Lynk & Co
It's fucking retarded.
First SUVs and crossovers pretty much replace sedans and wagons on the market and then they blow up sedans and make them as tall as SUVs.
The fucking retardation of modern car styling is enraging.
Only thing I can think of is that someone tried to jump my 96 accord incorrectly.
>80A fuse blown
> negative battery terminal and disconnected cable can complete a circuit with a multimeter between them
> circuit carried .47 milliamp
> battery sat for a year
> hooked up to float charger for a week
> car will finally start with a jump
>14 volts while running
>11.5 volts when not
Autozone says I have a bad alternator, but anytime there's an issue they always say that. I'm gonna buy an 80A fuse tomorrow and hope my battery isn't bad from sitting. Shit was new when I put it in a year or so ago before I let the car sit.
What else can I check? I want the car running for either back up transportation or to sell it. I really don't want to sink too much cash into it.
>>17040929
Not sure why that pic is oriented like that.
The car needs other work as well
Engine gasket
Weather stripping
Turn signal housing
Indicator light
Paint
Dent removal.
Damn thing was so pretty. The wife has beat the shit out of it.
80A... I'm gonna guess its the fuse for the alternator and the ABS.
I've only ever seen these fuses go when someone/I accidentally short circuit some power to the grounding of the engine, aka like touching the positive battery pole to the metal near the alternator, or the alternator power-out cable coming loose and hitting metal somewhere
Check your alternator and battery cables properly, then put in the new fuse and see what happens
Also; fuck the design and price of these things
I found a missing nut that held a hose or cable in place missing from above the alternator. How does shit like that walk off? I doubt it's the cause, but how does that happen? I'm guessing shitty mechanics. It pisses me off that at $100+ an hour these fuckers can't be competent. Now that I'm off work, I'm trying to do as much of this crap as I can myself. I got a quote for $800 to swap strut mounts.
THE STRUTS ARE AVAILABLE IN COMPLETE UNITS FOR $100 EACH.
Fucking $100 to remove each bolt.
But yeah, that's another car, another thread...
Sup, /o/. Wanna preserve my cars beautiful paint so I've been looking into buying a car cover, there's just one issue.
What should I look out for in buying one? I asked my neighbor who's very keen on keeping his cars covered and he told me he spent like 60 bucks on a 6 layer cover at an auto parts store.
I checked Ebay and saw 8 layer covers for $19. What gives?
Thanks in advance.
>>17040803
>Wanna preserve my cars beautiful paint
I assume you have already put a sealant on it, right? A cover works but without any type of sealant you're only going to get so much protection from just a cover. Also, find out what type of fabric is used on the inside of the cover. Some of the covers are made from extremely cheap material that can actually scratch your paint instead of protecting it.
>>17040814
thanks for the advice anon! but what material would i want the inside to be?

Drive a 1.2l 2014 chebby spark as a work vehicle.
CVT lurches at low speeds, tries to mimick regular shifts half the time, then the rest actually behaves like a CVT. Has no power anywhere in the rev range and maxes out around 90 on i75, while sounding like I'm in a hurricane.
But hey, i didn't pay for it so...

I drive a sonic as a work vehicle it's pretty zippy and it does have manual mode for when I'm feeling adventurous but I always end up feeling bored and forgetting to even shift until it's at almost 5k rpm. It's really an uninspiring boring econobox but in some ways I do kinda like it.
Does this show have any legitimacy or is it just a bunch of guys with cars who were cast for a competition show?
>>17040553
They came to Tulsa OK, they beat some of use, and we beat some of them. they were okay. Last time i saw them was at north star dragway in TX. They were fucking cocky but 7/10. pretty average. Most of the real racers dont give a flying fuck about them. buncha drama queens.
Its a Farm Truck races a stock exotic episode
A lot of them are actual NHRA licensed drag racers. NHRA even threatened to take their licenses away if they contiuned
Any suburban guys here?
I want to take a 4x4 suburban and put a hightop on it for camping. I saw a few online but not very big ones.
Can I put a fiberglass one for a van up there?
Would like to be able to stand up inside.

>>17040453
>Toyoshit
Lol, get a patrol
>>17040463
I am okay with this. The only problem is that patrols don't exist in the continental united states.
Just don't get a shitty suburban.
Daily reminder that the ZF automatic transmissions out perform manual 6 speeds in 0-60 and save on milage.
Why does anyone still drive a manual in 2017?
>>17040290
Partly because it's fun. Partly because not everyone can afford top of the line shit and they're forced to choose between slushbox and manual.
Because these 8 speeds run on liquid gold evidently.
For the BMW 5 series hybrids the ATF is aboot $115/ litre CDN and it takes 12-15 litres for a dump and fill.
>>17040290
reminder that if you can't shift in 180 miliseconds this slushbox transmission is faster htan you.
Hey /o/ I just started learning to drive manual. When does the fuck ups of first gear end? My 2nd day driving and I feel super embarrassed when I left off the clutch or stall it out.
>2009 mustang gt
Car has the same shifter
set the rpms at around 1100 rpm or less since v8 and slowly let out the clutch.
repeat

Ignore all the posters who say HUR DUR I LEARNED IT IN 3 MINUTES
It'll probably take a few weeks. Just keep at it and don't panic, good luck anon
I learned it in 3 minutes.
I know nothing about cars and want to know everything about cars, general maintenance and the inner workings of the car. Also anything that anyone knows about cars

bump for an actual discussion.
I don't know why people are comparing the two. One is a commercially produced vehicle with a particular set of specifications right off the showroom floor. The other is an aftermarket tuner modified vehicle. It's like comparing a S1000RR with a GSXR 1000 that had $30,000 in engine work done to it by some meme tuners. Who gives a shit.
Anyways, I think it's cool that America is pumping out these retarded cars. It's not practical and it's ugly as shit but the numbers don't lie. it's fast, it's american, and it's less than $100k
>>17040049
Thats right America is number one cunt
And why is it nissan?
Literally no reason to buy a nissan ever
Mazda3, corolla, civic, impreza > sentra
Mazda6, camry, accord, legacy > altima, maxima
Tacoma > frontier
Tundra > titan
Cx5, Cx7 Cx9, rav4, highlander, 4runner, sequoia, landcruiser crv, pilot, forester > rouge, murano, xterra, pathfinder, armada
Cx3, hrv, crosstrek > juke
Im sure there is more im missing.
You would have to be absolutely retarded to choose nissan
They have a reputation of being poorly built, using low quality electronics, and burning oil.
Even ghosn himself said to cut costs.
>>17039939
some people like them and don't know about the reliability issues
even then half your shit is fringe memes, the worst ones that you didn't even mention are the CVT failures

Ass blasted
Why do people watch this shit? How did it break the global box office? It's literally cancer.
>>17039816
Why do you care?
It's their money and they spend however they like. Don't like it? don't go watch it in the cinemas.
It's dumb fun with pretty people, cool cars, and cool stunts. What is the problem OP?
>>17039816
Because the general movie going public doesn't care that your shitbox isn't featured in it.
Hey guys, I had a 370z, it got totaled in a hit and run and now I'm looking for something else. I found this c5 that the guy is selling for a decent price. Thoughts? Other cars I should look at for under 15k?
>pic related
bump?
would really like to hear from guys with c5's with common problems, costs.
>>17039369
It's got a very shitty interior. But they are okay. You're gonna be sad you didn't get the z06

My dad has one.
They're slow and everything rattles.
What you can build it into is incredible though.
