobra, Supra, R32 GTR, etc.
Personally if I had 20k I'd get a 2009+ version of pic related. bike + speed ftw
But I'm guessing you're financing hence the 2007+ premise. That's really gay.
>>16726119
Lower your budget to 10-15k so you don't have to get cucked financing and buy a C5 Z06
>>16726255
The C6 LS2 has a better torque curve and a more aerodynamic body than a Z06
